There is no perfect record, he predicted Little Mac at E3, and we never got Mac at an E3. That's the main detractor for me.
Because Rayman is in a Shulk costume. I dunno.
Well R.O.B is not a newcomer, he's a veteran so yeah he could be shown in these trailer, actually that's what i'm expecting (not R.O.B but a veteran)
Still he have shown that what he says is true, so there's no point on saying that he's wrong, IMO most people that do that is because they want some "hope" of something else
When I say 'R.O.B. moment', I mean the point in time when the 35-character roster in Brawl became essentially undeniable due to R.O.B.'s confirmation as playable. This is the R.O.B. moment for the 47 + R roster.
I'd say the ROB moment for people would be the reveal of the Chorus Men.
Well, one of the major detractions of the Gematsu leak being the final roster(47 + R) was that Sal's leaker was working with outdated information. If the reveal is Shulk, that blows that theory clean out of the water, because this is a very current event that Sal's source would have inside info on. Also, since again there are no newcomers being named, it's reasonable to think there are no newcomers beyond the three we're waiting on(Shulk, Chrom, CK).
Well that would mean that we need a character that's not in the Gematsu leak, i hope we get one but i'm pretty sure it won't be today
But people would still say that Shulk is obvious and thus doesn't help the leak in any way, shape or form.
Plus, up until now, the leak has named specific characters, but has been fairly vague otherwise. This is definitive and specific. If this reveal is not Shulk, then Gematsu's credibility dies this morning. If it is Shulk, it is ironclad truth, and I think the roster count follows it.

No. It is not "ironclad" truth after Shulk's reveal. It would take a less notable character like Chorus Men or a disputed character like Chrom to improve its credibility.
Nothing can dispute Gematsu's credibility if it's Shulk. Sal's leaker may as well be Sakurai himself at that point if this trailer is Shulk's.
I am certain that a confirmation of Chrom or Chorus Men's non-appearance would dispute Gematsu's credibility after Shulk's reveal. I am not entirely positive though.
I feel the opposite way.
It does not need to be an accurate prediction, it needs to be a favorable prediction. We shall see, I suppose.
To be fair, it wasn't even a prediction. He just said to enjoy Shulk. Now obviously, with a new character reveal just around the corner, that would imply that Shulk would be revealed. But maybe if the leaker did just make the same educated guess everyone else here did, they could technically get away with being wrong due to not actually saying that Shulk would be revealed.
I could understand this if he didn't also predict the WFT, that one was a stretch for me, the rest were pretty obvious in my opinion. Did the original leak specifically say 47 + R or is that just how many he revealed because being 2 away from an even 50 just seems so odd to me
