The last time Melee was in a best game bracket, we got to the finals. Halo beat world of warcraft in semi finals and it was gonna be halo vs melee for best game ever. but they disqualified both melee and halo. Lol the admins of that site (i forget what it was called) themselves werebutthurt that WoW didn't win.

Halo isn't that recent and the Wii has its own seperate trend. The Wii is all "party" mini games but eveything else is summed up by that pic.

Halo Reach was released less than three months ago.
The Wii and all it's annoying games take up a huge part of the industry and thus are relevant; Wii Sports has sold over 67 million copies.

It's hard to find good video games these days. Not that they don't exist, but yeah it's pretty much down to dumbed down, easily accessible, mass-advertised video games to appeal to the masses.

My favorite FPS game is Unreal Tournament 2004, and that was the last game to be released from the genre of "Fast Paced FPS." Quake Live (Quake 3 Arena) is faster, but this genre is basically dead.

The only thing close to it, though its still considered "Modern", is Brink, which is basically the game "Mirror's Edge" but with weapons:
