right then, allow the owner of his support thread to offer his own thoughts
let us start with the who?
within the games chibi-robo is not one character but a series of commercially available miniature robots built for the purpose of making people happy. this happiness can be spread from simple household tasks of cooking and cleaning to more difficult things such as saving a marriage and defeating robots. thus far the series has five entries, the orginal plug into adventure on the game cube and later wii. park patrol on the ds which some of us had to import from australia. welcome home another ds instalment not seen outside of japan. let's go photo/photo finder for download on the 3ds utilizing the console's AR. and finally zip lash, the 2d platformer on the 3ds.
now on to the main point, how would he play well he has had all manner of items at his disposable over the series. his blaster from a couple game the function of which i picture working like megman's and of course his extendable plug used as a lash as seen in zip lash, something that was often compared to the belmonts. and then of course there are his less obvious tools, the toothbrush he uses to clean stains, the spoon he uses as a shovel, his flower picker that would work as a grab, his squirter perhaps best used for tripping foes, his vacuum for gathering dust and of course his chibi copter which he could use to glide. he also has several vehicles he could ride in park patrol, from tricycles and toy cars, used to slam into big enemies. hes even had a helicopter to ride on. in sip lash he could use certain sockets to give him temporary augmentations such as fire, which i believe nintendo US used on their twitter account for a while, and ice for the crossing of lakes. across his five games chibi has acquired a veritable arsenal of things he can use in smash.
next let us address the power supply. for those of you less familiar within his own games in place of a standard health meter chibi has a power supply that constantly drains and requires regular recharging. an interesting gameplay mechanic which was always something i liked. now there are some people who say a character would need such a gameplay mechanic in smash for reasons that they wont explain clearly. but would the power supply work in smash? maybe. if it was to work like it did in his own games his damage percent would be increasing constantly and presumably there would be some socket we could easily summon to recharge. this however feels like it would be broken and completely impractical to use in smash. the other way it could appear would be something akin to the inklings' ink, something that drains when using nearly any move that can be recharged at any time but without he nearly ineffective. this would work the best but part of feels that it would a gimmick for the sake of having one. lastly it could work as a temporary power boost like wft's deep breath.
potential final smashes? there are a few. in the original game chibi helped recurring character drake redcrest preform what was called the great twin blizzard. something that dropped a large chunk of ice so in smash a huge chunk of ice would tear through the stage like a reverse iceberg. then we have super chibi-robo, in the first game it was merely a costume, in ziplash it was a more powerful form he could take. now FS have all been made to be faster so a super chibi FS would probably be a cutscene one where he wrecks people with his plug. also in zip lash for the final boss chibi gains a gigantic battle suit a natural fit for a final smash. also if need be he can someone his predecessor giga robo a larger bulkier robot made for the same purpose who could tear through the stage.
next we have stages! the first game is set within one house, now i would say the best way for a stage is a tour stage which takes you to each room in the house. alternatively if we were to have a fixed stage the living room would be the most familiar and hey it would be cool to see the smashers battle on a couch. park patrol's locations were less numerous, a stage from there would most likely be based on the titular park. a stage where the aesthetic changes from baron to lush as is chibi's job in the game. number 3 is also set in one house so perhaps a tour stage would work here as well. or perhaps the casino found in the attic. let's go photo had a number of small areas to explore however the best choice would be the nostaljunk museum. the purpose of this game was to take pictures of real world objects which would then be displayed in the museum. the stage would likely be in the museum with different items in the background. number five has a series of stages to chose from, perhaps the space station chibi works on would be best suited.
there are characters a plenty for spirits and lots of music too, however if i start listing them we'll be here all day. but iw will offer this
