Alice Margatroid Wins![/collapse]
[collapse=Summary]The first BotW of the new season was a battle between Kirbyraeg and Fuelbi, both fairly old members of the pokecenter. Fuelbi is mostly known for his spriting skills, but has participated in a previous BotW which he lost to UltiMario. Kirbyraeg is known for his creative battling strategies and has been successful in smashboard tourneys. This battle was in Dream World OU.
Since the match did not take place under wifi clause, each combatant sent out a lead without any foreknowledge of their opponents team. Fuel chose a Celebi lead while Kirbyraeg led with Dragonite. Fuelbi's Celebi started out by setting up Stealth Rock, only to be OHKO'd by Dragonite's Dragon Jewel Draco Meteor, leaving Kirbyraeg with a quick 6-5 advantage right off the bat. Fuelbi then switched in Magnezone who was outsped and OHKO'd by Earthquake. The game was quickly shaping up to be a blowout, with 2 kills on the first two turns, but Fuelbi still had a chance for a comeback. Fuelbi finally was able to kill Dragonite with his Kingdra, but not before taking hefty damage from Life Orb recoil, -2 Draco Meteor, and Aqua Jet. Kirbyraeg decided to switch in Chansey to take any attacks from Kingdra with its godly defenses and hope to kill it from LO damage. However, Kingdra hurt itself in confusion leaving Kirbyraeg with a pending Wish and a 5-3 advantage. Fuel switched in Jaroda on Chansey in order to take advantage of Chansey's huge HP to leech seed it and to get Special Attack boosts with perversity Leaf Storm. Kirbyraeg set up Stealth Rock with Chansey on the Leech Seed and then switched to his Ninetales on the Leaf storm, losing around a third of his health. Fuelbi, scared of a Fire Blast from Ninetales switched in politoed to switch the weather back to rain and to sponge the Fire Blast easily, however kirbyraeg predicted this or something similar and switched into Chansey who easily walls Politoed. Unfortunately for Kirbyraeg, Fuel's politoed used Toxic which majorly hindered Chansey's walling ability. Chansey and Politoed spent a couple of turns wasting time protecting and wishing, until kirbyraeg switched in his alakazam on an encore. Alakazam Psychic'd Politoed doing around 50% and landing a special defense drop wihle Politoed hit alakazam with toxic which was useless because of that dumb magic guard ability. They then got into an incredibly stupid protect stall war, until they were both at low health. Finally, fuel ended the war by switching in his Jarooda which was promptly 2HKO'd by Alakazam. Tentacruel was also killed by Alakazam at which point Fuel forfeited because he could not handle Alakazam with the rest of his team.
This reboot of BotW was very successful and a fun BotW to watch. The unique pokemon choices made it exciting and the result of a veteran win made it super awesome. [/collapse]

[collapse=Summary]The second match of the new BotW season was a face-off between two relatively little known members of the Poke Center. While Leafybug is a veteran of the Poke Center he doesn't post frequently and can rarely be found being active in the Poke Center. BLM is a fairly new addition to the Poke Center, but has become fairly well-known for his calling out of Ubers players in the Poke Center (Yeah BLM, I'd still **** you). The two fought in the Standard OU tier of the Fifth Generation.
The game began and people entered the match. For some reason I don't understand at all, they were battling without wifi clause (team reveal) on, so they did not see each others leads before the battle. BLM led with Erufuun while Leafybug led with a Hippowdon set up sand. Leafy then proceeded to set up Stealth Rock while BLM's Erufuun began his standard subseed shenanigans with a leech seed. Leafy then switched in his Liquid Ooze Balloon tentacruel to counter the Erufuun, however BLM leech seeded and taunted him anyway while tentacruel set up 1 layer of Toxic Spikes. Tentacruel scared Erufuun out after some substalling due to the health Erufuun was losing from sandstorm and liquid ooze. BLM switched in a Gorebyss to presumably set up a sweep with shell break or baton pass out, however he was met with a nattorei from Leafybug which scared him out. BLM countered Leafybugs Nattorei with a Roobushin, threatening to nail him with a drain punch, however Leafybug got up a layer of spikes on the switch, further racking up future entry hazard damage. Roobushin then Drain Punched Hippowdon several times while Hippowdon Earthquake'd/Slacked off a couple of times, wearing Roobushin down with Sandstorm and the poison damage as well as with Earthquake. BLM switched in his Venusaur absorbing the toxic spikes and presumably hoping to threaten Hippowdon with a grass move. Venusaur took a hefty chunk from Earthquake on the switch especially given spikes/sandstorm/stealth rock damage. BLM then predicting the switch to Nattorei switched back to his Roobushin. Roobushin with all the residual damage was down to only one more attack so he mach punch'd as Leafy switched in his physical wall Hippowdon to easily take it. The score was now 6-5 in Leafy's favor. BLM countered Hippowdon with a Ninetales hoping to kill it with a charge-up less Solar Beam. However, the Solar Beam was met with Latias who took it like the man that she's not. Latias then Calm Minded on the switch to Erufuun and then swept the rest of BLM's team with a combination of Dragon Pulse and Surf.
Week 2's BotW was a blow-out 6-0 by the Poke Center veteran over the newcomer. Hopefully this trend of veterans being awesome continues.
