I mentioned this in a different topic a while back, but currently Ultimate doesn't have Coin Battle mode. I imagine it making a return if someone like Anna got in the game (I actually think it should return once she's playable). A neat easter egg they can add is changing the expression on Anna's face during Coin Battles. The more coins on screen/the more coins she collects, the bigger the grin her grin becomes.

And when there's a boatload of coins on screen, her excitement becomes less subtle like:

Also... someone talked me into making (blatantly fake) sound test leaks last Friday. I made one for our girl using my favorite misquote. Anna never said that in-game, and it's not the best impression ever, but it'd be hilarious if that was a special Coin Battle win quote or something.

So uh, not sure how many people here play Fire Emblem Heroes but regarding our red headed merchant in that game...

new years anna.png

Anna is finally getting an alt in Heroes, specifically a New Years alt on next weeks seasonal banner! Finally I feel like my CYL votes amounted to something. Hopefully it's a sign she will get more alts on future banners. Can't wait to pull for her next week!

1. Where did you get this from?
2. This looks pretty cool. Not gonna lie, probably going for Selkie or Lethe, just cause I need more beast units, and it's about time Eir got a variant, as Fjorm has three by now. Though as there are five, one of which is not going to be in redos on this event, most likely Eir is our free unit from say tempest trials or grand hero battles, as Anna already takes up the red spot. And also, why do they not have weapons or skills at 5 star lvl 40? That's something i'm not getting about this picture.

To answer the first question someone on reddit datamined the latest update from Heroes and found data of the New Years units coming out next week. As for the second question.

Eir is the free unit you can get on an upcoming Tempest Trial event. Anna will available from summoning on the New Years banner so there won't be any color overlap. Skills you can see here.

So yep, definetly going for Selkie, she looks pretty broken with her A skill.

Fire Emblem Heroes has started up their Choose Your Legend event again this year. They are also still stubborn about splitting Anna's votes up again so anyone who is planning to vote for Anna this year should be voting for this one right here...

And now Three Houses Anna is also in the mix meaning Anna's votes will probably be even more splintered than before. That along with the fact that Heroe's Anna actually got an alt after three years makes me worry she won't get enough this time either. So help me, if Anns ends up taking up 3rd, 4th, and 5th places because of this... Best to rally behind Awakening Anna, again!
I'm surprised they haven't just done an all Anna banner by this point to be honest. :psycho:

Anna would actually be a very good idea for a Smash game Fire Emblem REP. Unlike all of the other FE playable Characters she has a diverse moves which can reach multiple directions. and Is not just another Generic Sword user. I think she would be cool and unorthodox to have in a smash game, and I therefore endorse this proposal.

So, I haven't seen anyone discussing this image in-detail in this thread...

B17-059HN_artwork.png

In this Anna collection, who is the central Anna? It looks like an original design to me, though with influences from Fates (which I don't see anywhere else?) and Warriors (who I see on the side. Also, which Anna is the version in blue at the top, in-between the NES and GBA Annas? Also, I love how the Tokyo Mirage Sessions Anna is there at all...

Something something Byleth stole Anna's spot!!!
But they use multiple weapons which is part of why Anna would've been cool so it's not all bad~

Also, something something Anna is alive and finally got an alt, so I'll obligatorily post my build so far:

And finally, something something vote for Awakening Anna for CYL4~

The center one is Fates, but as an Adventurer rather than Outlaw.
The blue one on top is Thracia.

Yeah, I'm glad someone got a weapon-switching mechanic at least. Definitely makes the FE non-clone cast feel more well-rounded.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, okay. Interesting that they didn't pick the Fates portrait design. As for me not recognizing Thracia... Well, I hope nobody can blame me for that haha.

Now, I'm not well versed in Fire Emblem Cipher but I do believe the reason Anna is an Adventurer on that card is that it is supposed to be the 'promoted version' of this card that was released at the same time that has her as an Outlaw.

Would have been nice if Anna brought using multiple weapons to Smash but I think it makes since for Byleth to use different types of weapons for his moveset since in Three Houses you could make any character use any weapon type you wanted them to. Oh well, guess I can hope for Anna's chance when Smash 6 comes around and recently I have been trying to theorycraft a new moveset for Anna involving daggers and staves because they are the only two weapon types left not represented in Smash and it would fit Anna since she is in the Trickster or an equilanvent class in most games.

Also, something something Anna is alive and finally got an alt, so I'll obligatorily post my build so far:

Nice, looks quite similar to a skillset I gave her except I run Slaying Bow so Iceberg always go off after Special Spiral activates and Mirror Strike to boost Res more instead of Def. Have you considered running Glacies and Flashing Blade to go with Brave Bow since I think her speed will still be high enough for Flashing Blade to work against most opponents and then you could constantly activate Glacies constantly.

