Here's my want roster. feel free to critique

That's a pretty safe want roster.
I'd have characters like Charles Barkley and Morgan Freeman on mine.

Well, obviously, removing eyes is clearly not difficult, otherwise they would'nt have Wireframe Mac.

True. Little Mac's eyes appear more as a texture compared to GA Pac-Man's, but I honestly don't know how they're working with it. I am positively hoping that if he's in, we get a classic and a modern skin. That way everyone is happy.

New Roster. I updated some of the images.

I feel it's pretty safe, but I think this is pretty close to what were going to get. I might need to add a retro, but I think its pretty good. Any suggestions?

It depends. On my "want" want roster, I would have choices like Batman and Ash Williams. But on my "want" roster, I would probably try to be realistic (even though Waluigi is on my list).

Whoa nice roster. Paper Mario, Mach Rider, Medusa, Robin, Vaati, King K. Rool? You have many of my most wanted on your wish list. I even like Sandslash, it was one of my childhood favorite Pokémon. I couldn't catch it due to me having Red Version so I was jealous haha. Anyway, I can't critique your want roster because it's your wants. You could throw Goku on there and I wouldn't mind, put who you want to see.

Well, I never predicted Villager, Wii Fit Trainer, Rosalina, or Greninja. Though, to be fair, I didn't start seriously speculating the roster until after Rosalina's reveal.

I predicted all the returning veterans, though.

To note, I believe Random Select will be a toggle on the Player Display this time around, rather than having a dedicated square to it.

Greninja (I fallaciously coupled him with Kalos Trainer, like an ignorant ****).

I mean, I didn't predict Wii Fit Trainer or Villager, but I wasn't a speculator at that point in time (look at the glorious join date).

I will take this opportunity to assert that I DID predict Charizard (with Pokemon Trainer omitted), Toon Link, Lucario and Ike. Rosalina as well, but that was only about a month before her reveal, so I don't count that as a "hard" speculation.

I only got Lil Mac and Mega Man (who was filler for any third party anyway), so yeah.

Made me glad he's not going with safe choices.

Speaking of this, I looked through all of Ike's current pictures, and none of them show Eruption.
Here's hoping for a Blue recolor.

Only thing I dislike about the roster are Paper Mario, ANNA, and ROBIN. Replace them with Roy, Bowser Jr, and Lip and I'm good.

Bonus points for Sandslash. One of my favorite Ground types of all time.

I've never had a physical roster, but I can safely say that I had no expectations that Wii Fit nor Greninja would ever be playable. The other newcomers all seemed quite likely to me upon their inclusion, expected even.

I've always been an advocate that at least all of the Brawl newcomers will be coming back, ever since Toon Link was re-included. I'm not sure about Melee fighters returning still, but I'm slowly being persuaded that it's possible, albeit I still have my doubts for most of them.

Wanted to cram Kamek somewhere in there as a Yoshi character, but had to show some self restraint.

guys, debate whether geno or isaac should come back. the 2 out of 3 rumor which is proven to be true said that either megaman,geno, and isaac( 2 of them, not all ) would come back stated before e3 2013. megaman is already confirmed, so geno and isaac are still at large. i think isaac will be confirmed since his moveset looks easier. the attack he did in super smash bros brawl as an assist trophy could be his neutral b attack

I have no idea what rumor it is you're talking about, and I would like to see some sources of it and how it has been "proven to be true."

As a supporter, I can tell you that his demand was insanely widespread. Even during the Brawl days he had some, but things took off when SSB4 was announced.

As for him being considered a shoo-in? No. There was quite a bit of doubt surrounding his inclusion, mainly stemming from Capcom's poor treatment of him as of late. I'll admit that I even I had my doubts. Only bit of helpful evidence I clung to was Sakurai's comment about a possible Capcom character.

I'm not so sure, and if Mewtwo IS in for some reason, then that puts someone else at risk(likely G&W). I just don't see going beyond 40 characters. Screen real estate is a real thing, and 40 lines up very nicely and is reasonably compact. Brawl had four rows of eight, this will have four rows of ten. Maybe a random toggle on the player display for random select.

The roster is absolutely going to be over 40 characters. 40 is ridiculously small and essentially out of the question at this point.

I think it has to do with a newly introduced series getting two new representatives in a single game. That and Blue is apparently still upset that Tom Nook, who he felt unreasonably confident in, is not playable.

If all the characters from Brawl were to return at this point (barring Snake, Ivsaur, and Squirtle), the roster would clock in at 41 characters. Given Sakurai's comments about the roster reaching its "feasible" limit, this may leave little room for more characters.

There is literally no source that claims that Ragnell's ranged attack is blue fire.
Instead, it comes up as a "shockwave" or the typical Sword Beam, a common fictional sword trope.

As for the "Hero of Blue Flames" moniker, it is because of the final battle in Radiant Dawn, where the goddess Yune infused all of her remaining power into Ike, giving him an aura of blue flame, not because of the Sword Beam.
This blue flame is just aesthetic, though. It just serves as a Battle Aura, another common trope.

Not saying that it wouldn't make sense for Ike to suddenly have an Aura-based attack (since Aura = blue flame in Smash) in place of Eruption, but him having a Sword Beam and a one-time Battle Aura made up of blue flames =/= Ragnell having magical fire capability like Sword of Seals, blue or orange.

Also, Marth's Shield Breaker from Melee to Brawl doesn't function literally the exact same either (nor in Smash 4, apparently), but it can't be argued that it isn't the same attack. Same with Roy's Flare Blade and Ike's Eruption.

TBH, the reason I added him in my roster was that I thought there weren't really any new big Nintendo series (Besides Nintendogs, that's already deconfirmed) left to add, so I brought him as filler. Some of us felt pretty confident that Tom Nook would be playable due to the letter theory and him not appearing as an AT or a smaller role, but we got the shark bite instead with him being part of Villager's FS, it wasn't that unreasonable.

I think I should explain my new choices.

Anna: It's become increasingly apparent that uniqueness is a major factor in newcomer selection. Which is why I can't see them adding Chrom by himself. It would be, quite honestly, a waste of a slot.

I think Anna is a viable candidate on her own for many reasons. One of the reasons Awakening was so successful is because of it's DLC, and all the present FE characters represent that. Anna would too, as she's featured extensively in the DLC chapters (including as a boss) and is basically it's mascot. Besides, she's been present in every game in the series. I don't think she's a mascot or anything, but she stands out and has history, and I think that she has a good, viable chance to get in.

Pac-Man: Pac-Man represents the Arcade era, which is where Nintendo's business really began. This Pac-Man doesn't speak; he uses sound effects from the classic arcade game.

Ridley is now in a tag-team with Shokio, and there is an option to play as Shokio riding on Ridley with the game's customization.
The Ice Climbers were cut because they were too complicated for the 3ds, but the Ice Man replaces them.
Jigglypuff was replaced by Jiggywiggy because it sounds cooler.
The Chrom from the Chrom Leak was replaced by the Hand from the Chrom Leak

But in that same roster, didn't you cut characters a number of veterans?

I mean, why add in a filler newcomer instead of just returning the characters that have already been in Smash and have fans who expect them to return?
