Melee Singles & Doubles (11:00):

Ruleset:

• 4 stock, 8:00 minutes
• Items OFF
• Sets are best-of-3 except Winners Semis, Winners Finals, Losers Finals, and Grand Finals.
• Ties after the time limit are determined by stocks, then by percentage.
• Master Hand is banned.
• Wobbling is banned. Wobbling is defined as any continuous Ice Climbers grab combo that does not require throwing (this includes blizzobbling).
• Stalling with Jigglypuff's Rising Pound or Peach's Wall Bomber is banned.
• Glitches such as Ice Climbers's Freeze Glitch and Mewtwo's Soul Stunner are banned.
• Dave's Modified Rule: You cannot counterpick the stage you last won on in a set unless agreed upon by the opponent.
• Any action that can prevent the game from continuing (freezing, disappearing characters, game reset, etc.) will result in forfeiture of the match for the player that initiated the action. You are responsible for knowing your own character and must be wary about accidentally triggering one of these effects.

I want to come to this for many reasons...

1) I haven't missed an AUSOM yet!
2) I want to hang out with my AL peops.
3) It's going to mad hyped and amazing, I know it.

But I don't know if I'll be able to come

I just realized a second ago that this is on the day of my Birthday. Which I wouldn't mind spending with you guys but I don't know if I can just ditch my family and friends and run off to AL for the weekend. I'll try to plan accordingly though so I can make it. I'll post up if I'm going when it gets a bit closer

Well I am pretty sure I can go as long as I can save up for rent and the money for this, I should be fine. The only thing is I just got a new job so I do not know how they are about asking off for like 2 or 3 days, although this is only 1 day so I could just ask that day off and travel there and back to Chattanooga that same day. If I come, I have told like 5 friends about this tournament so if they can, they are going to come also. Either way, me and my doubles partner should be able to come as long as we save up the money. It should only take maybe 4 hours or a little longer to get there so it's not a long drive. I will let you know if I can come for sure or not.

JT, have you considered joining the Alabama Smash League? It's a series of 5 tournaments in AL. There will be 2 tournaments held at this location, 1 in Huntsville AL, 1 in Tuscaloosa, and 1 in Mobile. If you pay $25 your entry fees and Brawl singles fees are covered for all 5 tournaments. I understand if Mobile is too long of a drive, but if you plan on going to more AL tournaments, then you'd be saving money. Here's a link with more info~

I can probably only go to maybe three of the tournaments. I would love to though! If I figure out this job is, I will be all over that. Thank you a lot. I will check up on that as soon as I find out. Alabama seems to be one of the only places that really do Brawl Tournaments that are close to where I live. If I could, I would quit my job and only live by played Brawl and going to Tournaments, unfortunately I have only had the chance to play in tournaments that I hosted in my hometown, so I have no idea how others play around the world. That is why I want to play more everywhere else.

Anyway. Thank you so much for telling me about this opportunity and telling me ahead of time. I can hopefully get off for many of these tournaments.

If you can only make it to 3 tournaments, then you would save $50 by signing up for ASL.

Well I was looking through it and noticed that I could send the money through the mail, but it said after this certain date, there will not be anyone there and I do not own a credit card or anything so I really do not know how I would be able to send it to become signed up for the Alabama Smash League.

You are mistaken. It said do not send the money to that address until after August 13th. The address is correct if you want to mail it in.

Oh sorry! I misread it. Me and a friend of mine may do this. I am pretty excited. We haven't been to another tournament outside of our area before. I will most likely be sending this soon, as long as work takes this well.
