Anyway, on a lighter note, to continue with the Co-op goodness, another new Co-op thing, is co-op target test! This was great fun to do in Melee (If you used an Action Replay “cheat” device) and should be a very interesting addition. I look forward to seeing the records set by people. Need to get that target on the other side of the level real fast? Why not smash your friend over there and have him hit it as he flies by?

This is probably why the mode seemed so familiar to me. I remember seeing videos of this, and thought this was already announced. Maybe the Action Replay multiplayer is what inspired Sakurai to include it as an actual mode.

you're not looking hard enough.

The reason the set of Co-Op events looks completely different is just because NOT ALL events are Co-Op. For example, we see all the events in 1p Co-Op ordered normally 1,2,3,4,5,6,7, etc.

Meanwhile the Co-Op events while numbered 1,2,3,4, etc because its a seperate screen for Co-Op, while in reality its probably something like event 1,2,3,12,17,24,26,28,etc. Just jumbled abit

Clearly, you're all blind and/or stupid. I broke down this update on the first page!! Allow me to quote myself:

Lots of hidden tidbits of info in this update.

Alternate PT color.
Alternate Ivysaur color.
Alternate Charizard color.
Alternate Diddy color.
Ivysuar DOES use his vines. I'd say he's doing a running grab, and he missed.
PT is in event #5 of solo and event #2 of co-op. Makes him a starter?
Dedede is in other early events. More proof that he's a starter?
The theory that the little squares above the events represent 'pages' of events is debunked.

Also, the other events shown allow for some speculation!

Giant DK vs. Diddy?
The lighting bolt from Mario Kart is finally shown.
Dark Samus and Dark Link vs Samus and Link?
Zamus and Zelda together in an event.

And just for me... it looks like Dedede has an awesome up tilt or up smash, seeing the arc of coins in that one screenshot. WOOT!
Also, about Co-op event #5...

Its Giant DK vs. Diddy. You can make out his red hat and tail.

But, upon further inspection... I see another tail, and purple coloring. Another alt color for Diddy confirmed?

Or.... no way... it couldn't be... DIXIE?!!!!!

If so, you heard it hear first. If Dixie is in the game, everyone remember, XARIAS CALLED IT!!
Pay attention people.

Somewhere, most likely existent
Well, that Pokemon Trainer costume's a bit of a downer. And that is ONE ugly green Charizard. o__o;

Well, as far as I'm concerned, the more Co-Op in the game, the happier I am. A really good Co-Op game is just what I need anyway. Brawl will be perfect. :D

Oh, and let us notice Event 4 and its Lightning Bolt, and Event 5 and its "Dark Samus." XD Niiiiice.

you can't really make a claim like that without seeing the later events.

Ah so one of PT's Alternate costumes is Brendan's Colors. Well Emerald Version of Brendan.
http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Brendan

I am pretty sure all his alternate costumes will be similar to this. We will probably get Lucas, Gold, Brendan (Ruby) and maybe a more "Ash-like" version. Anyone who is hopeful for female versions will most likely be disappointed. That was always very disturbing to me.

I won't use Co-op Events very often unless they can go online.

Everyone hates coin mode...except maybe 2% of the Smash population.

But hey, if Sakurai wants it in the game, then there's no reason why it shouldn't be there. Regardless of the fact that many people don't like the mode, including it just increases the versatility of Brawl.

If you don't like Co-op, don't play it. Unless you auto-failure when one person loses their last stock, you could just let them stand there while you lay a much harder event match, which for me, is great. I can have one of my friends(Competent or not, I don't care) pick up the controller and play with me, and we an both own against the AI in pre-set goals. Or, when I'm feeling bored, I'll plug in another controller and take them on myself, letting the partner character just stand there, or be a liability that I have to protect, adding another goal to my list. All in all, I thought this was a fantastic update.

I like the Game mode updates more then character updates, to be honest. I already got my dream character in, so I want to know more about the Subspace Emissary or other ways to enhance the Brawl playing experience.

And yes, Sonic is the dream character, like many others.

I know this has been brought up before, but I'm going to reference to the Zelda/ Zero-Suit Samus Picture...

Doesn't the fact that you can play an event mode as Zero Suit kind of influence the fact that you can start a match as her even more? Just saying. And I love the idea of have a Zero-Suit/ Zelda event.

It could also just be because Events can alter the normal rules of play to fit the situation. But for everyone's sake I hope this is true. Even if Sakurai wasn't planning to make them seperate originally, maybe he'll make her 'unlockable' on the character selection screen once you turn into her the Final Smash way.

I'd think the "Hold A" thing would make more sense, personally.

Yeah, it's not in the demo. But all that could mean is that they hadn't gotten around to it at the time or they wanted to encourage use of the Smash Ball. I think it'd be weird and redundant if ZSS had her own spot on the select screen.

a thread was locked in general discussion for this.

Event 6 on Solo is 2 Diddy Kongs versus Giant DK.
From left to right, Giant DK, Purple Hat Diddy, Red Hat Diddy

Also, the co-op version of
Link vs Dark Link

is
Samus vs Dark Samus + Link vs Dark Link

so I'm assuming you and your friend play as Link and Samus. Maybe this now means Dark Samus costume for Samus.

The guy with the really long name is probably right in saying that different event matches can influence the game however they want. I think we might've had a few in Melee too but I don't remember. I also think it'll be possible to start as ZSS somehow anyway though.

Foooor the ZSS vs Zelda one. Do you think that BrawlCentral was right in that they're against each other because they both transform? I think it could either be that or some sort of "Magic vs Technology" event.

Coin mode fails to all levels. No one plays it, no one will ever play it. unless it COMPLETELY CHANGES I don't think anyone with a brain think it's the best mode in Melee. >_< Honestly though, it better at least 90% change. If it doesn't, it shall fail again. Honestly, Coin mode is played 100 times less then Pichu being used in a match! o_O

If Samus' FS makes her ZSS, then does that possibly mean zelda's could turn her into shiek?
