I need a truck for my work. My company won't pay for my gas though, so it kinda sucks. But I make more than enough that the $24 a day for gas doesn't phase me too much, so I can't really complain. And I plan on moving much closer to my work in a few months (I can't right now ... it's complicated).

why do you need a truck?
i assume its for a delivery service or a transportation job, but over here you get supplied with a vehicle if youre doing a job like that

Shipping and receiving for NASA :p. They normally would supply someone in my position with a vehicle but the government is completely broke. I'm just happy to have a well-paying job at all.

I find it extremely funny that us ROBs would be so worried about fuel.

ROB is affected by rising gas prices the most

I mean, not only our fuel, but our gyro is clearly made out of some plastic material. Considering how many we go through a match...it's getting pricey to be a ROB main these days ='[

Looks like ROBs need to switch to ethanol ;o

A Ford Ranger has 22 mpg, best of any truck I've seen.

but those are theoretical numbers tested on a smooth surface/ideal conditions, doesnt account: bumpy roads, inclines, load carrying, even temperature/humidity plays a role.

the real numbers are always lower

This gas problem effects me too! With higher gas prices, it costs more to ship my eggs! :mad088:

Yeah my truck was advertised as 18 mpg but in reality it's 15. I have no desire to buy a new truck with marginally better mileage.

just buy a tractor, in all seriousness its slower, but the bumps and crap wont affect it as much, its made to be fuel effecient despite its size and if you need that much storage you can just get a trailer for it!

buy a jcb, fastest tractor evar

So yeah, I had to run some major tournament where only 25ish people showed up to enter brawl. (lol, the scene has pretty much died off this year).

So I arrive there and im told one of my tvs was broken because some of the 64 smashers dropped it or something. (I'm still trying to figure out who, but thats what i was told anyway) So I'm rather pissed and hope their scene burns in hell. Also brawl sucked because I've only gotten worser and worser at the game and actually snapped in a doubles match because of D3 bull****. I just yanked my controller out and walked off after the match finished because the game is lame as hell and completely broken.

I think I'm never playing the game ever again, or so I like to think so. Its impossible to get away from, and its way too stressful for me now... Yet in the end, its too hard to quit.

How do I quit this bad gameee? =__________= Seriously I need to stop because one day ill be under soo much stress playing this **** and broken game, I'll end up having a brain aneurysm and die.

I feel the same way, Leisha. After having a pool of all MKs at the last tournament I was at, I was sick of this game's bull****, and switched to Melee. It was inevitable, since I've been enjoying Brawl less and less. The only character I play now is Peach, ROB isn't even fun for me anymore. I'm enjoying myself so much more at tournaments, and Melee is a more fun game for me, so it's a win-win.

You should just find another game to play. It may or may not be Melee for you, but other games definitely help.

pick a character that is made of pure fun, whatever character that may be for you
for me, its ganon. i find him more fun to use than r.o.b which has led to constant thoughts of becoming a ganon main XD
i find that if youre not at the very top of the prectrum, trying to the play game with a purely serious manner just causes stress. the guy whos been with me since the start of my smashing career went down the extremely serious route, i went down the fun approach.
hes better than me at the game on paper, but vs. each other i tend to win, he uses ice climbers and such, but he just doesnt enjoy the game at all anymore

tl;dr: use someone fun, play with a funny style, you get laughs

What is it that keeps you from quitting Leisha? The people? Not wanting to waste the years of effort you've put into it? I felt the same way about a year after Brawl came out. It just wasn't fun anymore, but I wasn't ready to stop going to tournaments altogether. But I found it easy to transition to ... let's just say, "other" iterations of Smash that were more fun to play. I could still go to Brawl tourneys and hang out and have fun without having to play a game I didn't enjoy.

Just quit in steps. You already got the "**** this game!" step going. Next step is just going and only playing friendlies/hanging out with people. Before you know you'll be free~

Start playing Duelist and other iterations of smash instead of Brawl while hanging out with friends at tournies/home. Duelist is my favorite way to play smash. <.<

I quit Brawl about a month ago after having an all MK pool and realizing it's not worth it anymore. So I'm playing Melee.

