Except they down scaled characters like Bowser, Samus, and Ganondorf to have comparable sizes to Mario and Link and they all look fine. It makes me wonder if Ridley got in instead of Olimar in Brawl if people would be arguing if Olimar is too small.

Olimar is a little different since the perspective of the character from the user's point of view isn't much different than, say, a small character like Toad.

I know this is off-topic, but I love that signature of yours. No wonder the Broncos got beat so badly in the Super Bowl: double weakness against Water-types.

The arguments against Ridley due to his size are just saddening and selective, considering we have many size inconsistencies in the Smash Bros. series already. Yeah. This has probably been used as a counter argument a million times already, but apparently, some people just don't get it.

I've played and beat every Metroid, and I don't think that it looks ********. Ridley's size differences with Bowser are minuscule at best.

Even in the Other M comparison, he's only bigger because of his wings, which will likely be a non-issue.

Samus and Ganondorf (at least in Oot and Twilight Princess) have a humanoid design so they can be shrunk a few inches without it being a problem and Bowser always shrinks and grows throughout Mario games where Ridley grows bigger in each main game and no we wouldn't be complaining about Olimar because Olimar doesn't have a character to be compared to like Ridley does.

I assume so. I think it's safe to say that we'll be seeing more "Rosalinas" later on.

As in, less popular characters who get in over more iconic ones because Sakurai sees uniqueness in them.

Finally realized it was futile, huh? Yeah, me too.
I don't there will be clones, not full ones anyway. I expect Chrom/Lucina, but they could be made unique if Sakurai knew how.
Does Ghirahim count as unique?

Does Ghirahim count as unique?

Despite my lack of interest in the character himself, I do believe that he could be a unique character if they put time and effort into him, just like anyone else, and the idea of a Marth-style character with projectiles is pretty sweet. Plus that final fight with him was pretty badass and Metal Ghirahim is pretty ****in' cool.

That said, I don't really think his chances are anything to talk about, but I wouldn't be 4chan-Brand Top-Grade Buttmad about him getting in.

1. You have Ridley flying. You're making him appear as large as you can. Try making him stand. You know, like he would be doing if he was playable.
2. Your chart on the right is just.... da fuq? The characters are in different stances, angles, models, everything.... Why do you think that's a good chart?

well, a variety of reasons, one being bowser is cannonly bigger than ridley and it would be weird.

How about this one: the Smash series is composed of trophies that are turned to life using imagination. Everything is out of scale. Ridley's size even changes within each smash game to date. He has been and can be re-sized.

When did I call Sakurai ********. I asked if YOU think Sakurai is ********. He is smart enough to give Miis a moveset and make Ridley look good in Smash.

That's what I keep saying, he'd be a perfect candidate as Super Smash Bros. equivalent to Sentinel. A massive character with surprisingly potent air combos.
