Yeah. Other than her being a part of "Awakening" as the game I don't really get the usage of wake in that tagline. It's not like she has the enchanted falchion =P I omitted it due to being my least favorite of the tag-lines, having one of the most confusing puns, and frankly I was using this as a partial list. I didn't put in Sheik or the two other Mii ones either.

There won't be anyone quiet like Dark Pit at the moment. I've seen far more people defending Ryu and Roy than I've seen Dark Pit.

I can absolutely guarantee you that neither Ryu nor Roy will get as badly a reception as Dark Pit will. At worst, I expect them to be polarizing characters. Dark Pit in contrast had much fewer defenders.

She's much slower than Meta Knight, who can fly at the speed of the Warp Star.

I mean, if using the Space Jump to "might as well fly" doesn't really help against Ridley, it's not going to do jack against MK.

Ridley is faster than Meta Knight, but i guess you're right.

That's doubtful. There's hardly anything cartoonish about Prime 1's and Prime 3's Meta Ridleys and Omega Ridley, and even Zero Mission's Ridley takes a degree in ferocity.

The neck is still "weird", but it's not pencil-thin and only serves as a reminder that Ridley is an alien creature, which tend to have unnatural anatomy in some way. The eyes are also not so cartoonish and the green color scheme puts on a more "serious" vibe than the purple.

He has a rather big head in those games and Zero Mission design has giant feet and hands.
Still looks too thin to support weight of his head, but still better than SM Ridley's. MP3 Ridleys have better necks, but aren't as "alien" as usual. They don't have that limb-like appearace.

Face it; in one continuity, there are two Mewtwo.

How the hell did they made 2 nearly exactly same Mewtwos in exactly same lab and both broke out in pretty much same time without facing each other?
Even then, both can levitate freely and that was the point.

So basically you just prefer the Other M design. There's no problem with that.
However, we're talking about working things in regards to Smash.

And considering what aspects of Metroid we have in Smash, a chick in space armor that makes her look like a cross between Iron Man, Mega Man, and a Stormtrooper no matter how you slice it, said chick wearing a skin-tight bodysuit wielding a stun gun that turns into a whip, a dark copy of said chick in space armor, a giant brain in a jar, and squishy flying jellyfish things with teeth, as much as the series lends itself to be serious at times (especially in the Prime trilogy, which is more "gritty" than Other M), there's no escaping the cheesy space opera stigma that the series was founded on.

What does it really matter if the big purple space dragon isn't completely realistic or has some "silly" aspects to its design?

Yeah. Looks more threatening (outside of his beak) and fixes weird parts of other designs (pencil-thin neck, huge overbite and a giant head).

Technically, its a Eldritch Abomination that encased itself in Phazon Suit it stole from Samus and then partially reshaped itself to fit it (it didn't bothered adding completly unnecessary parts like right arm, mouth, nose, ears, hair, actual skin, etc) and then became nothing but pure Phazon after being defeated on Aether. But at least all of those things look more-or-less realistic.

Just doesn't looks right.

He's only about double the size of Toadsworth in his latest appearance.

Clearly not that big of an issue to scale, being a fairly bulky bruiser of a baron.

Edit: I know it was pretty much a joke post but K. Rol was actually around double DK's size in DKC and in 64 he's a croc-llosus.

Dark Pit, Roy and Ridley have hatebases but those are overshadowed easily, third party characters pretty much got in due to fan demand, Gematsu characters left are popular and/or indifferent and Dark Pit was declared as 'most hated newcomer'

Do you know that Roy has a pretty good want % in RTC thread? And this one Smashboards, the place where most Roy salt takes place. If you look at Japan and the majority of Smashers in general, they support Roy.