...yet I'm co-hosting a Brawl tournament at the end of the month, lol. Same situation, it seems.

I've only played 2 games of the P:M demo, one as G&W, and one as Zelda/Sheik. It was pretty fun, I don't really have any desire to practice it though, because no one else plays it around here, while our Melee scene is still very much alive.

It was Good **** Stratford.

P:M is d*mn good, thats all I'll say. I'ts got everything.

Havn't heard of it, but it was for reasons like that I was practicin the sh*t outta IC's and MK dittos.
Then I stopped having fun.
Then I broke my hand.
Then everyone here quit shortly after I did.

It was a MW regional in Ann Arbor, but it was mainly advertized as Melee, so I'm not surprised you didn't hear about it.

My main problem is the only character I find fun in Brawl anymore is Peach, and she gets wrecked by MK. I only used ROB once in tournament against Crash's MK, and that didn't go too well. If I start playing again, I'm probably gonna only use Peach, and maybe pick up IC's because I used to have a lot of fun with them.

But yeah, my tournaments have come down to me losing to MKs, Snakes, and Lucarios, and I got sick of it. Plus, I do considerably worse when under pressure, and I put a lot of pressure on myself to make it out of pools, since I've still never made it out of pools at any tournament. (In my defense though, we stopped doing pools at locals over a year ago, the only chances I've had have been regionals since I've actually been good at Brawl) I really don't know how to deal with pressure, I guess. But for some reason I don't feel any pressure when I play Melee, probably because I don't have any expectations placed on me like I do in Brawl, idk.

Hey Sil where ya been?

I dunno if you've been following P:M development at all but you're gonna love the patch (whenever we finally release it, hopefully in the next couple months). It fixes a lot of the big issues that the demo still had. DI/SDI/ASDI is 100% Melee, landing detection is fixed (Ganon and Samus players rejoice), and so so much more.

Yeah its very frustrating
because I can no longer enjoy playing my character due to characters like Mk and D3 just rendering him useless. (D3 is waaay worse though, I think that matchup is impossible if they know how to shut you down completely) I've been playing some melee lately, although I'm no good at it I'm actually having more fun than brawl. (Mostly because I feel expected to play good by other people and don't want them talking **** about me.)

I'm starting to play mvc3 now, but the game itself is soo hard for me :/ It's going to take a lonnnnng time for me to even become decent at the game lol.

Yeah thats pretty much the problem... I did put alot of time into brawl, but now everything is going downhill. Pretty much losing to players who arent better than me, its just because the character ***** mine. I dont want to enter a tournament because I fear ill react even worse when i end up losing to brawl gay (probably will start getting to the point where I throw my controller).

But thanks for the advice everyone though =).

Ill probably still go to tournaments... I'll enter for the lulz maybe, but not give a ****. Doubles can be still fun unless your opponent is lame and spams double mk or something.

This x100000

Thats what drags me down in the game, I just completely choke under pressure... Then I end up losing to bad people. =_= I also blame my dyslexia aswell... I cant even ****ing structure a sentence properly. Makes me rather sad.

Sup JCaes, Just been putting a lot more focus in school this year, financial issues, and been involved with a girl or two over the past couple months. [So everything important that isnt smash]

tl;dr: The Real World

Whose this "Miss Chuchu" imposter? That Leisha in disguise? If so she didnt even say hi so I'll pretend like she didnt say anything important and move on.

Yeah I'd much rather be involved in the Melee scene right now, SOO much more fun. Although the Brawl scene has gotten me countless friends which is why I keep returning. I've been hoping that P:M would be a nice balance.

Well I need to get to bed, 9 am and shiz. Though I'll leave you guys with some nice reading that I just found and check back sometime tomorrow: http://www.highexistence.com/life-secrets-and-tips/comment-page-1/

Rofl at that link. I do almost everything on there besides drinking enough water (working on it >> ) and working out, which is technically walking around a school campus all day for me anyway.

tl;dr Just practice #50. You'll stop having negative thoughts about things eventually and won't need to use "methods" to release those thoughts/that energy.
