I am very surprised to see Chrom NOT make it as a playable character... I always thought he was a shoo-in. Now I learn to not even try and predict Sakurai. I never was an avid supporter of him and I think both Lucina and Robin look awesome, but I'm sorry for all you guys who supported him with more passion!

Ever since the day I saw him, I wanted Chrom vs Ike vs Marth in Arena Ferox. Ike vs Marth vs Robin really, really doesn't have any special moment to it.
Sigh...my daughter got in, but damnit. I know what its like for people who expected Mewtwo and got Greninja now...this was literally a slap in the face.
It was a good run friends. Its a shame it has to end like this

Chrom was probably considered as a character back when the Gematsu leaker got his information. It's the same reason he didn't know about Greninja.
Unfortunately Chrom being in MU's Final Smash means that he was probably cut due to either time restraints or just plain being replaced by MU

Seems like Sakurai thought that Chrom wouldn't bring much to the table after all. I've been saying from day 1 that Robin was a much better option in terms of an Awakening rep.. Although, okay, Lucina is completely out of left field for me since she would bring even less than Chrom. I didn't see her having much hope at all purely because she would probably be too Marth-like.. But I guess in the end, that's why she got in, since she seems to be a clone of Marth.
Also, shame on the people that blindly accepted the Gematsu leak as 100% fact.
Take solace in the fact that Chrom at least makes an appearance in the game not just as an assist trophy.

Well, wasn't I wrong... at least an FE-rep who uses actual stuff from the games and has Chrom in the Final Smash. They seem to make it look even more awesome than it is though.
However, I'm quite sad to think that everyone, right down to developers, have to admit that Chrom can't just bring anything to the table, to a point where even his daughter is a clone of Marth. Ouch.

This reveal means that leak was false. Joyous days to anybody who weren't Chrom, Shulk or Chorus Men hopefuls. People can reason why Lucina made it in over Chrom but just letting you know now, its holding no weight anymore.
Too soon to tell if Lucia is a Marth clone though.

Why is everyone jumping ship on the Gematsu leak? It predicted EVERY other newcomer aside from Rosalina. The information was leaked before the roster was finalized, so changes to the roster happened between then and now.

lol seriously though, I've never gotten passionate about potential characters being in fighting games before, and this is one of the reasons. You've got two awesome Fire Emblem characters, but you feel bad. I'm not down to put myself in that kind of position so easily.

I love the trailer, is the best so far. I like the Ava...eh Robin as a character in Smash again. But the way they show Chrom is a little bit despective I think.
Still gonna main Robin because my love for Awakening is too big.

GG Chrom fans. My condolences. This was a real shocker.
I am the biggest jerk to Chrom and his supporters, so I probably shouldn't say nothing but... The way Chrom was treated in the trailer was kinda mean. I am happy Robin and Lucina were confirmed, but I am also feeling kinda bad for Chrom's supporters. Sorry guys!

In the third leak right before E3 he stated that Chrom, Shulk and CM were still included. Its great that he's predicted every newcomer besides Rosalina, Lucina and Robin but its time to face this as it was meant to be treated: as a rumor. We can all think of reasons for or against what happened, just like every other leak or rumor that's come up.
I'm just as they included a nice F U to the whole Getmatsu leak in that trailer though.

Regardless of the reason that this was wrong, it's over. Gematsu is dead because one of the core predictions of its roster turned out to be an NPC(FS effect, no less!). Gematsu is worthless now for speculation and should be discarded.

I feel very bad for you guys, at least you gave Chrom a lot support. I just hate it when people badmouth him gloat is supporters for no good reason. I hope you guys aren't too dissappointed.

My condolences. Personally I didn't want Chrom in, but it's certainly not fun when the creator of the game mocks an entire fanbase. Okay, I admit I thought it was funny, but I'm crazy biased on this front, after the Ridley incident in the Smash Direct and Ridley seemingly being deconfirmed after so much teasing, not to mention I was also present for Brawl speculation, I know the feeling of being slapped by Sakurai, and it's not funny no matter how it's done. So yeah, it could have been handled much better by the end of the day.
