oh you're ridiculous :\ Mallow is not female, and neither is Dedede, or Sonic or kirby so shut up and FYI I support who I like, no matter how many times people prove to you that Paper Mario is unworthy you keep at it, why because you like him. Now admit it, Paper Mario is unworthy for Brawl because he's just another version of Mario. :| you're really annoying you know.

There is no such thing as a Nintendo character with a 0% chance, now Ashley might not have as high of a chance like Ridley or Geno, but she still has one. Usually, what makes characters get in is their popularity, but as Sakurai said, he doesn't want a game full of popular characters, if anything, he wants uniqueness, and Ashley can be very unique, Sakurai has an imagination, he can come up with something ingenious for her.

I honestly don't know what is going on in Sakurai's head. Perhaps being female is a big thing to him, perhaps it's something very little, that's why slight was in parenthesis. But regardless, in a large male character roster, if two characters are of equal importance, and one is female and one is male, I believe the female would probably get in to try to mingle the genders.

I didn't know Mallow was female, and I support who I want to if you don't like it deal with it. I bet that your perspective of newcommers has to be they have to be in the polls and journal entries, it really funny how one newcomer was not in either.

Black Knight is not even as important as Sothe. Micaiah is the main character of an entire game. I'll admit he was in the polls, not that it means anything since Mia, Sheeda, and Ilyana were too despite being other popular non-lords. Oh and I don't think not being in the polls or journal entries stopped Sonic at all.

but almost all the story focuses on the lords, and the lords are the main characters of the game. Greil and Black Knight added to the plot, and just how Mist is the only one who can hold the Fire Emblem becuase she's gentle enough but Black Knight doesn't top the lords in importance.
