Best Pokemon for Every Type? (OU)

Every type has different Pokemon. Which Pokemon of a specific do you think is the best in standard play?

----

Heatran is the best Fire-type OU right now. He doesn't get killed by SR, absorbs Fire-type moves, etc. Scarftran is nearly mandatory on most teams. Infernape is a distant second place.

Infernape is so different from Heatran it's hard to compare.

Overall, Heatran fits into teams better. Like you said, he has a lot of abilities that are so good and allow him to just be worked many different ways.

Infernape however, while not as easy to play as Heatran, definitely is just as good if not better. Find a place for him on the right team and I guarantee you'll knock down 2-3 Pokemon with just him alone. His movepool allows him to surprise people, force switches and even kill things when it's expected. He's fragile and tough to get out though, so you always have to make sure he works to his maximum potential or else his slot would have been better filled by other Pokemon.

I think Infernape is better than Heatran in terms of actual play at high levels and maximum potential. For laddering though, Heatran may be a better option.

For psychic I'd say Gardevoir, while Alakazam might be more speedy, Gardevoir has a very diverse movepool and is much more bulky, only missing 10 SPatk to Alakazam. Not to mention, Trace = greatness if it traces stuff like Flash Fire, Volt Drive, ext... (And its god if it traces Wounderguard.)

The best electric is obviously Pikachu with an amazing 90 base speed and an item that doubles it's already insanely powerful around 50 base attacks. Coupled with having the only Double-edge electric move AND nasty plot if it can pull it off, Pikachu is a force to be reckoned with on both the physical and special spectrum

/end sarcasm

It's kind of hard to rate with all the dual-types. When you think of something you normally think of their main type, not their secondary so it's hard to tell which is the best.

When you think of Salamence, you think of dragon, not flying, and when you think of Gengar, you think Ghost, not poison.

Aw, I thought it was Pure, not duel, otherwise it would be Metagross...

Still, Gardevoir has potential that no one uses >.> The only thing I have to worry about is a Metagross and a Dragonite with a yatchi berry, otherwise I'm golden.

I don't think that Scizor is the best Bug-type, as it dies pretty quickly. On the other hand, Yanmega divided by Stealth Rock equals death, so I don't see any alternative.
Scizor doesn't die quickly at all. It's typing plus Roost allows it to live forever. That thing can take mad hits.

sonic...DUH!

I vote empoleon for water, he has good defense and sp. atk. and 13 resistances, and don't remember how many weaknesses but not many.

Arcanine for fire, it has the highest base stats (except for legendary and psuedo) and his speed and sp. atk. are good to

*sigh*

Both of those Pokemon have CRAPTACULAR movepools. Empoleon may have plentiful resistances but it's weaknessess (Fighting, Electic, Ground) are all extremey common in OU play. He lacks the movepool of a good wall, but isn't strong enough to be a good sweeper.

Arcanine has access to Flare Blitz. Other than that, it has no redeeming qualities.

I had an anti-lead Arcanine that worked REALLY well before the platinum update.

Arcanine @ Life Orb/Expert Belt
Intimidate
252 atk, 252 speed, 4 hp
Flare Blitz
Crunch
Thunder Fang
Extremespeed

I ended up defeating a lot of Azelfs and Deoxys. Gengars who missed Hypnosis were OHKO'd by Crunch. Stupid Bronzongs who stayed in are OHKO'd by Flare Blitz. Gyarados 2HKO'd by Thunder Fang and Extremespeed.

Really gutsy, but hey, Arcanine is my favorite Pokemon :059: so I wanted a way to make him useful.

Tyranitar destroys this Arcanine.

Heatran really ***** Flare Blitz though, lol. Plus if you run Life Orb, the Flare Blitz recoil is so freaking suicidal. But hey, Arcanine is meant to be used in a manly fashion, so I did it.

...

Anyway, this was all before Platinum. The new teams and movesets render my Arcanine-featured team useless.

wobuffet is best psychic
snorlax is on par with blissey IMO, because they're both cheap and versatile and cant die at all.

I only play 3rd gen so I could be wrong with the current updates

The only one that I don't know is burmy...

I lol'd at Slugma, I never managed to attack anyone with him:laugh:.
I think Amphoros is a good electric type, and Umbreon is a good dark type- he may not be powerful, but has great defense. He can survive a few earthquakes.

Add to that sarcasm, pika is not OU.

And who said Garchomp earlier? According to Smogon, it's uber for now. Same goes for Deoxys-e.

The best Electric in OU is Electivire, hands down. Zapdos takes close second.
