Do you personally believe that Dark Pit is deserving of being in Smash 4?

What a great question; in order to accurately answer the question, we must discern which interpretation of "deserving" you are alluding to. I will presume that you are referencing the notion that he is not the most prominent character (appearing in only one game), as indicated by others. However, @ Weeman answered in a similar fashion as I would. Advocates of Dark Pit as his own character; more likely than not, wish for him to be a playable clone. Thus, the notion of "deserving" is negligible. I could not help but notice that others were establishing that there were more important characters within the series. I would like to indicate that Lucina was precisely the same situation. We only "needed" or "expected" one Awakening character; however, we got two. As of current, we have yet to have an Uprising specific character, yet we have two Awakening specific characters. This indicates that Sakurai is willing to include characters based on one game over reoccurring characters. Especially if they are clones.

So the whole, "Medusa appears more than once, she is more prevalent and thus more likely" argument is utterly arbitrary. Not only that, but most would expect Medusa to be her own character, correct? Same goes for Hades. Few competent people want a completely unique character that offers something diverse to be forced into clone status when there is quite literally a clone within the series.

Does he deserve to be playable? By merit of Sora Ltd. developing the game and not yet adding one of their own characters, I would probably assert that Dark Pit does deserve it. He deserves it over another Donkey Kong character. Series importance is not relevant in the slightest. If it was, the entire roster would be Mario and perhaps a few Pokemon. Maybe, just maybe, Link would make it in the game. It is a cross-over game and Kid Icarus is treated as a front-runner series. Each main series has a semi or pseudo-clone except for Kid Icarus. So it would not be unreasonable for a series to jump two characters in one game. Apt precedent serves to illuminate that it is entirely possible.

Does Dark Pit deserve to be in Smash, does Dark Pit deserve to be in Smash? He was conceived in Smash, good sir. Of course he deserves to be an aspect of the game. Whether or not he is playable, costume, or a boss-character. He "deserves" it in my subjective opinion.

I never played Mother, so I'm indifferetn to the series, but they have cool characters, so I could get behind it. Except Jeff, he's a weenie. Again, neutral ranks ahead of a lot of the likely characters that are left to me, so I'll take 3rd Mother over the big 3 I just mentioned.

Honestly, I don't even know if we're getting both Ness and Lucas back. So just having those two would be good for me.

I'd be against. MOTHER is a great, but fairly niche series, and I still think Lucas is pretty pointless when there were far more diverse options available such as Porky. I am aware I'm in the minority here, but I'd cut Lucas in a heartbeat if we could replace him with someone a little less like Ness.

Honestly I think F-Zero should get another character before Mother does.

I agree with this sentiment, F-Zero only has the main protagonist whereas Mother has Ness and Lucas. Obviously creating characters from F-Zero is more difficult as they do not have as much obserbable move-set potential, because they are predominately pilots. But I cannot help but believe that Samurai Goroh was a wasted opportunity; however, Black Shadow is my favorite F-Zero character and my most wanted character. So it is fairly easy for me to agree with this assertion.

Issac is the only realistic newcomer I really care about, it'd be cool to see some others, but Issac is the only one I really want.

Personally, I think Impa is more likely, due to her prominence in the Zelda series, followed by Ghirahim, and then Vaati. Any one of the three I'd love to see.

I don't think Toon Zelda's likely, but I'd like to see a bow-and-arrow based moveset for her.

Honestly that could be said for every revealed AT, I don't think it helps his chances very much.
People tend to ignore Dark Dawn a lot as a flaw to the Golden Sun series, as that installment in my opinion pretty much stopped the line for GS being as big of a series as RH.

Isaac was one of my most wanted characters based on move-set potential alone. It is every Isaac supporters least favorite argument; however, I will martyr myself: I do not see Shulk and Isaac on the same roster.

I used to advocate for assist trophy upgrades. Tingle and Waluigi namely, it is apparent that that perspective did not yield much. Little Mac might just be the exception.

Actually Little Mac becoming playable was the thing that made me think Isaac could be in. Having Robin in will make the pain more bearable, but I'd really love some Golden Sun representation.

Right now, Isaac is one of the four newcomers still alive on my wishlist.

If not playable, then I vote Assist Trophy, with Boss slightly behind, and I fully expect at least a trophy. I don't think we'll have stickers anymore, so that's automaticly out.

Here's my reasoning for not wanting Dark Pit, he's about as much of a clone as you can get, he has no differences compared to Pit. Let me compare him to Shadow the Hedgehog(I don't want him in, but here me out), Shadow, at first glance, is a Dark Sonic, but he has a whole lot of different moves compared to Sonic, namely, his Chaos powers. Dark Pit is pretty much Pit gone Goth, when you played as him, he had no differences to Pit at all. If he gets in, I pretty much expect the same. A Dark Pit costume with different voice clips is perfect though.
