Teams will always be chaotic, there's no fixing that unless we screw over the minus mentality. I vote for crews. We can fix it so that there's no polarizing force, but not in time for Apex, is for sure. So crews plz so we dont get all Jiggly Ganon teams or Sonic Link teams taking top 24.

Seriously, the hitstun in Minus doubles makes it almost unbearable unless you play a character who benefits highly from it(Ganon, Lucario) or who can avoid getting hit all together (MK, Sonic).

lmao that sounds way harder in Minus, Kelvin XD

Brawl- doubles isn't any more "chaotic" than any other form of Smash doubles.

You just have to, you know, not be a blithering idiot. You can't be mindless and go crazy and ballistic with OMG IT'S BRAWL- I CAN ATTACK NOW LET ME COMPLETELY INSANE LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL you actually have to focus and be smart.

You guys never played doubles in Melee or 64? Team combos in those games are more devastating than in Brawl-.

Are you serious? There's a reason no one even plays 64 doubles and that's because the combos are devastating as hell. The combos in Melee are good ya but the hitstun/punishment possibilities are at least twice as good in Minus with gay **** that kills you at ******** low percents and moves/throws with so much hitstun and put you in terrible positions.

Not to mention thanks to the fact that the game is sped up and a bunch of characters have a dumb amount of movement capabilities which makes getting to your partner to combo ****/makes people randomly come out of nowhere...it just isn't that fun imo

I saw 64 doubles at many Smash tournaments back when Isai/Sensei/etc. were active and wanted them hosted. Doubles went fine. Lots of cool team death combos. You know the other part that helps negate how devastating they are? A partner can save you.

Melee team combos kill you way more easily than Brawl- team combos. Know why? I guess not since you don't play Melee. It's because you can't recover in that game. Most Brawl- characters have ridiculous recovery and saving abilities, while characters in Melee are usually completely screwed when they are off-stage.

Who did you play Brawl- teams with? N00bs? Me, Doom, Zucco, and dmbrandon played for about two hours and had a blast without anything too stupid happening. Only things that bothered me were Doom sandbagging too much (which is something a lot of you ******s do in friendlies who are arrogant but not that good to cover for your losses because you don't want to lose when trying to win) and Wolf being broken.

And all characters have amazing/unpunishable recoveries in this game? >.>

Death combos in teams are cool, ya, but doesn't make it funner than crews, which would be amazing for a game with as much hype as this one.

You just want doubles for everything, so not like you would listen to me

Dang, so I proved Brawl- doubles is fine, so you fall back on an ad hominem saying I'm just going for doubles only because I like it to discredit my arguments and get draft crews put in instead?

Eat a ****, ya ****. :bee:

No, you didn't prove anything, you just said "When I played Brawl- Doubles it was fine", which is worse than an ad hominem in formal debate, that's circumstantial 'evidence' and would never be accepted into a court of law, but you wouldn't understand that because you play too many PW games where they just accept anything into evidence without voir dire or ANYTHING.

Go take a debate class in college, honestly your debate style is starting to sicken me, Lucas.

Always preferred singles, and crews personally, something about em makes em seem more epic to me.
Brawl- doubles are far from fine imo, just a preference.

Really don't see a need to get so srs tho.

Also luigi is fine, guess some people miss automatically winning after nair hits.

This isn't even about Minus doubles anymore, so much as it is Lucas thinking he "got me" by "proving" anything, when neither of us even proved ANYTHING just stated our biased opinions based on our experiences and preferences, which as a law major irks me, a LOT.

Also, what I say wasn't even an ad hominem, it was characterization due to MANY times in the past, and in this very thread, saying you want doubles over anything no matter what

We could seriously do Brawl - singles, doubles and crews if we started it on saturday at 10 30 because we have til 3 am for side events. wouldnt it be much more logical to do it with the other side events instead of on sunday at noon when singles bracket is still going??????????? makes a lot of sense and im sure more people will be there on saturday rather then sunday, possibility of more entrants!

Day 2

* 9:00am – 10:30am : Check-in/Warm-up
* 10:30am – 2:30pm : First round of Melee Singles pools / First round of Brawl Singles pools
* 2:30 - 6:30pm : Second Round of Melee Singles pools/ Second Round of Brawl Singles pools
* 6:30pm - 8:30pm - First 2 Rounds of Melee Singles Bracket/First 2 Rounds of Brawl Singles Bracket
* 10:30pm – 3:00am : Brawl + Side event begins / SSB64 Side event begins

and if by some smalll chance we didnt finish all of it on saturday theres time at 6 PM - 11 30 on sunday when regional crews is goin on, i hope some how during that time the people that are in regional crews that would play brawl minus have time to play, but its something we really wouldn't need to worry about because saturday at ten would be enough time.

Day 3

* 9:00am – 10:30am : Check-in/Warm-up
* 10:30am –5:30pm : Brawl Singles bracket continued/ Melee Singles bracket continued
* 6:00pm - 11:30pm : Regional Crews begins
* 11:30pm – Event Ends

why are u guys not wanting to do it on saturday with the other side events in the first place???
