If your talking about Mario Galaxy and Sunshine, he shrinks back to normal once you actually beat him.
There's no way Queen Bee could be 20x Mario's size in one game, then the sameish size in another. There.

Care to give a reason?
They are both very popular and iconic Nintendo villains from underrepped franchises.
Ridley can be resized, recency doesn't matter with DK.
Eh, from what I can tell, Ridley ain't so popular in places other than the West. It seems like most people are seeing Ridley as this inevitable newcomer for Smash Bros. 4 purely because many others say so. Yeah, he's the villain of the Metroid franchise. ...But that's it, really. Metroid isn't treated like one of the big Nintendo titles at this point in time. Yeah, there's Nintendo Land, but it really reached out in terms of what series were represented. I'm not trying to claim that he's unlikely, just definitely not a holder of the infamous "shoe-in" status. And when it comes to King K. Rool, seeing how Nintendo doesn't even care to use him nowadays, I'll be surprised if he makes it in. Nothing to do with his recency, in my eyes.

...Pretty sure I'll get some flack for this.

No, I agree. I want both of them but I have this sinking feeling they just won't make it.

Well those were 2 separate arguments. He doesn't have any potential for a good moveset. There's nothing he could really do.
Ridley would look ******** shrunk down to Bowser's size to anybody that plays Metroid. There's no way Samus would be able to fit in his hand in one game, than be the same size as her in another.
Miis can't do anything? Well that is true if Find Mii and Swapnote and Miis didn't exist.

If your talking about Mario Galaxy and Sunshine, he shrinks back to normal once you actually beat him. Do you even own those games or do you just look at screenshots?
Blurgh...alright. I suppose it's time to get involved.

Even when Bowser isn't HUGENORMOUS, he is, in fact, much larger than his Smash incarnation. In Mario Galaxy, he is at his "canon" size, the one that he appears in again in 3D Land and 3D World. Mario barely reaches Bowser's crotch at this size, yet it is Bowser's standard size, and the one that has been accepted as canon in the recent Mario games. In Smash, Bowser is barely taller than Mario (although he's quite a bit taller now that he's standing up straight), the only other instance of which is in Mario Kart. All of Bowser's other appearances, even in Sports games, have him at least twice Mario's size.

AngelGlory made this. It's Ridley's Other M form posed alongside other characters. Believe it or not, this Ridley isn't shrunk considerably from his normal size. In fact, Ridley in Other M is about the same size as Bowser in the Mario games, when comparing Samus and Mario. This Ridley isn't the one most fans would prefer, but it's the one we'll get if Ridley's playable, and I'd rather have Other Ridley than no Ridley at all.

Please stop. It's a fruitless discussion and it doesn't need to eat this thread the way it has so many others. Ridley deserves to be in Smash just like Bowser and Ganon did.

Mii's won't work because they don't fit in at ALL they are avatars and customizable so online all we'll be seeing are people playing as "Goku" and "Naruto" miis they also don't have any proper ways of fighting. Ridley won't work because downscaling him will make him look ******** next to samus.

To anyone dismissing Ridley because of size, I made this chart:

boss_ridley2.png

As you can see, he has been slightly downscaled, but he's still huge. And that's not a bad thing.
Being massive would make him stand out even more, don't you think? In a good way.

Btw, that right picture came from here I think, so if anyone here made it, please tell me. It's extremely useful.

Queen Bee? What the hell does she have to do with Smash? What does she have to do with anything?

Bowser has NEVER been the size of Ridley. Again, if you're talking about Mario Galaxy and Sunshine, he is shrunk back to normal once you defeat him.

Welp, this is clearly pointless.

Even without the Miis, there will still be players who will be suckish online.

Except they down scaled characters like Bowser, Samus, and Ganondorf to have comparable sizes to Mario and Link and they all look fine. It makes me wonder if Ridley got in instead of Olimar in Brawl if people would be arguing if Olimar is too small.

Miis can fight. They also don't have to be customizable. That's like saying Mario can't fight because he is a plumber and plumbers can only do plumbing.

It's good to know that so many people here seems to know exactly what's going to happen in the new Smash. You guys should probably put your talents to use for monetary gain rather than using it to be wrong on a video game forum.

Characters shouldn't be that massive. They will fill up the screen and make the game cluttered.

A lot of the Ridley size comparison scales out there have been pretty crappy, but this one looks the best. The more humanoid shape given to Ridley courtesy of Other M make him more scalable and less awkward looking than scrawny neck, buzzard Ridley.

Can't believe that there's a "smash is too big for ridley" argument already.

....Actually kinda do, but didn't think there would be one this soon.

This game honestly has greater chances than ever before, with TWO Yoshi games on the horizon. That's my main argument.
I suppose that's true. I'd imagine Kamek would be revealed for Yarn Yoshi with Yoshi being revealed for Yoshi's New Island

Does Mario plumb in his games? No. Miis are in casual games like Wii Sports and Find Mii and stupid stuff like that. That's not Smash potential, that's more Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion potential.

OK the customizable thing makes sense but comparing it to Mario being a plumber is stupid. And picture a Mii in a match they just won't fit in at all.

Ridley and Bowser are the same size, Einstein. Are you blind?
Ridley is wider and taller. Not to mention, Ridley looks ******** in that rescaling. Anybody that plays Metroid can tell you that.

Wii Fit Trainer.

I wouldn't mind Miis. They might have generic movesets, but they could be customized, so they'd be less boring. Not customized to the point of having another characters moveset, though. (like Mario's)

Yeah, I hate to admit it but the Other M design might actually be a boon for him if anything. He looks good there.

I've played and beat every Metroid, and I don't think that it looks ********. Ridley's size differences with Bowser are minuscule at best.

Even in the Other M comparison, he's only bigger because of his wings, which will likely be a non-issue.

Wii Fit Trainer is from a fitness game.

Miis fit more than she does.

Why not try having Ridley stand?
