the part about rock paper scissors was a joke, right?

Yeah I used to say this too, but...

It's not actually true... it's a popular game in korea but not as popular as a lot of people think

it's a really ****ing good game though
paper makes people think of writing, which means homework. Rocks are motionless and boring. Scisors make people think of art, which is something happy. Therefore everyone goes scisors, meaning if you go rock, you always win.

Please take note however that if you play against someone who loves rock music, paper will always win in this case.

Yeah... my last post was an exageration at some parts... ok more than some... but it was done to better illustrate my points.

Actually, statistics show that people pick rock the most and new players almost always throw rock on their first try. Scissors is the least used.

and there's actually competitive rock-paper-scissors, lol.

My entire post was a joke. Just look at the reasons I gave for people not using paper and rock.

And yeah... someone from Vancouver (dressed up as santa) won the Vancouver Rock Paper Scisors and went to Las Vegas to compete. It's funny, but it's true. At least that's what I heard on the radio.

That strategy [mass carriers] would probably work against most people on Battle.net.
Sad thing is that the few times I do go on, it does work. I once did a team game. We killed one opponent somewhat early. I went mass carriers, and had like 20 or something. Our opponent attacks my base, and destroys everything except for a pilon (my last building). Me and my teammate agreed that he would guard the pilon, and I would attack with my carriers. Our opponent didn't last long. The funny thing is that had he gotten the one pilon, he would have won :p

For me it's Mario but I tried Yoshi one time months ago and really liked his playstyle. He could be someone I consider as my main down the road but then again after years of playing Mario I doubt that will happen.

Okay time for my random thoughts, this is fun

- Maining Pikachu isn't really lame if you get good instead of using his brokenness as a crutch to remain at a rudimentary level
- I'm sure people do have tendencies to throw one particular thing out first (Rock or whatever), but in competitive play I doubt that'd be true
- Carriers are pretty **** if they don't attack you while you're making the Carriers... which is usually where the problem lies
- Mikhas how into Starcraft are you? More than this game?
- I had no idea so many random people frequent these boards because they rarely ever post... except in this thread?

There's the social discussion sticky, but people seem to prefer to post in these threads instead. Then again, someone makes a simple innocent post which makes everyone post about random things (in this case, I'd have to say it was "I main Protoss").

I just recently took an interest in SC after not playing for probably 5 years. Been watching a lot of English commentary SC videos.
I'm definitely better at this game than SC and don't expect to ever be very good at it, but it's good times trying.

(in this case, I'd have to say it was "I main Protoss").
Sorry, chum.

Lol I also got into starcraft just now as well :p My friend showed me videos of pro players, and after that I restarted playing the game.

And don't worry, your post got us talking about starcraft, which is the best game in existance... after smash (64/melee/brawl) and hockey.

i couldnt agree more! i always see people maining higher tier characters like pikachu and fox way more often than people maining samus. i truly believe that samus is very underrated and that her true potential hasnt been realized yet. so lisum, do u play online or console?

where does this belief come from? >.>

Is Samus going to magically going to gain better punishment options? Better approach options?

one good example is this thread. there are alot more pikachu, fox, and captain falcon mains than samus mains. everything u need to know about samus is already out there, there just needs to be someone that is at a higher learning level that mains samus. unfortunately, im only a level 5a :(

Yoshi, I love his jump armor it's so nice to have in a world of no airdodges =)

I actually throw scissors EVERY time.
Yeah they have monthly rock-paper-scissors tourneys at a local Lan center around here, suprisingly big each time too

Oh yay, first post GET.

I main kirby, but I want to main as fox, because in my opinion he has the best combos.
I used to main as samus, yoshi, DK, and surprisingly... falcon. :p
I can play as all of the characters in the game, but I think my worst character has to be pikachu or ness, oddly enough... despite their ridiculously good metagames.

I'm probably one of the few Ness mains I see online. Sure other people use him, but I never seen anyone else who mains him.

Fox is my favourite to use, but depending on my opponent and the matchup, not always the best.

Fox also destroys camping Kirbys, and for that alone he could even be my favourite character. But I love Fox's speed, his lasers, his ability to make improvising awesome combos with weak hits and environment stuff (killer rapetent action) easy, and how fast his aerials come out...

You said Falcon first, which means Falcon was the first to come to your mind, meaning that he is probably your main, or the character you prefer to use. So that said, I'll assume you main Falcon, unless you tell me otherwise.

If we were going by multiple mains, and halves, thirds, and quarters, then the list would be destroyed. Instead, if people listed many characters, I chose the first unless they stated after which one was their main.

Edit:

Plus the purpose of this list is not to see who mains who. I just wanted to see what the spread of the characters used were, and which were overused/ignored.
