Bought in with $80, down to $11 without winning a single hand yet that night, go all in on a A Q suited and win with a pair of As going up to some # in the 50s. I went on a roll and won like 3 more hands in a row up to $150 or so, then hit a big hand where I had the highest possible hand betting back and forth with someone else who thought he had it. Turned out he had the second highest possible hand (my A 10 twopair vs his A 8 twopair) and got over $100 out of him in that one hand alone. Walked away with $260 or something in the end and then after losing like $20 at slots (which I've had great luck with up till now, my 2nd time at the casino I won about $100 from penny slots alone but I'm not gonna play em anymore now that I do poker) and I think I lost a poker hand or two after the last big win I walked away like +160

why do I love typing and telling stories on swf when I have a 10 pg paper due tomorrow that I'm not done yet lol

I love that movie. A while ago I actually learned how to count cards in highschool with a few friends. It's not that useful for stuff in a casino what with multiple decks and stuff or idk, but using it in friendly games was hilarious lol

Heh, we really don't have much of a scene here. we kinda merge with Nebraska, since there's like.... 2-6 people that actually play Brawl. most of them are melee kids, and if they enter Brawl, it's just because they're already at a tourney with Brawl in it. I'll check it out though.

Hmm, at least I can claim to be the best ROB in Iowa, though >.>

Slight correction: Nacker was never on a PR (they didn't exist here back when he was active). And Azen never really "seconded" ROB. For a few months, Azen used a different character at every tournament (and won a good portion of them). ROB just happened to be one of them. If that counts as seconding ROB, then Azen seconded over a dozen characters.

The imput to do it varies on weather or not you have tap jump on or not.

Tap Jump ON: While running, slam Up-B in the opposite diagonal of the way you're running, the tap jump will cancel your dash and you will Up-B from the ground.

Tap Jump OFF: While running, quickly press jump then slam Up-B in the opposite direction that you're running (its all very fast), there is a way to do this without jumping first, but you have to be VERY precise and there is a large margin for error, in which most the time you will B-reverse it.

*The Concept: A dash carries alot of momentum, and a jump cancels your dash but your momentum carries over. It takes a couple frames from when you press jump for ROB to actually get off the ground, but you are technically in the air. Any time during a jump you can activate a variety of commands, so once you've pressed jump you can immediately activate Up-B before the jump animation begins.

**Things to note: 1. If you DI forward too quickly after the Up-B it will turn into a B-reverse and switch your direction and momentum.
2. An easier way to perform either is to run off stage and Up-B in the opposite direction, you can perform it slower this way and don't have to worry about the dash turn-around animation screwing you up.
3. When I say "slam" I mean about as fast as a B-reversal, so its impossible to do it too fast.
4. Performing this in the air is similar to reversing your gyro in the air, and you can do something similar with your gyro while running.

A Visual To Help: Imagine a clock face on your joystick, and you are running towards the 6 o'clock. You want to quickly move to the 1 o'clock without touching 12 or 11.

That's not quite right Sil. Running momentum isn't actually carried into the air in Brawl (this is why RARing works, and why you can jump with full momentum from standing still on the ground, and why Captain Falcon's running jump is slow as ****).

To get a perfect RARed up-B, you have to do it from the ground without jumping (because up-B actually does conserve running momentum) and reverse it by tilting the stick back rather than smashing it back (otherwise you'll fly in the other direction).

I do find it a lot easier to jump first and then reverse the up-B, but you will get significantly better horizontal momentum if you do it straight from the ground.

Interesting.. What about having tap jump on? You can't avoid the jump imput before the Up-B.

I play with tap off and typically claw to pull off things like this fluently.

Like I said, it's easier if you jump first. Do it with tap jump off without pressing jump. It will be significantly faster if you can pull it off.

lol chibo im trying not to troll anymore but that post was extremely close. but i did post it when I was half asleep at like 7 in the morning so yeah...

you really shouln't be getting sheildpoked by tornado w/ a full shield though. I know the mks you play are better than they ones that I have but you can only develop tornado to a certain point lol. The most annoying thing to me is when they act like they are going to run away and bring it back towards you at the very end because it will hit you during the beginning part of your dash if you are trying to punish it and if you keep your shield up then it will deplete faster so they can poke you. But you don't have to do either of those options. Roll or walk away. Everyone always tries to punish tornado but mk gains absolutely nothing by tornadoing your shield all day and just sets you up to get out your gyro or a better position on stage.

this is a bad attitude though. Ive seen both of these matchups won or brought very close between very good olimar and mk mains. It is def. possible