I have! It's one of multiple sets I have available (I even have Swift Sparrow 4 to go along with it). I just usually like to have my Flashing Blade on my Fallen Corrin.

The recency bias is all too obvious from these midterm results; just as I feared, it's loaded with Three Houses characters everywhere. Awakening Anna is the only Anna in the top twenty, so I guess she is the one folks rallied to, but it will take a lot more to beat the power of recency bias from the casuals! lol

They should have made an extra rule that characters are only eligible after their game/chapter has been out for over a year. Then the top two females would likely be Anna and Eirika as the order of old would desire! lol
There are some hilarious things about those results. Itsuki is in the top 20 of the males? Really?! That only proves the power of recency bias for sure! lol What in the world is plumeria doing up there? Don't tell me her description of "Lewd Dream" is actually the very thing all those voters are after! lol And poor poor Marth has been screwed into third place YET AGAIN! The very year all his notable competition is gone is the very year that two new male lords backed by recency bias have to pop up and force him into third place for the THIRD time! Yep, they definitely should've made a "more than one year" rule! lol

At the same time, 6 months later and people are still singing praises for 3H, so it's not just the fact that it's a recent game. Also, Awakenjng Anna being the fanfav Anna makes sense as you HAVE to meet her in the main game, whereas she's paid DLC in the rest of the games she's playable

So midterms are up and Anna is currently in 9th place for females huh. Would be nice if she was top 5 or something but I'm still happy she is currently ranked that high even if the top 10 is dominated by Three Houses characters. I'm going to keep voting for Awakening Anna because I would like her to at least beat Plumeria. Also, Anna is still more popular than Robin and Corrin this year as well so can we have her in the next Smash Bros game instead of them?

Yep, I'm pretty sure the reason people are voting for Plumeria is the same reason people voted for Camilla and Loki in previous years along with the "Lewd Dreams" crap.

Not necessarily. In Awakening you recruited Anna from a Paralogue which was completely optional but I guess that means you were more likely to come across her more easily than being forced to buy DLC to see her and Awakening Anna is the first playable Anna which is memorable for the series and probably sticks out in people's mind.

You can add me to the support list even though I know she stands no chance and honestly if Sakurai adds another Fire Emblem character to Smash I legit would feel scared for the mans life/well being.

That being said Im a decent sized FE fan (I personally think Byleth was the best character in the fighters pass btw) and if any FE character deserves to be in Smash its Anna considering she has been in almost every FE game to date and the only character to appear in more than 1 game (not including spin-offs). Also I need an Anna amiibo.

I support her but mainly for the amiibo so I probably wont be posting in here often.

While I would have liked to see Anna do better, I don't think that "the fastest-selling Fire Emblem game of all time is doing very well in the first Choose Your Legends poll since the game released" is really a flaw in the system? It's definitely what I'd expect to happen, especially when plenty of the TH characters succeeding in the poll aren't in the game at all, while longstandingly-popular characters like Eirika and Marth are already in the game four times each...

Awakening Anna is the first playable Anna which is memorable for the series and probably sticks out in people's mind.
Awakening being a lot of people's first FE game can't hurt either.

This...I always wished Nintendo released an Anna amiibo when Fire Emblem Warriors came out but I don't think they even make new amiibos anymore except for Smash Bros now.

So the only non three houses characters on the list were
Marth
Chrom
Seliph
Eirika
Plumeria
Male Robin
Anna
7 out of the top 20. Pathetic.
Damn bro you're telling me that the newest game in a series that has great characters people love and is overall considered one of the best games in the series, even a damn sight better than Awakening and especially Fates, and is loved by old and new fans alike, and doesn't have many characters in Heroes yet actually dominated the poll????? Wild!!!!!!

I just... feel like it's overrated in this. I agree, more three houses heroes need to be in heroes, but there really needs to be more originality in the polls. Now, let's not continue this so we don't start an argument.

Anna ended up in 9th place for female characters, in Choose Your Legends 4.

Not enough for an alt sadly, but I'm happy she's as high up as she is, especially with all the Three Houses dominance across the board.
That's fairly decent placing, all things considered. Congratulations to Golden Deer for being the one House with two characters who won the poll.

Got best girl as my 3rd Anniversary Special Hero free summon this morning in FEH.
Wow, nice! I'm glad some people do get the characters they'd like for those free summons.

Anna ended up staying in 9th place for women and got 15th place overall. I'm still happy she managed to stay in top 20 this year and hopefully her Awakening variant gets added to Heroes sometime this year.

For those curious of how Anna from the other games place; Heroes Anna got rank 55, Three Houses Anna got rank 120 and Fates Anna got rank 173.

