Paper Mario and tbh, that;s the only thing I don;t like about him: I have to be biased.

Which is really annoying sometime. Like when I saw the polls results from push, I just....was trying to prove myself they were skewed....but it took a while to get they were true. It;s mostly because I was underestimating him because of possible bias.

Dat Mother 3 reference, I may have to get Project M 3.6 after all.

I think the reason Kumatora wasn't referenced as an alternative color for Lucas was simply because she's a girl and Lucas is a boy. Robin's alternative colors for both genders only reference other characters that share their gender with them, for instance.

Edit: the closest exception is Captain Falcon's pink alternative color, referencing Jody Summer. To my knowledge he's the only one referencing someone with the opposite gender however.

On the topic of Mother, it bothers me whenever people say the series is "dead." The word I use is "finished." This is because despite how there will no longer be any sequels the fanbase is still alive and celebrating the series constantly, and as a part of that fanbase I can reassure you it's out of genuine love and not some sort of desperate wishes for continuation of the series. The closest equivalent to that is asking Nintendo (nicely, believe it or not) to please release the remaining Mother games worldwide. And we think it's working too, with EarthBound Beginnings finally coming out recently. Patience and a mature, professional attitude really pays off.

I would argue that EarthBound has some of the most dedicated fans of all Nintendo franchises. We've put up with almost nothing but serious disappointments for eighteen years and now our work is finally obtaining fruit. All there is left now is Mother 3 and I am seriously hoping that finally gets localized after all of these years.

Well, I know I definitely don't have bias for Midna, Ghirahim, Ganon, Jill Valentine, Inkling, Excitebike, Shovel Knight, Sami, or Paper Mario. Not even a little bit.

Yes I would agree with that. However with that you have have an unbiased look a the design. Personally i think it's not that bad at all. Did it make sense to use the classic one? Yes most definitely. Would I have been up at arms if the other was used? Well no because that's bad Sonic fan mentality.

If any of you remember, the Ghostly Adventures design was the sole reason I didn't want Pac-Man in Smash. That ugly...thing has no place in Smash Bros. It's an unnecessary redesign that nobody likes, mostly representing a mediocre show rather than the arcade game and platformers that made Pac-Man famous and beloved.
I'm really glad Sakurai shared this sentiment.

And honestly, I kinda feel the same way about modern Sonic and classic Sonic. I would much prefer having classic Sonic in Smash Bros. over the newer design simply due to it reminding me of the consistently disappointing state of the Sonic franchise.

To be honest, the design isn't that bad as people are making it out to be. I think it's more or less because people aren't used to seeing PacMan being reformed. Do I think they went with the right design for Smash? Yes, I do, they were definitely going let het him represent for his classic arcade form. I would've had no problem if Ghoslty Adventures was used as an alternate costume. If we ever get a new PacMan platformer that not Ghostly Adventures related I would like to see a PacMan World 4 or just a new platformer game or just go back to his arcade roots and just reform him from there. People seem to forget that Sonic Boom and PacMan Ghostly Adventures are aimed at the younger audiences not the hardcore Sonic or PacMan fans but it's going to get critized by the hardcore fans even though it's made for really children to get into these characters as we did.
