Introduction

Okay so, with the success of the last thread, a few of us felt like it was time for a bit of change. I've opted for a brand new format, with credit to Xyro and NO-IDea for their input. Basically, this thread will work quite different to our older video thread. Basically, each of you is given one post at the beginning of this thread's life. THIS POST IS YOUR PLACEHOLDER. With that post, YOU update it, add links to your videos and style it to your own. Make it as colorful or flashy as you want, just make sure that you ONLY HAVE SAMUS MATCHES IN THIS. Don't add random matches to this which have nothing to do with YOUR Samus.

Any matches that were in the previous thread of regular posters WILL BE ADDED TO YOUR POSTS IF YOU REQUEST THEM TO BE. That part I will handle since I have access to the code for those videos, after that, it's up to you.

Now as a added bonus, I've also made this a profile thread. A strange combination I know, it would probably seem best suited to the social. However, this way, you can find everything related to players all in one thread, including videos. It's far easier to navigate. You guys can add a profile if you want, it's entirely your choice.

Main: Snake - Green/Moss/Ryu/Naked (MGS3) Snake (10% playtime) I guess the time I only use Snake is when I want to practice w/him or when $$$ is on the line.
Reason I use him: MGS1, 2, & 3. They were such great games I had to give Snake another try. This was before I became competitive in Brawl.
Secondary: Samus - Purple/Master Chiefess (90% playtime)
Reason I use her: Super Metroid and b/c I mained her in melee, which I used to be competitive in. She's also super fun to use :D
Wifi: N/A
Favorite Move: Uair
Hated Move: Usmash

Improvements: Since these 4 vids, I've improved my spacing with Zair and Dair. I've improved my reads on recovery for those Dair spikes. I've begin to utilize Uair > Dsmash. I feel like I'm not bad at DIing either.

Faults: Lack of MU experience -> Not knowing the range of certain character's attacks. Not being able to correctly or fully utilize Dsmash & Utilt. I have a bad habit of spot dodging and trying to fall on people with Uair

Perhaps my biggest fault = my slow *** reaction speed. If I have an opportunity to punish, I sometimes end up standing there since I don't react fast enough >.>

Additional Info: On the East Side - Boston baby. If you're ever in town, hit me up and I'll try to make time to play. Grad school kills a lot of my practice at weekly Smashfests however. I have other hobbies besides Smash and an pretty much contempt with where I'm at. Though I love to play competitively, I don't plan on training to the point where I'm Power Ranked. I'll try to get more vids up.

I started using Samus late '09. I know. I'm late to the scene. I never really asked for help (and actually got it) when I was playing her up until now. After posting your profile, if you want a critique, name a specific video for critique. It's hard to choose and can't do all at once.

I'll critique 2v2s as well, although I prefer not to. I will not critique wifi. Even minimal lag takes away the ability to power shield, which changes MUs entirely.

Very true. And I can see how that would complicate things, but I don't think they should be completely discarded. Perhaps, as Th3 Composer said, they could be sorted into their own category clearly separated from the actual offline matches. It would be a possible resolve, but I can understand not wanting any at all, tbqh.

It'd be difficult for me to get offline vids, seeing how i play 95% of my offline over my friend's house with his brother and friends. Their Wii isn't modded to save over 3 minute replays. My Wii can't leave the house, i'm very low in tourney activity, and i've never been to an OoS Smash event. I don't really mind WiFi vids being banned, but it would help if we could at least label them Offline or Online. I also play Brawl+ Samus a lot better than Normal.

Too much offensive play, especially for the Marth MU. The Dash Attacking needs to take a break, it was shielded half the time, and when it hit, it wasn't followed up. Try not to use standing grab, and keep your grabbing in general to a certain minimum. Stay back and spam more missiles, Zair when you're in range.

This is after the first match, and directed at the Samus. There were a few things the Marth could have better, but i'll remain limited to the request.

Samus should follow up missile cancels with a variety of moves, not just dash-grab (in fact dash-grab is the worst option once the opponent is conditioned to spot-dodge it). And I'll never understand why people dsmash when their back is to someone. turn & ftilt or turn a dtilt if you have it down. Or run away & RAR-> zair.

I personally think bombs should be used liberally on descent, particularly over the edge.

Samus should learn to upB OoS, there's no reason a samus player shouldn't be doing that.

Apart from that I really like the aggressive style against characters with no procjectile/reflector.

This is just from watching the 1st game.

Yes. If you dsmash on the ledge and they powershield it( sometimes works without ps) it will pop you off and you can jump out of it right away.
