I think its totally the opposite, if banjo doesnt show up here, them we can be sure that Shinobi was talking about his inclusion on smash, not anything else, but since my english is pretty bad and people tend to rash anyone who doesnt type properly, i'm gonna save you the trouble.

Shinobi in their post about Banjo used the word “smashing” so I assume Shinobi only knows about Banjo in Smash. However, this might mean that Banjo in Smash is the only thing we’re getting, and Banjo might be nonexistent from the Xbox presentation. I’m extremely happy we might be getting Banjo in Smash; however, not to sound greedy, I would have liked a new Banjo game along with him in Smash.

So to recap, Banjo was teased by Shinobi, a ResetEra admin who is highly credible and has been correctly leaking things for years, a week before E3 using the exact same words he used to leak Ultimate before it was announced.

Since then the following insiders have either hinted at Banjo, think he's in, or have heard "rumors":

GameXplain (Jon in particular seems to be very set on Banjo and he also has a good track record)
Imran Khan (Senior editor at Game Informer)
Rand Al-Thor (he seems to have Xbox connections?)

Am I missing anyone?

Heck, even Vergeben is very sure of Banjo, though I don't think he knows the Smash DLC. Sabi seemed to vouch for Verge's source, though.

Erdrick only has Tansut, who only has the Cloud leak to his name. He likely has a friend at Square, and it's entirely possible that the whole Square thing was leakbait.

Verge is confident in Erdrick too, same post as he said he was 99% sure of Banjo

I hope we at least get Banjo back in some form with his Smash inclusion, even if its only Rare Replay on Switch. An N'Sane style remake or Banjo-Threeie is ideal, though.

First off, just created my account here. Hey everyone!

A couple of people have pointed out that the fake Smash Ball could refer to the Xbox since the Fake Smash Ball explodes into a shape of an X. Banjo-Kazooie of course is currently owned by Microsoft and the X somewhat resembles the "X" in the Xbox logo.

Spoiler: Context in case some of you haven't seen it

One thing I noticed when rewatching the end of the 3v3 finals is that Doug Bowser said "I think many of you are going to want to tune in next week to see what or who he may be talking about."

I'm not sure if anyone else pointed it out, but did you notice a small pause and a smile after he said "tune in"? He could be hinting about the bear and bird since their names are based on musical instruments and "tune" is a musical term. Which means that getting Banjo & Kazooie in is very likely especially considering a lot of things are pointing at their direction. We'll find out on Tuesday. What do you guys think?

I wonder if they invited the Smash winners to see a sneak peak of the next character yesterday. That would be a nice added prize.

Granted, they wouldn't be allowed to say anything, so holding it to themselves for 3 days would be tough.


I would laugh if the higher ups each said a potential hint to a character only for the last one to flat out say it.

I'd say no Banjo at Microsoft may be an indication of no Banjo in Smash. Could have all been group think. While I'm expecting something Banjo to be shown at E3, either from Microsoft or Nintendo's conferences, I anticipate nothing happening, which is a possibility. Ideally, Microsoft presents a tease for Banjo's new game, followed by a tease of Banjo in Smash, Bowser comes out on stage to talk about their partnership and to watch their Direct for more info. Though given Sakurai's statements, I doubt that'll be the case.

But I agree, out of everything, I just want Banjo in Smash. But I'm not rooting for nothing at Microsoft, as I want more from the bear and bird, just not expecting it.

I honestly think all of the Banjo stuff is being saved for Nintendo’s presentation. I can see a Banjo Smash announcement followed by remakes/releases of the first two Banjo games on the Switch.

With Nintendo and Microsoft having such a close relationship Microsoft might not want to spoil anything by having Banjo stuff in their presentation before any big reveals about him in Nintendo’s presentation.

The thing I love about all of this is at least Banjo-Kazooie is coming back. I literally NEVER thought they would. This is remarkable.

On top of this the Medievil remake is coming. I'm just too much of a happy camper right now.
