Doug's PB&J's (on other dougs/links I guess/sometimes others):
(Fthrow=A, Fair=B, Dair=C, Uair=D, Usmash=E, UpB=F. Brackets=situational/optional)
1. ABA[D]C
2. ADE[E]D[D][D]F
3. EEE[E]DD[D]F
4. B-air->ADD[D]F
5. (at mid 60's-early 80's) A-> Falcon Pawnch.
6. ABE[E]DD[D]F

OK I'm getting bored. Basically, fthrow-fair and fthrow-uair and fthrow upsmash can start ****, and once you have **** started you can usually combo into a spike or a uair chain to up B

Everyone already knows this, and if they didn't they'd figure it out pretty damn quick after picking up Doug.

So yeah.

I did like 8 Usmashed in a row vs "InkJuse" this morning.

We where in the corner / wall area of the **** tent, and when i Usmashed him he Wall Di'd but couldn't seem to get over the ledge...so i just kept doing it for lulz and it took a little while for him to actually get onto the ledge and roll away xD

Is there a particular reason as to why jumping with the stick brings you that little bit higher than a c-button jump?

Can it be explained by the game's physics, or was it actually a fully thought-out and implemented feature? Seems kinda random, if you ask me. I can understand standing jumps going higher than running jumps (shouldn't it be the other way around?), but what difference does the stick make vs. the c-button?

Was its purpose to reward stick-jumpers since usually stick-jumping is harder? Or was it intended to give the player more options with that extra millimeter of height?

It just seems kinda bizarre.

It was intended for more options.

There are 7 different types of heights you can get with the two button-running SH c button
-running sh c button
-running SH analog button
-regular SH c button
-regular SH analog button
-running FH c button
-regular FH c button
-FH analog button

You get the same height with a running FH with analog as you do with normal height of analog FH.

Stuff like a running analog SH with mario will not bring you up to a platform perfectly, but a running sh with the cbutton does. After a certain level, learning these little intricacies with really step up your game.

thanks. i knew the gamecube controller can connect to your computer because i have an adapter that i got at a swap meet lol but i figured since the n64 is older, there weren't any available.

i play melee regularly so i can't use the gamecube controller because it's not good for smash 64 and it'll mess up my melee memory muscle haha.

My melee playing friend loves 64 online with a gamecube controller. I don't, y/x are too far from a and b. Plus i prefer the position of the z button to shoulders.

Long story short: I main pikachu and my friend mains ness. He just spams D-smash, grab and U-air / d-air combos. And he ALWAYS downspikes me. I know pickachu is supposed to be able to beat ness, but i cant seems to find a way to counter his U-Air / d-air combos. And when he gets me off the edge, i either get spiked to death or i land on the edge and he throws me off before i can recover.

Basically, I guess i want to know how approach, recover, and avoid U-air / d-air moves.

Thanks for any advice you can give. I really want to beat my friend, hes so cocky when it comes to smash, but he is nothing compared to people i've played online.

Well, do you gimp him? Ness is super easy to gimp. You should be throwing him off the edge and edgeguarding him repeatedly.

For recovery, just be less predictable. Are you running into his spike? With all the recovery options that pika has, you should be able to get around it (then turn around and gimp him). Also, learn to sweetspot the edge with pika's recovery, as that is often a very good option.

For approach use bair or sometimes uair. He should not be grabbing you, you should be grabbing him. If he uses dsmash, then learn to bait him into using that, and then once he is stuck in that super laggy attack you can approach him with bair/dair/grab/etc.

Make sure also that you are teching properly to get away from repeated dairs. Also use pika's upB to escape combos (just keep spamming upB while he combos you and if his combo isn't perfect you will be able to upB out of it).

Videos would be helpful of course.

1. Use ownasouras' kaillera client,

2. Use the in game record feature

3. Replay the matchup in the "playback option" of owna's client

4. Use fraps to record them.

If not on kaillera use fraps anyway

If on a mac use ishowu

Baiting is the easiest way to beat spamming noobs. Just dash in, and then dash out, wait until they use their laggy ground attack, and then punish from whatever direction you please.

Oic.

Those gamecube controllers and their problematic sticks.

Not as bad as the n64 ones though. I pulled out 4 of my old ones from the basement to check the sticks. Completely loose and useless. Mario Party + Childhood = Chafed Palms

So I was checking out fraps, and it looks like a pretty solid program. I have one problem though, it records very slowly. I have it set on full capture, 60fps, but it should be able to handle it; my comp isn't the strongest comp but it is still pretty solid: 2.5 ghz core2duo, 256 nvidia graphics card, 4gb ram, and 320gb harddrive (there is about 130gb free on the drive). The comp is only 2 years old so I don't think it is that. Oh and just to make sure it is n't the harddrive issues, I record onto a external harddrive (250gb). So I am really confused... What is going on?????????????????????
