For a guy who is supposed to come off as "humble" and "understanding", I don't understand why he is so upset about losing his starting spot to Bradley. Allen was injured for so much of the season, was a defensive liability, and the lineup with Bradley was giving the team wins. Plus, Allen was finishing games anyways. Iono why players make a big deal about not starting. It's more important if you finish.

What does he expect to do when he arrives in Miami or LA Clips? Be a 35 min starter?

holy crap

the Nets just offered Brook Lopez, Kris Humphries, Marshonn Brooks, and THREE 1st round picks for Dwight Howard.

Thoughts?

I'd take it, but then against those 1st round picks might be devalued if Nets do good.

Also, Joe + Dwight = eh.

Breaking News:

Jason Terry close to accepting Boston's 3 year, 15 mil offer. Has given Dallas a chance to match, but unlikely to do so.

I give Boston a lot of credit. They lose Ray Allen, and you replace him with the JET.

I'll agree on playing wherever you want, that's a given, but I think the reason for this is the fact that is because of the way you want to win

I mean winning on the team that you've practically your career in would probably be a lot sweeter than playing for a team w/ several All-Stars

winning a title on a team w/ several All-Stars would be kind of similar to ''taking the easy way out''

It also adds to the fact that w/ those several All-Stars on your team, that would mean that you don't have to play as hard as you did when you were w/ your previous team

I would like to add that when you get drafted by said team, they instantly welcome you w/ open arms, and they would do just about anything to accommodate you

I mean, that's just my take on it, feel free to criticize me on this
In that case, I get it. Considering the competition is extremely hard, initially I'd say just go to the best team. Especially if the team that drafted you is crap lol. However, considering the team is more considered a home, you do have a good point. Thanks man.

Nets without Howard are still looking pretty good. Brook lopez had solid games when he wasn't injured and Kris Humphries is coming off a great year. So granted Lopez plays decent, the Nets would be fine imo.

Two straight year Mavs get jacked
Tyson goes, lame Odom comes.
Now Terry might be gone.
And no ones getting younger on top of that lol

Not gonna lie, but I feel sort of bad for Dirk now. I thought a Dirk, Dwight next year, and Deron nucleus would have been beast.

Does this mean the Nets are out of the Dwight sweepstakes?

But still they have a pretty solid team now. Enough for the playoffs for sure.

I'm actually a bit concerned going forward. Their "young pieces" are now Bledsoe, Blake, Jordan, and CP3. Butler is in the middle. Then you're relying on guys like Billups and Odom to play heavy minutes.

CP3 hasn't signed any sort of extension yet, so I wonder if he's thinking of jumping ship after this year if things go south.

Bill Plaschke made an interesting point. CP3 and Dwight both love ATL. They can both go there next year and play alongside Josh Smith. Al Horford can make for good trade bait or come off and lead the bench.

maybe to make room for ray? i think letting evans go for ray allen would be reasonable.

if we can even get him that is...

cp3 + d12 + josh smith = retardedly good

i have faith in cp3 though. i think he likes the idea of bringing a title to the clippers. of course that could just be b.s.

there was no reason for him to sign the extension. no one in his position would sign it really.

Ok, so from a business perspective, I think this is a smart move by LA for two reasons.

1. It solidifies their PG position for 3 years to come. While Nash does lack on the defensive end, he hell of a lot makes up for it on the offensive end. Furthermore, it's also evident not many players can stop the most elite PGs when they enforce their will. It takes team defense rather than one on one.

2. The draft picks LA gave up imo have two sides to it. One side, no development of youth. On the other hand, their draft picks would not be worthy enough to get high prospects for a team that's window is steadily closing.

As far as my competitive side goes. I'm disappointed in Nash for having the Lakers as a team on his list. The Knicks I could understand, but this doesn't make sense to me at all. I guess at his point of the career, he wants to win one bad. Though you figure he could have just gone to Miami or OKC.

Yeah what happened to all of that BS about not joining the enemy?

You can't say **** now if Allen goes to the Heat.

:phone:
Uh, yes I can?

I'm happy, cause I'm an LA fan...that's just natural for me to be happy. However, from a competitive and objective standpoint, I am disappointed in him.

