We had such a great smash turnout last time that we have decided to focus
largely on the smash community so as to attract even more competition. This
focus will allow for a melee doubles tournament for which time did not previously
allow. You're welcome =)

Registration from 12:00pm-1:00pm. Tournaments to begin at 1:00pm.
Times for each specific tournament to be announced.

The Venue fee-10$
Singles-5$
Doubles-5$ each (Starting first)

Tv's, Wii's w/Brawl and Gamecube's w/Melee, will get you 5$ off your venue fee

Castle Golf's fighting game tournaments started two summers ago, but
weren't nearly as large as they are now. To account for such a massive
smash turnout, we will be concentrating solely on Brawl and Melee. However,
that is not to say that we will not hold other game tournaments in the future.
For time constraint reasons however, it would seem best to limit the event to
just 4 tournaments.

There will be 2 Games at the venue:

* Super Smash Brothers Brawl- Wii (Singles and Doubles)

* Super Smash Brothers Melee- GameCube (Singles and Doubles)

-> General Rules

-Random Knock-Out: Each player may choose to eliminate 1 of the random
stages to be chosen at the beginning of the set.

-Stage Banning: Each player/team may choose to eliminate any 2 stages.

-Advanced Slob Picks: Loser may choose the next stage or elect to go
random, then winner may choose to change characters, then loser may
change characters.

-Double blind for character selection may be used if a player wants to.

-> Other Rules & Special Issues

Controller mods of ANY kind (short-hop mod, L-trigger mod, etc),
except for cosmetic changes (paint job, different colored plastic), are
banned. If you are caught using a banned controller you will be
disqualified from the tournament.

Turbo or programmed buttons of any kind are banned. You may use
third party controllers or pads that have these features, but if you
are suspected of using the banned features you will not be allowed to
use that controller any longer.

Glitches used to stop your opponent from controlling their character
or indefinitely freezing them, or any glitch or trick that freezes the match
or makes it in any way unfinishable are banned. Using them will result in the
immediate forfeit of the match.

Tactics such as Jiggly's Rising Pound are allowed as methods of recovery or
to manuever around the stage. Using them (or any similar tactics) to excessively
stall a match, such as dropping below levels intentionally and stalling underneath,
is banned. Judges will be on the tournament floor can be called in at any time to
enforce this rule during a match.

It would be greatly appreciated that you bring your own controller but there
will be a couple up for borrow. Any controller is suitable for this tournament
(Gamecube/wii mote/nun chuck/classic), just make sure people around
you are not also syncing at the same time as you.

-> General rules:

-BRING YOUR OWN CONTROLLER.

-No modifications; an altered controller spells disqualification.

-No pausing in the middle of a match.

-No infinite stalls/freeze glitches.

- Dave's Modified Stupid Rule: No stage may be used twice in a single set if
the player choosing the stage has already won on that stage, unless both
players agree to use that stage.

- Stage Knock-out: Each player/team may choose to eliminate two of the
legal stages (neutral OR counterpick) to be chosen at the beginning of the set.

- Double blind character pick (may be called for the first game): A double
blind pick is when each player secretly tells a neutral third-party what
character they will use. The third party then announces the character
choices, and the players must stick with their character choices.

- Advanced Slob Picks (for the second or later game in a set): For a given game,
the loser of the previous game may either choose the next stage or elect to go
to a random stage. The winner of the previous game may then either change
character, or stay as their current character. The loser may then either change
character, or stay as their current character.

-Wobbling is allowed only if both players/teams agree to it.

ill be surprised if i aint banned from coming and yeah, do you have an idea of how the schedule will turn out? cause it might just be better to start all the tournaments at once with like 2 or 3 tvs for each one, and do pools for the first round to make it go alot quicker in the long run

Hey guys just letting everyone know that this time around, we'll make sure that there are 1-2 tv's set up for friendly matches at all times, hell, we'll even slap a label on the stations designated for casual play ;p

Any other suggestions would be great bc we can take them into account now and be set by the day of the event!

we put everyone iinto 5 or 6 person pools and the top first placers (and maybe second) moves onto a double elimination bracket from there cutting down the time and trouble of the tourney by a large margin

I really hope to see everyone there from last time! Its going to be sooo much bigger because we're going to go around to many local colleges and get alot of players from there. We are looking at an enormous turnout for this one. The last one we had 67 people, but we are defintly looking at around 100 people!

I stayed in winners until I think top 8 or 16, then made it one or two rounds further in losers, played as Lucario/Snake for the most part and went by fantom.

Al got second I think, I know he played some DDD, but dunno who else.

I actually didnt see the freakout because I had to leave when I was done (Which was why I was rushing), and I don't usually check back up on threads afterwards, lol.