Got best girl as my 3rd Anniversary Special Hero free summon this morning in FEH.
Wow, congrats! Was she the unit you wanted most from the special summon?

Meanwhile, I got second best girl L'Arachel in her Halloween outfit for my free summon who was actually the one character I wanted to get.

Hi! While I liked :ultbyleth:, am I the only one who wishes Anna was FP5 if it HAD to be an FE character? She could even keep the Garreg Mach Monastery stage and throw in a couple Heroes tracks along with TH tracks. Here’s a moveset and Classic Mode I made for her:
Intro: Same intro as all the other FE characters.

Stance/Idle 1: The Trickster idle animation from Awakening, with her signature gesture.

Idle 2: Anna mimics her promotion pose from Awakening.

Idle 3: Anna mimics her render pose from Warriors.

Notable Palette Swaps:
-Heroes (default)
-Trickster (Yellow)
-Outlaw (Red)
-Merchant (Green)
-Shio (Blue)
-Path of Radiance (Orange)
-Hot Spring Scramble (White)
-Thracia 776 (Green)

Walk: Anna sneaks mischievously.

Jog: Anna skips along the ground.

Dash: Anna’s run animation as a Trickster from Awakening.

Damage: Anna’s damage animation as a Trickster from Awakening.

Jump: Anna jumps using one foot, and then twirls slyly.

Crouch: Anna sits down, constantly tapping her sword on the ground.

Weapon of Choice: Anna uses a variety of weapons at her disposal.

Jab: Anna quickly slashes twice with her sword (6% off, small knockback), flurries with it (2%-4% off each hit, small knockback) and finishes with a twirling uppercut (7% off, OK knockback)
Forward+A: Anna spins her sword, hitting the target twice (8% off, OK knockback)
Down+A: Anna slides her sword under the target’s feet (5% off, small knockback)
Up+A: Anna’s Trickster finisher from Awakening (9% off, OK knockback)

Air+A: Anna stabs on both of sides of her with sword (8% off, OK knockback)
Air Forward+A: Anna stabs forward with her lance (12% off, OK knockback)
Air Back + A: Anna quickly slashes three times with her sword (9% off, OK knockback
Air Up+A: Anna stabs upward with her lance (13% off, OK knockback)
Air Down+A: Anna spins downward multiple times with her axe (16% off with a meteor effect for free, OK knockback)

Dash Attack: Anna jumps up and slams back down (11% off, OK knockback)
Edge Attack: Anna disappears in a puff of Warp Powder and slashes the target (8% off, small knockback)
Get-Up Attack: Anna dispenses 8 gold as she frantically gets up (1% off each, small knockback)

Smash Moves
Forward+A: Sunder; Anna holds her sword like Marth’s Shield Breaker, and stabs forward (17% off, OK knockback)
Up+A: Anna jabs upwards with her lance (24% off, medium knockback); this charges and is used extremely fast, but leaves Anna with a bit of endlag.
Down+A: Overrun; Anna slashes in a 360 spin across the ground (27% off, medium knockback); she is surrounded by winds that blow away opponents not caught in the hitbox.

Grab: Anna grabs the target with a Warp stave in her left hand.
Pummel: Anna pokes the target with her sword (1%)
Forwards+Throw: Anna warps the target and launches them forward (9% off, OK knockback)
Down+Throw: Anna warps the target and spikes them (12% off, OK knockback)
Back+Throw: Anna warps the target behind her and launches them (8% off, OK knockback)
Up+Throw: Anna warps the target and jabs upwards at them with her sword (11% off, OK knockback)

Special Moves

B : Steal/Black Market; When B is tapped, Anna gets out a bag and runs around out of control, in which pressing A has her charge at the target and steal 15 Gold (10% off, OK knockback; she can also steal the opponent’s item). When B is held, Anna can purchase one of 3 weapons with the Gold she stole; this can be canceled out by shielding.
B + Forwards : Lance Jab; Anna dashes forward with her lance.
B + Up : Rewarp; Anna teleports herself a long distance (slightly more than standard teleport recoveries) in the direction the player holds the control stick.
B + Down : Helm Splitter; Anna readies her axe, and walks forward for 7 seconds as long as B is held down. When the time is up, she attacks with her axe.

Final Smash: Anna-ttack!; A light glistens, and piles of treasure appear under any opponents who make contact with the light (8% off). The trapped opponents are then taken into a cutscene where a swarm of other Annas run towards the real one, and then maul the other fighters thinking Anna is among them (60% off, devastating violence on sale!)

Gimmick: Black Market; Anna can steal Gold from other fighters (which become Coins on Mario stages, Rupees on Zelda stages, or Rings on Sonic stages) with a tap of B (or she can earn up to 5 at a time, either though combos or K.O.’s). She starts off with 50 Gold, and the most she can carry is 200. When she has enough required Gold, she can buy one of 3 weapons via a menu that pops up by holding B.

