Brawl Demo Character Select Screen Revealed!

Most definitely not the finished product. And IMO, it looks like they pulled out a character last minute because of some technical flaws or because they felt he/she wasn't balanced yet, hence the white spot.

I guess Sakurai's not as close to completion as he thought he was. Very disappointing news.

P.S.- Is that a schoolbus yellow Pit I see in the player one spot? Gross...

1. Demo games don't tend to show off a variety of features from the actual product. Did you really expect them to have all of the characters on the Dojo available?

2. That 'white spot' is a random select icon.

1. Captain Falcon and Ness have not been revealed on the Dojo as of yet. Zelda is being excluded because of her down+b obviously. And Kirby with the Kirby hats.

2. I'm assuming that they found it tedious.

You cannot draw conclusions from this in any form, for it is only a demo. You shouldn't have expected more.

I think it's due to the fact that the game is a demo, and people new to the game wouldn't think to click outside the box.

Hmm... They may just be asuming that he's made it in like everyone else. I mean, we have proof that he's not in the demo... but isn't it obvious that they wouldn't leave him out of Brawl?

LOL, That would suck so much! Anyway about the demo select screen, I think the white box is a "locked" character. Like in SSB64 & SSBM. Maybe that's Luigi? Or Master Hand blah forget it.

Odds are, both of those are correct. They've done a lot to make this game and its menus aesthetically pleasing. I wouldn't doubt that the character choice images shrink as they multiply.

What they're saying is Kirby's Copying Ability may not be complete. You have to understand how much work has gone into making that move for both games, both designing the attachments, getting the sounds to work, animations, etc.

...when I see that white square next to Bowser... I see a post-it note, covering a character choice. It almost looks like the bottom is peeling up just a bit... not enough to reveal anything, though.

I think this is our character select screen....see how big the icons are....if you count how many possible spots could fit on that screen without overlapping the selected characters at the bottom...you come up with 40 slots......

Well there's 6 character in the bigger rows, looks like you can fit another 2 slots on either side for a max of 10 in each row... for 3 rows that's 30 characters. Unless they decide to position some characters to the sides of the player spots, we might be stuck with 30. (Though I doubt that's the case. At least 34-35 characters should be in as the final result. Just shrink the icons a bit.)

The demo's backgrounds looks very simple, but in the final release it would look so much better. Maybe there will be a random animated fight in the background? I would love that feeling.

Oh, I just realized I never even answered your question Mad555. The answer is: "No. There have been no announcements as to whether a demo will be released to the globe." But that doesn't mean we can't pray for one!

Captain Falcon will no longer be a portrain on the Select Screen. It will show his full body and rippling abs, and when you select him, he knees another character in the face.

I think that a demo would be such a big money maker for Nintendo. It'd be the eaisest $10 million they've ever made.
