mario and fox are middleweights, makes sense since the day i knew that floaty/non floaty =/= weight
I was more stunned by knowing that samus is like 2nd or 3rd heaviest

2nd I think

Off the top of my head:
DK
Samus
Yoshi
Link/Falcon
Luigi/Mario/Fox
Ness
Pikachu
Kirby
Puff

I might have switched Pika and Ness

Ive always judged their weight by seeing at what % they die by the tornado..but according to that list...i am very wrong. Samus>link?! Pika>kirby?!

I believe falling speed is also a factor for what % they die from the tornado.

Wait. Heaviness is determined by how far characters get knocked horizontally, whereas floatiness is determined by how far characters get knocked vertically (falling speed), or so I always thought. So Samus is a heavy and floaty character.

disproving determinism
ive always judged whos heavy and not based on how high they got utilted by yoshi utilt. man was i off.
I feel like this should work. For example mario and fox should get hit the same upward height by a yoshi utilt but fox will fall much faster.

I could be wrong though ... can't test right now because I'm sick again.

The First list is just in order from heavy -->light

The second list is in order from fastest falling --> Slowest falling (while the number in brackets is the rate at which they accelerate through the air)

~~Weight~~
DK
Samus
Yoshi
Falcon/Link
Mario/Fox/Luigi
Ness
Pikachu
Kirby
jigglypuff

~~Fall Speed & Acceleration~~

Link (3.2)
Fox/Falcon (4.0) / (3.4)
DK (3)
Ness/yoshi (2.7) / (2.7)
Pikachu (3.0)
Kirby (2.4)
Mario (2.4)
Luigi/Samus (2.1) / (1.9)
JigglyPuff (2.0)

You forgot to put Samus along Luigi.

Yes btw regarding horizintal knockout you could always realize the ones who die first and die last. Mario and Luigi for example, float a lot but die faster than others horizontally. Or DK, who is very heavy and doesnt die easily, no matter the floatyness of anyone

Samus goes higher than Fox and is significantly heavier.

So i was playing against my buddy as a Ness ditto battle the other day, and we played this game with items, we both landed on oposite sides of a green shell, he f-smashed first, then i did sec later, and became a super charged shell, it killed him by shooting him out of the **** tent to death. I grab the shell and waited for him to come back down, when he did i nailed him with the same shell we both hit before, and it killed him with a star finish at 65%. It was awesome, so i was thinking of the best ways to charge up a shell with two people who have team attack on, on the same team trying to make a super shell to use againt the opposing team.

Most of the things i think of are smashes, mixed with fox reflector, and then shell the shell to stop it, then use it againt the other team. Any ideals who to make a super charged shell in the on castle w/ 2 team mates?

Thanks for the help. I tried calibrating the controller using Control Panel and that seemed to fix it ^^

Try doing first hit uair-> shine-> jab on fast fallers. The first hit uair seems to prop them up to a perfect height. Easier than learning against grounded floaties imo.

Grounded up b his aerials. Down b cancel to up smash for kills. Throw combos and just go for gimps. I find n-air also useful vs fast fallers as DK. D-air can also be used for kill combos (up smash, giant punch) but it can be punished.

I also like DK's f-air in this matchup. F-air to giant punch works at 60 if I remember right. You can also do a f-air to f-air for spikes.

Up b his recovery or grab the ledge, force Falcon to recover above and then either grab back throw or d-air to something.

Basically..camp, bait approaches, hammer him with grabs and up b and maybe other moves if you can predict a laggy up smash or something.

2nd edit: Also, be careful with recoveries, don't recover from high due to up air to d-air. don't recover too low or Falcon can d-air it.

Gimp with the Up-B AMAP. You probably already know that, but Ecartman (who ***** in that matchup AFAICT) does it constantly, so he's my inspiration.

I think he means just the 1 handed slap. I'm not sure on the technicalities but it might be called a cancel since you're ending the move when it could go longer. Then again downB is just a repeating animation and you can only end it after one animation has finished.

Someone more knowegeable will probably clear it up lol.

I knew that's probably what he meant, I just thought it was weird he stuck a cancel there where it didn't belong.

For many years i thought it was a cancel lol. As i was told it was by the person who told me how to do it.

I was actually told to cancel this attack. lol!

No idea who that was anymore though xD

I call it canceling since you are well canceling the rest of the move. It is like how you call L-cancel canceling since you are "canceling" the lag at the end of the move or similar to platform cancels.

What else would I say otherwise, maybe, "Hey Guys, Use a DK Ground Pound, just once, that is all you need, do the slap..chop.

Also, is it just me or does it seem that DK has less ending lag if you just use one ground pound than when you "cancel" after a few pounds?

was gonna post this elsewhere, but i digress.

what are most 'bread and butter' combos?

Really, i think combos like these are good for starters.
(lol falcon fthrow uair x8 upb)

i know most of them myself (besides yoshi and ness) but i think this would be good for people who are not so great at comboing. much ilke myself with anyone that isn't fox or mario. :(
