Thanks for the help. Sucks you couldn't find much either. I kept running into that anime thing as well, and the only logical "translation" for it I could think of WAS Green Greens. Hang on.. yeah, he refers to it as a character. wtfSniffnoy said:

251-- Diddy Kong, who again is translated as "DD." Heh. This guy is also asking for the animal friends to appear, referring to Rambi by name. He also mentions more "Super Donkey Kong" influence (as someone on here joked: "Nintendo hates DKC!"), and specifically mentions two fish enemies from DKC2 ([jinga] and [niku]) as some sort of hazard/character addition.
252-- Rambling about what a great game Smash Bros. is.
253-- He says that it's great to have unrecognizable characters (my examples: Marth, Ness, etc.) so that people can learn about the company and appreciate it better. It's also funny to watch their confusion
Likes the Nintendogs item a lot. His language doesn't translate well, BUT I'm positive he is asking for "Animal Crossing Human" or something to that effect (whatever you wanna call it). He talks about fishing and catching bugs and moving furniture all by yourself, and the translator calls the game "The Forest" XD He also refers to it as a "slow life" game, which pretty much sells it as AC. Congraturation "AC Dude as a Character" fans! (all three of you

254-- Says SSB64's roster was too small. Hopes there's plenty of characters in hiding this time around, because he loves unlocking them.

256-- Music Request time! The music that plays when you're in the ghost's house in Link's Awakening, ...that's it. lol. He goes on about how good a tune it is.

258-- W. T. F. He is talking about Pit, and the rest is all... just cheers for the character XD I like this guy's tastes in video games! :D But, anyways, he wants the Underworld Music and the "Tower" music from Kid Icarus. Not sure if he means SkyWorld, Sky Palace, or Dungeon by that.

260-- Weird letter. He says it's sad that we have to wait for info, and we don't know much about the new character still. Then he goes "Oh, and you better put in Petey Pirahna"
Sakurai-- I'll let Samurai handle this. Sakurai says you need secret characters, and mentions, I think, that they're not sure if Snake will be hidden or not.

Panda said that having Snake as a secret character is fitting for a guest appearance like Snake's. So yeah, he'll probably be "secret" in that you'll have to unlock him.

Well that's two weapons we can confirm for Snake. I'm interested in seeing how they'll implement his third recovery move if he were to have one at all.
Metaknight getting a rock remix of the Kirby Victory Dance sounds interesting to say the least but what would be even cooler is if they use that kickass track that plays after you beat Revenge of the Metaknight on Kirby Superstar.

the kirby franchise has so mnay good songs that i dont understand why they dont include some of them. i was puzzled for the longest time why they chose that song of "fountain of dreams" for melee when in reality it's just a remix of the old dreamland theme.
Alot of those from the poll are good candidates however i think they should focus on franchises already existant in melee but have mininal characters. for example someone else from metroid (ridley, please!) or that female racer from f-zero(whats her name?) i'd like to see more female characters, but...i think we should limit on the flying characters...we have 4 already and if ridley gets included then we have 5...unecessary surplus on flying characters imo, however i;d really like ridley to get in.
also as kool as some of the mario characters are(geno, heck yeah) dnt you think there's a TAD too many from that franchise already? if any more mario characters are to be added i think it'd be wise to take out doctor mario( i think he REALLY only deserves to be an alternate costume, despite his exisitant melee fanbase). please god keep toad out of there, dont you think he'll be equivalent to someone like pichu?
just a thought...what if snake could climb on walls(ala spiderman), now i KNOW he's not spiderman, and i dont think he's ever able to climb on walls in his past games, but what if...? and if it's highly illogical to give him that ability...i'd find it quite interesting to include a characters that could climb walls. but who...? hm...

261-- Another Dedede request. He mentions other ideas pertaining to Meta Knight, but nothing crazy. He goes on about Kirby Superstar being a great game.
262-- He says Kawashima was a great idea He also wants the Animal Crossing Player in the game, with the ability to change the environment (such as chopping down obstacles with the axe, or digging out the earth from underplayers with the shovel).
263-- Wants the Great Cave Offensive theme in the game (GCO already inspired the particular remix of the Green Greens music they used in Melee). He also says Meta Knight's a great addition, and it surprised him in a good way.
264-- This guy would be my best friend in real life ;p He says Pit deserves top billing, and finally he gets to shine again. He also loves Marth, especially that they included his anime outfit (the white one), and that he needs to be a regular character in Brawl (which I completely agree with).
265-- Some rambling about stuff. He wants trophies to have a more involved acquisation process, I think.
266-- This guy's on our side. He says that the game is not complete unless Sakurai gets ALL opinion, from ALL the world He is actually NOT asking for Mach Rider to appear, but is saying that the inclusion of the music in Melee really brought a wash of nostalgia to him, and he thanks Sakurai for that.
267-- Just another guy from Japan who moved to New Zealand. Says he's the greatest player in his country, and thanks Sakurai for a good game.
268-- Okay, first he commends Sakurai for his games. Then he asks that the Ice Climbers return, and asks that Geno and Mallow make an appearance again after 10 long years.

Btw, I was just thinking: maybe if anyone has time, we could go through a add the amount of times some characters have been mentioned? Diddy's appeared 3 or 4 times, Dedede 4 or 5, Geno about 4 It definitely helps step up one character's likeliness over another.

I only knew Eggplant Wizard from Captain N. But since Pit was announced in this game, I downloaded the ROM. Now Eggplant Wizard is my most hated enemy of all time...

Actually, Chrono's pretty darn popular, especially by old SNES-fans. I like him and all, but I would be apathitic if he appeared in Brawl.
I'm also surprised that nobody's given Lip the fairy any love yet. C'mon, Panel de Pon was an awesome twist on the Tetris formula, and she'd be another female character. Though I'm glad Diddy, Dixie, K. Rool (better have his blunderbuss though), Jeff, Geno, Little Mac, Mach Rider, King DeeDee and Little Mac's getting some much needed attention (well, Little Mac and Mach Rider atleast.)

Cheer Squad (Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan!) re-added to list.
Well her stick was an item in Melee, making Lip a character would basically be making a character who's only moves would be to attack people with a permanent Lip's Stick equipped. Don't know how much more creative you can get with that. (Not to mention that more people are familiar with Panel de Pon's US coversion: Tetris Attack, which as we all know, was revolved around a Yoshi's Island theme)
Then again, I'm not one to talk. I want Lucas from Mother 3 to be playable in this as something outside a Ness clone despite him learning pretty much all of the same moves as Ness.

If a character doesn't appear on the list, that does not mean Sakurai has not considered them, nor does it mean they haven't been requested. These letters are HIGHLIGHTS of the thousands he's received. These are the ones he has selected because they are interesting, good points, unique, funny, etc. etc. etc. For all we know, Crono has been requested countless times, Sakurai just has not posted any letters mentioning him. Just because a character doesn't appear does not mean they are not being requested.
On the flipside, and you guys know this already but just in case: just because a character ISN'T on the list, does not mean they are in the game already EITHER, just because Sakurai figured we didn't need to see letters requesting them in a subverted attempt to surprise us or lead us astray (read: Sonic). These are just his picks, and our list is most likely just a scant 30% of what the whole Japanese public has been sending Sakurai. The game is barely even 1/4 done: like hell he'd know what characters he's putting in there.
