I thought the context of the discussion was "If we only get five". Otherwise, this priority stuff is meaningless.

Keep in mind at the point that picture was released, there was only (and even less time now) a few months left until the release of the 3DS, meaning any other character that didn't make it in by that time has been cut. Logically speaking, considering sleep is confirmed, there is no point in new sleeping animation being made if it wasn't going to be used significantly, right?

I'm honestly surprised they have not been revealed yet. When does NES remix come out in Japan?

Perhaps. But that doesn't really explain why Jigglypuff got in over Mewtwo in Brawl, I think. Considering how close to completion Mewtwo was, you'd think they could have ditched Jigglypuff in favor of bringing Mewtwo back. After all, Mewtwo was still a very popular Pokemon at that time, and technically more significant than Jigglypuff. The fact that they kept Jigglypuff despite that means something, I think.

However, developers change their mind all the time, and Smash is no different. Priorities may shift, and other companies might intervene. Sakurai considered the Villager being a feasible fighter now, and I think people would tell me that's it's a bad assumption if I say Forbidden 7 characters will be planned again. Sure, Sakurai thought about returning Dr. Mario in Brawl, however, he may not even think about him in this installment. Heck, it will be a big assumption if I say Roy will be planned again, don't you think?

We don't know who will be high or low priority right now, and we don't know if Mewtwo and Jiggs will have the same fate as in Brawl. However, leaving Jiggs until the end as an easy/lazy character to add in does make sense from a technical standpoint.

They seem to be hyping Smash 4 a lot -- I'm not sure if Sakurai could afford one or two delays. Yeah, I'm hoping for DLC characters... at the very least, I'll be very disappointed if we don't get any DLC, especially in this day and age.

I suppose there is a direct correlation between their likelihood and whether or not he could get them to work. I would say that there is about a 90% chance (completely arbitrary number).

I can see Ice Climbers returning, but I still think there's a possibility for their exclusion due to 3DS limitations. Even with Rosalina and Luma, I think the 3DS could handle 4 Rosalina's and 4 Lumas better than 8 Ice Climbers on the screen. Don't quote me on that one

The 3DS can DEFINITELY handle Ice Climbers. There's absolutely no reason it can't.

The question, however, if it can handle 4 Ice Climbers at a constant 60fps, which I'm positive is what Sakurai meant to begin with.

I also agree with this sentiment; however, I would not necessarily be surprised, he is a veteran after all. I do believe that his chances are minuscule though.

I understand you don't plan on cutting Anna, but I think you should remove Chrom if you decide to keep her on. FEA was fantastic and all, (hence my profile pic) but she's an awakening rep for the most part, and if any game were to warrant 2 reps (which is unlikely) it would be KIU. Otherwise, a very solid roster.

Although I am a big fan of the Ghostly Adventures Pac-Man (everyone thinks he's creepy, I've watched every episode of the show and I actually find him an adorable doofus), I would totally be okay with this version of Pac-Man. It's insanely classic, perfect proportions, and pleasing to everyone, it seems. I don't have a preference; Pac-Man in is a good thing regardless for me. But the version you showed is my second-most wanted version of him.

I actually wouldn't mind a Pac-Man Monsters version of him either.

They do have a chance of returning, sure. I don't think they have no chance of returning. Sakurai may want want revisit some ideas. However, I do not think any Forbidden 7 is 100% guaranteed to be planned, which is what I was trying to get at. There are many factors that may make Sakurai brush past Roy. However, there are many factors that may make Sakurai consider Roy. I'm just not one to say that Roy will be 100% planned to return, as, well, times are different.

Yeah, I'm jealous of Lyn. If Roy's not going to be playable (including DLC), I'm going to question why a highly requested character in Japan AND in the West cannot at least make an appearance as an AT...

Maybe I'm asking for too much... who knows what's going to happen really.
