How so? The rise of Diddy and Falco (over Dedede) have been supported by this list. Plus, this list is just metagame trends. It isn't a tier list.

If they did matter, Sonic would be high-mid right now, and C.Falcon would probably be bottom-low. Don't ask me to define it in a different way, the new alphabet system really confuses me.

Kinzer only an idiot would think any one thing is the only thing that affects the actual tier list. It's a combination of things. This is only one thing that influences it. This list obviously does influence the list because it measures the current metagame which is a big factor. The other factors such as important character matchups and character attributes are just as important to the list.

This is the part that is IMO:

Tournaments I label in this font I find iffy (as in, if I went there I would've placed, and I'm not good at all)

Tournaments that have a low turnout but have some notable player, a high turnout but is likely a local tournament, or it is overseas (You have to remember, the tier list made by the sbr is generally based off of the North American Metagame, since that's what they are familiar with.

It'd be great if Ankouku could clear up whether Anther used Sonic in several important matches.

I also actually did go as far back as when the game was released, but I noticed the placements were by people I've never heard of, in Australia (DjBrowny), or Anther.

A lot of the tournaments probably could be considered local and the core of the placements were mainly by 4 or 5 people.

Now this is another argument I'll bring up:

When you look at Ness' tournament placements, they are ****ty compared to Sonic's however...

There are 9 Ness mains who go to tournaments that I've heard of (real tournaments, not your friends house and/or above 25 people).

Cazcom and Dog Latin both used to place really well in the Washington area, and were on that area's power rankings, but they later retired (late summer/early fall).

Edrees plays Peach over Ness, but uses him sometimes apparently.

Simna quit brawl after the first month I believe. His placements in the tournaments he particapted don't matter since they're old.

Ref has placed pretty well in the past at a pretty large tournament (he got 9th so it's not here). Considering he lives in NY had it was like 60+ people, that's significant.

There is a Ness player in France who places well. Had I known this list factored in foreign results I would've referred him.

Neomagic has placed well twice, though I have no clue how good his area is.

Then there's me, I suck and hardly ever play brawl.

The other one hasn't done anything significant and plays in brawl+ tournaments now.

There is literally nobody else somewhat decent playing him in tournaments (so yes, it is basically left to me, who only goes to chu's biweeklies, Ref, somebody who lives in NYC, and Neomagic, whom I hardly know anything about) to place at all with him.

I have encountered 4 sonics so far in a tournament. I have been able to beat all of them. That alone accounts for almost half the Ness population. He has a higher win per usage rating than Sonic does lol.

I've heard otherwise. This is why I want Ankouku to explain, there is a reason he put Sonic next to Anther's name.

I'll just explain what happened.
In Canada in used sonic throughout pools, but people don't like it when I play sonic as opposed to pikachu, so a lot of the matches were 1 sonic 1 pika,
I counterpicked Minus's falco with sonic our second match in the set and it was close, I barely lost thanks to a misjudged side-b. The finals doesn't really count as a sonic use imo... XD.

In the tourney where I used Pika/Lucario/Fox/Sonic... I used them all in the finals and no pika.
Fox and Lucario were only used in the finals that tourney while I used sonic periodically through the tourney.

I'm pretty sure those barely generated many points, especially with the multiple chars.
I mostly pick him against grab happy/tornado spammy opponents, and other random matchups that I feel will be easier or more interesting. Or... just practicing..

Still, there hasn't been a moment where sonic has made or broke a match for me like Lucario has... Kinda.
Sometimes I just have to counterpick because of how predictably I play. dur.

In the end, these sonic arguments are silly. People are gonna say he sucks really bad for a long time, there's nothing you can really do but get worked up over it and not lose when the time comes.

also I noticed he put one of blue's results in green, yet the next tourney that he was in, that i had to look at 3 times cus it was pretty much the EXACT same people getting the EXACT same placings, was yellow...

WTF?@ blue battle tourney results not having notable names the second time around...

also, the fact that you dont know some of the names up there doesnt mean jack basically...

rookie is probably the top fox out there right now, and he gets beat by malcoms sonic but because you personally havent heard of him, it wasnt really a worthwhile tourney...

the way you went about this is just highly subjective...

but maybe i should just be happy that you decided to make My results yellow...

If anyone has watched Anther's Sonic, or played a good sonic knows they do not deserve the bad reputation they have. Sonic has a ton of potential and may not have top tier possibilities but he is well above low and a force to be reckoned with when played right.

yeah, usually just to our monthlies here in des moines, but last weekend we drove up to MN and played at a pretty big tourney there, i think 50+ people, maybe 60, he got knocked out pretty early tho, by sparrow who got top 8 and i think chexr, but i may be wrong, and chexr won the thing, but he usually places top 3 at our monthlies when he shows up.

Unknown doesnt always mean bad of course. And we dont know all the details of how the matches went or if it was a fluke or etc. Also almost any character is usable when it comes to very good players using them.
