idk i don't shantae or shovel knight fans are as annoying.They atleast realize they characters have little change but support them anyway.And don't blindly worship them or put them on the same level as pacman or sonic in terms of being iconic

Yeah, yeah, their fans are fine, I was referring about the fact that a lot of people think they are likely just because they are popular in America, ignoring the poblems of the characters.

It's confirmed all that's left is Ballot characters. My money goes to K.Rool as a lock with Wolf not far behind. After that, who knows? Maybe Issac, maybe Shantae/Quote as an indie rep, maybe even Banjo. Don't expect Banjo.

That was never confirmed. All that was said was that the characters that remained were fan service which has nothing to do with the ballot (Mewtwo, Lucas, and Roy are examples of this). Not only that but Sakurai uses the word "several" instead of "one" or "a couple" showing that were getting at least 3 characters which goes against the remaining 2 slots that were in the game. Based on that, it's safe to say that we could very well see something like 2 vets (Wolf and Snake) and 3 newcomers (Bandana Dee, Isaac, and K. Rool). DLC will most likely last until the end of this year so it's not a stretch to say that we could see those 5 characters released by December.

Well, one of the major reasons I support either Toon Zelda or Tetra someday becoming playable characters is so that my main (Toon Link) can have a partner in Smash and I could co-main them. Dropping Toon Link would kind of defeat the purpose of my support for either of those two making it...

I would rather see a Tekken rep in than a MK one personally. MK doesn't fit well in the Nintendo verse and it really has no fan following in Japan.

I can totally see either Heihachi or Yoshimitsu in Smash 5 really.

My bet would be on Lara Croft as the most iconic non-Nintendo character after the ones we've already had.

Don't get me wrong, Scorpion and Sub-Zero are pretty damn iconic. It's just that worldwide, that isn't really the case.

Well, there were two MK movies. I think Scorpion may be known worldwide even if the video games are not popular. Just as Pacman's popularity has been waning, but everyone knows who he still is.

I wouldn't be as hard on indies as others here have been on Geno to be honest. Despite their issues they are at the very least recent and on a lot of people's minds right now. Also they are the star of their own games instead of merely being a well-liked side character in a game made almost 20 years ago.

The word Sakurai uses is difficult to translate by the translators own admission. All you can really say is "more than one". Your assertions aren't safe at all; I'll eat a hat if we get 5 more characters by December when I don't expect that many full stop.

K Rool would easily make it to 2nd favourite and depending on moveset could potentially replace ROB in the #1 spot.

I'd consider dropping one or two of my secondaries (Bowser Jr, Ike, Charizard) for King K. Rool and/or Bandana Dee if I like their playstyle enough. Never dropping Yoshi or Bowser, especially now when they are better than ever before.

Honestly, there really isn't. Pit and Palutena are my favourite characters in Smash, if not in any media and I can't think of any character that could replace them as my mains - even Wonder Red, Tiki, Anna, Inkling, etc would be subs at the most.

Golden's post had me thinking, wouldn't it be awesome to have a competitive player who co-mained Wario and Waluigi?

Am not dropping Diddy even though he dropped farrrr in potential since last patch which is insanely stupid. But no, I waited 2 games for Diddy to be in, and I simply refuse to main any character outside of my absolute favorite #1 want. King K.Rool, Isaac, Impa and Dixie Kong all will be made into solid secondaries. I love them equally as much as my secondaries, DK, Ike and Mewtwo, that's why. Might drop Toon Link for them, and pretty much all characters I classified as "Other" and "Learning" in my sig. But to be honest, I still think I'd play more Donkey Kong even than K.Rool, Isaac, Impa and Dixie Kong. So to answer your question, I gotta answer with no. It's gonna be Diddy >>> DK >> King K.Rool / Dixie / Isaac / Impa / Mewtwo / Ike > Toon Link >> anyone else.

Lucario is my favorite character in any media, but I'm considering dropping him. I wish he was Brawl Lucario...
I don't know if I'd drop anyone for them, but I know I'd play Excite Bike religiously because it would be an extremely fun character.

I'd also be strongly obligated to play Jill Valentine since I'm the only person who wanted a Resident Evil character in Smash.

The only character that I would consider dropping my main for is Wolf; however, that is only because I have the precedent of his move-set. I already enjoy his play-style and based on my empirical knowledge, I believe that his play-style would translate well into Smash 4. Other than that, there are several characters that I do like enough to represent them as my mains, but until they are released, it is just too hard too tell. For instance, I thought I would drop my main for Ryu prior to his release.

I wish Diddy was Brawl Diddy now to. He changed in total direction of his playstyle in the transition between Brawl and Smash 4, but now due to being overly nerfed (being the new Greninja basically) nothing remains of his new, supposedly more "aggresive" playstyle. He doesn't have hit confirms anymore outside of banana set ups, and that's just sad... I liked having to be less campy than in Brawl, but this **** makes me wish Sakurai just sticked with the campy Brawl playstyle for Diddy...

I wish Falco was Brawl Falco myself. Honestly, that is half the reason I am confident that Wolf will replace Falco. I need to play a spacie, but I am not fond of him in this game.

No shame in that. I nearly dropped Palutena when the game first came out.

Hell, I didn't play Robin (one of my best subs) until relatively recently. Just didn't like her playstyle when I first tried her, and it wasn't until much later that I realised I love defensive zoners.

Interesting you should say that. I'm the opposite when it comes to Pit: couldn't abide by Brawl Pit, am convinced Smash 4 Pit is the cat's pyjamas.

Competitively? I don't know, I never played Brawl competitively, though I think I do alright with Pitty-Pat in this iteration.

can't really say someone will replace a main until a character has been shown. The movesets can be different to what you expect, prime example would be Bowser Jr.

Ain't thinking about dropping Rosa anytime soon. I've been juggling around a secondary, it used to be Mewtwo but now I'm sticking with Falco. In fact Falco with the changes he got, and him being my secondary in every Smash game he's in so dropping him is out of the question too.

Yes, and sadly, I think Sakurai might be adding Tails before Dixie to! Unless by some "miracle" that is just as ugly, we get Shadow the Hedgehog before instead.

I swear, if DKC gets no DLC newcomer I'll flip more **** than ever before witnessed at these boards.

doesn't feel exactly the same as in Brawl to me, but he's still enjoyable enough to enter in the third main category. And ice is the best element ever.
is a killer.
is so technical he's funny to use, but I've some issues with his recovery and the inputs to remember and to use the best of his special moves.

Also removed and as I accept no more than 15 in my main lists right now.
