Just for fun, personal view on each;

Banjo - Of course as I'm on this thread, and a supporter, of course I would love and appreciate Banjo to be playable. This would not only be a part dream of mine, but my best friend has always been a huge Banjo fan, and as I always dreamed of K. Rool, he dreamt of Banjo, and we supported each other, it's his turn. Also I got a Banjo figurine, so that's cool.

Doomguy - I've never played DOOM, and I don't think I ever will, and he looks very similar to Master Chief, even if DG came first it's not hard to recognize, considering who got the bigger fame. Now with Microsoft on the table, MC is also somehow possible ... (crazy enough), so, I've warmed up the whole Space Soldier in Green Suit design, and I don't mind either one of them.

Amaterasu - I got some beef with her. The only Quadruplet I need is Ivysaur ... No, but for real, I've never played Okami, so I guess I just never got the hype. Capcom still have a **** tons of characters that are both iconic and popular, Ami is one of them, but after the likes of Dante, Mike Haggar, Sir Arthur, Morrigan Aensland, Leon S. Kennedy, Viewtiful Joe, Phoenix Wright, etc, you see? Therefore, I don't get why Ami over them. Guess it's just personal prefrences.

Crono - If Erderick is a hell to get inn, I guess this is our second chance for an Akira Toriyama designed character? Crono to me appeals a bit because of Super Smash Flash 1 out of all things, as that flash thing made Crono on the map for me. I know that Chrono Trigger got a great legacy, but I've never tried it, and design wise, he is just Isaac with red hair. Of course Crono is more than that, and Isaac is no cheap knock-off, but design wise of appeal, I don't know, I think there is better choices, but I would be glad to see Crono either way.

If there was a second fighter pass, I'd say 50/50. But two Microsoft reps in the same pass seems unlikely.

Banjo isn't really a microsoft rep. He's a Nintendo character that Microsoft happens to own.

And really, nobody expected 2 Fire Emblem characters last time as DLC but look what happened.

If Edelgard is confirmed we can use this leak to shove in the Edrick and Steve's faces. They built a ****posting group based on the 5CH leak, we should do the same to them.

I'm doubting this leak, but shoving it in their faces when they did the same would he fun.

If Banjo is confirmed then all bets are off, fly to 4chan and Gamefaqs to gloat. They've laughed and mocked us for almost a whole year, it's only fair.

as much as I love mario nintendo needs to deversafy during the wii U i was getting sick of only mario, pokemon, zelda getting so many games !

Even if Nintendo wanted to reacquire Rare or the rights to the Banjo-Kazooie franchise, Microsoft isn't just gonna let them outright buy it, They know theirs value in the IP's even if they hasn't been properly utilized, They would rather let them sit in their vault than Nintendo use them, Nintendo would likely rather just slap Mario on it's 3D platformers for strong sales and to a lesser extent the 2D ones since DK, Kirby and Yoshi also occupy that genre, But it is annoying that we haven't had a 3D platformer from different franchise outside of Marios since Donkey Kong 64 (1999) and would love a sequel or a reboot 3D DK platformer since it's as close as BK we would get.

Seems logical. She is the main character, after all.
I just brought up Mifune as a character uniquely suited to the medium, since we were talking about an unspecified SE rep. I never actually thought that Mifune would be it.
Not when he's competing against the likes of Maka, Kid, Krona, Black Star, Stein, Blair, Shinigami-Sama, Excalibur and heck, even solo Soul or gun twins would feel more representative of the series, IMO. It would just be super cool to have him spawn the swords like Brawl's ZSS spawned armour parts and then have everyone able to pick them up but him able to manipulate items in so many other ways with a moveset crafted around their use.

Eh, I guess I'm okay with it. I never got to play any of the banjo games, because I was very poor and didn't have an xbox. But I think that Banjo could potentially bring a more diverse moveset and character design into the game. But please nintendo, don't do what you did with Duck Hunt, the moveset is just weird and feels out of place in smash.

What is an Erdrick? Fire Emblem? I suppose that is a safe expectation. Sakurai can't possibly resist not adding a new FE fighter that isn't an echo.

Oh, I was expecting the "Hero" from DQ8 if the leak was real ^-^ Well, I don't care about DQ, but I don't hate it either (I played 5 and it was great - so there is that). It would suck because the rest of the leak would be true though.

I'm not expecting too much today. I feel like it will be some Joker gameplay plus his render. Another reveal seems unlikely but anything can happen. If not today, maybe E3 is the more likely spot for the Banjo and Kazooie revival. Here's to hoping!

It makes perfect sense to tease the next DLC fighter today. Joker is probably coming out in the next few months, and it is unlikely that they will only announce the next one after Joker is released.

As far as Smash reveals today, my only expectations would be a Joker release date and his render. Hopefully we'll get to see his stage and music track selection as well.

Another thing I would like to see in the Direct is the DLC sets for the Mii Fighters. I'm not sure if the Mii outfits will be returning ones, new sets, or sets that are themed and included with the Fighters pass (Atlus & Sega Mii costumes) but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Hey guys, so since we're only a few hours away from the Direct, I wanted to say a couple things:

1. Don't go in expecting a new character reveal, and by some miracle chance there is one, don't expect it to be Banjo-Kazooie; I'd rather not have a repeat of what happened with the November Direct and the Game Awards.

2. For anyone here who's familiar with Persona 5, what stage do you think they'd do with Joker? I'm personally hoping for one based on the Casino dungeon.

I'm betting against a character reveal for today. Although if there is one, I predict it will be either the Square rep (Chrono/Erdrick) or a 1st party character (Porky/Sylux/Poochie/Edelgard/Paper Mario). If we're assuming there is a Microsoft rep, it makes way more sense for it to be revealed at GDC several weeks from now on Microsoft's end, to further cement their flexible camaraderie with Nintendo. For reasons I've stated, I strongly believe it will be Banjo, in addition to the long talked about "Minecraft content", be that Mii costumes or a stage.
