Brawl Demo Character Select Screen Revealed!

No characters outside of what's been revealed on the Dojo will be playable at the demo.

But I pretty much got confused at the selection screen. The background is dark, but any information we've seen about the menus imply that it's white, very white. Bright, moreso. I'm having major doubts that the selection screen comes even close to what is really gonna happen.

You wouldn't be able to use any Kirby hats for characters you couldn't battle against anyway... Kirby may have been changed, and Sakurai doesn't want to give the game away.

We've got... Mario, Donkey Kong, Link, Samus, Fox, Pikachu, Diddy, Pit, Meta Knight, Ike, Peach, Yoshi, Sonic, Bowser, and something white with black writing... dunno what it says... random, maybe?

Translation of article: Basically, this guy says he thinks Brawl feels very similar to Melee. You can pick up one of the veterans and be able to play them immediately. He also says that the smash ball comes out just like a normal item comes out, and that for the wiimote + nunchuck setup, the jump button is the up key on the D pad (thank god for customizable controls).

Sorry, but the page says that the jump button is up on the d-pad for the wiimote alone (when holding is horizontally, that is), not when using wiimote + nunchuck:

Yeah, unless you go to the joint yourself (not possible for us Aus players ) you wont be playing any demo.

They'll make vids of people playing and such.

It's at E For All by the way. Google it.

Although I didn't find anything on the main site that said anything about Smash... Can anyone help me out with that, when did anyone say there'd be a Brawl demo at E For All?

Erm, it doesn't say the wiimote alone. In fact, it says that the people who originally used a button to jump should use the classic controller instead of the wiimote + nunchuck setup (implying that you wont be able to easily hit the button, i.e. having Up on the D Pad doesn't work very well, which isn't the case with the sideways wiimote). Plus, you can assume that he's referring to the wiimote + nunchuck setup because he doesn't even mention the sideways wiimote setup at all.

I see where you're coming from, but if you read into the implied meanings, then it makes sense.

So two of them (Wii Remote and Classic controller) were available. Yes, it doesn't specifically say "wiimote alone", but:

If he's saying that the commercial version of the game will have the wiimote+nunchuck and gamecube controller in addition to the ones available at the expo, that means that those two weren't at the expo.

I understand your reasoning behind his recommendation, but I think what he really had in mind was that "if you're not used to jumping using the left hand, you'll be better off using the Classic controller (because it has jump button(s) on the right side just like the GC controller)":

And can someone zoom in on the pic of the roster, because the player 1 character is either Tails or Diddy Kong from wat I can tell (f*** the first, be the later...even if he is confirmed ).

And Kirby isn't there, because King Dedede will be. (or so I'm guessing...it could happen, since no one with a quater of a brain doubts him)

Player 1 is Pit. And if this is the same character selection that will be available at E For All then Dedede won't be on there, because he's not on there.

Most definitely not the finished product. And IMO, it looks like they pulled out a character last minute because of some technical flaws or because they felt he/she wasn't balanced yet, hence the white spot.

I guess Sakurai's not as close to completion as he thought he was. Very disappointing news.

P.S.- Is that a schoolbus yellow Pit I see in the player one spot? Gross...

Ooh! Ooh! I got it!

A) More than one Smashball will come out during gameplay.
B) Zamus is pickable from the start.

Either one is awesome, but I'd rather it be the latter.