And even if I CHOSE to defend Nash on this, I can at least say he doesn't have a ring compared to Allen. But I already stated Nash could have picked other teams to go too including Miami.

I sort of hate the "gotta be close to my kids" reason...unless they are living in LA, doesn't really make much sense to me.

Also, Nash is trying to convince Grant Hill to come over as well.

Its just funny how you were propping up Nash and trying to belittle Allen for not being like Nash and then look what happens. Lol nothing wrong with admitting you were wrong. Its gonna be extremely ironic now if Ray stays with the Celtics...

Im glad Nash went to the Lakers instead of the Knicks or Toronto. If they can make the pieces fit properly they'll challenge OKC for sure. Hopefully Mike Brown doesn't **** up. We're in for some exciting basketball.

I honestly don't know what the hell you are talking about. I was propping up Nash because he HIMSELF SAID that he could not see himself on a team like the Lakers or Heat. How the hell was I supposed to know he was going to change his mind about that? There's nothing ironic about a guy changing his mind about anything. The better term is hypocrisy.

Am I wrong for talking about something he himself said at that time? Again, how was I suppose to know he was gonna turn heel on that? I don't have to be "admitting you were wrong" about anything. Really, the only thing I'll admit being wrong about is believing in Nash's words. But that doesn't mean I can't criticize him or Allen.

I think the reason that Nash isn't getting as much flak as Allen or Howard was because there was no drama between him and the Suns

every time he was involved in trade rumors, all Nash did was play his game and ignored it, plus add to the fact that he was very good to the organization and didn't request being traded to (insert team name here), so they were able to part on good terms w/ each other

Looks like Crawford is coming to the Clippers. Should have made a run for Courtney Lee instead.

As Not Bill Walton puts it...

"Who cancels a meeting with Ray Allen in order to sign Jamal Crawford? ONLY the Clippers" He might still fit well with CP3 though.

cancelled meetings with ray? wtf? so its basically either stay with boston or go to miami for him now?

edit- ALSO, i've come to terms with steve leaving :(

looks like i'm gonna be rooting hard for the lakers this season. i've always said that i am a fan of kobe, pau, MWP, as well as a few other lakers, but i just dont like that they win so much, lol. so until nash wins a ring, i will be rooting for the lakers. plus yeah, it'll be cool for kobe to finally tie up with jordan.

TBO were you not the one who claimed no later than a week ago that ring chasers who "joined the enemy" were morons for doing so (which in that case you were trying to label Ray as one)?

That's what I am calling you out on. If you had known ahead of time that even someone as "competitive" as Nash could join the Lakers, you wouldn't have had made such a bold statement like that.

Or would you still label Nash as a moron? Yes his family had a big impact on his decision (which it should), but regardless you can't label other players as such if you don't use the same criteria for your own players.

:phone:

Jane WTH I thought you were a clippers fan? And weren't you a bulls fan for a while? At least youre honest about your bandwagoning. lol

Well, I didn't use the term moron to start off. However, I will say I was being overly harsh. Mainly because I would never do such a thing. Rings or not. Nevertheless, that still doesn't eliminate the point that I am still disappointed in Nash for doing what he did. If Ray does the same thing, I'll be disappointed in him too.

No, I still would have. I just wouldn't have been as harsh at best. In all honesty, I read the Nash article after I read the Ray Allen stuff. So anything Nash related was irrelevant at the time.

Or would you still label Nash as a moron? Yes his family had a big impact on his decision (which it should), but regardless you can't label other players as such if you don't use the same criteria for your own players.
Like I said, I never used the word "moron".

i am still a clippers fan. and for like the 5th time, i had the bulls avatar two years ago because it was MY FIRST YEAR EVER PAYING ATTENTION TO THE NBA. i had no team at the time, but i really like drose, hence me having the avatar.

i'm not "bandwagoning". i'm not jumping ship, i'm supporting my number one favorite player. i want him to get the ring he deserves (even if its not in the most honorable way).

this might be the quickest i've ever seen a championship team go into rebuild mode

seriously? dirk doesn't have that much time left and you lost everything else (it feels like it), might as well rebuild at this point