The weapons she buys (which are upgrades to her starting weapons) have durability that deplete with use, similar to Robin’s Levin Sword and Tomes.

Her staring weapons are:
-Bodkin; a small dagger used for quick but weak attacks.

-Lance; an ordinary ance used for stronger basic attacks (Side B does 16% damage, OK knockback)

-Hand Axe; a small axe that Anna throws and returns to her (Down B does 13% damage, OK knockback). This does heavy shield damage.

With 50 Gold, she can buy:
-Iron Sword; a more basic yet serviceable sword. By tapping B, Anna’s Neutral B becomes Wrath Strike, in which she can perform a powerful slash by pressing B (17% off, OK knockback), using ⅓ of its durability.

-Iron Lance; a more powerful lance than the basic lance. Lance Jab travels nearly 1.5x the distance with the basic lance, using ⅓ of its durability.

-Iron Axe; a heavy axe that can’t be thrown. Helm Splitter becomes an attack where Anna slams down on the ground in front of her (21% off, medium knockback), using ½ its durability; this can nearly break shields instantly.

With 100 Gold, she can buy;
-Fólkvangr; the personal weapon of Alfonse, one of the main characters of FE Heroes. Anna’s Neutral B becomes Sol, in which she turns the sword into a pillar of light and slams a large area in front of her (23% off, medium knockback). This uses ½ the weapon’s durability.

-Leiptr; the personal weapon of Fjorm, one of the main characters of FE Heroes Book II. With this lance of ice, Anna’s Side B distance is the same as with a basic lance, but makes up for it by freezing opponents on contact (20% off, medium knockback). This uses ¼ of the weapon’s durability.

-Nóatún; Anna’s personal weapon in Heroes. Her Down B becomes Night Sky, in which Anna charges faster for 2 less seconds. Once the charge is complete, she slams down with extreme force (31% off, far knockback), creating a shockwave that attacks around her (12% off, OK knockback). This attack instantly breaks shields, but deals less damage (11% off, OK knockback). Regardless, this attack uses ½ the weapon’s durability.

Taunts
1: “Tee-hee!” Anna performs her trademark pose while holding her sword backhanded.
2: “Cha-Ching!” Anna’s victory animation from Awakening.
1+2: “Here it comes…” Anna glares forward with her trademark pose; the glare is taken from her critical hit portrait from Awakening.

Winposes
1: “Violence is on sale today!” Her victory animation from Awakening.
2: “Who’s next in line?” Anna mimics her artwork pose from Awakening.
3: Anna gets chased to the right by an army of pre-Awakening Annas with pitchforks, running away with Bullions.

Applause: Anna empties her bag, only to find nothing.

I fully support Anna for smash.

She was my most wanted FE character alongside Lyn for Ultimate and i feel like she already should've been added a while ago at this point. She could represent pretty much every aspect of Fire Emblem without having to overload the roster :v

And to me, she's also one of the few FE characters that actually feels like a person and not just a walking generic anime trope.

You can count me in, i'm a bit late but hey, better late than never, right ?

B + Down : Helm Splitter; Anna readies her axe, and walks forward for7 seconds as long as B is held down.

With 100 Gold, she can buy;

Winposes

Are you kidding? Not only have I wanted Anna in Smash for the longest time, but when I heard that :ultbyleth: would be using the gimmick I was hoping for her to have, I was left feeling so disappointed that she'd now be considered redundant by the Smash fandom.

FEH released an Awakening-themed banner with...an Anna alt based on that one DLC map?

That weapon bag is pretty much how I'd expect Anna to carry her weapons in Smash.
Well, that's awesome. I will definitely be pulling for her.

That said, that banner is weird overall. We get a one-off Awakening boss, a dubless Awakening character, the NPC version of Anna, and a mythic OC? In a regular banner? I guess the pandemic hit their development hard...

The pandemic is probably why Say'ri's English clips are going to be released at a later date.

In fact, this is the first time I've seen a character with JP voice clips in an English version trailer.

Yeah, I assume that's the reason - heck, Tokyo Mirage Sessions isn't dubbed on Switch but is dubbed within Heroes. It's just interesting to see when the backlog seemingly runs dry... I'm glad they're keeping actors safe while still producing more content though.

Nice to see Intelligent Systems started considering my CYL votes for Anna in Heroes. And I'm thankful that I made the smart decision to save orbs for the last two years just so I could show my devotion to her.

I'm starting to wonder if it is too much to ask for a fourth Anna (preferably a colorless one) just to complete an 'Anna Emblem' team at this point.
