They interfere with sports and peripheral vision. I don't see that as a worse tradeoff than applying something directly to your eyeball or paying for laser surgery.

Yeah, I am also astigmatic, and I wear glasses when doing homework/reading, watching t.v. etc... I HATE wearing them when going out and I usually wear contacts then and while playing sports. Btw, what is your prescription? I know no one with eyes as bad as me: both eyes -6.25

I wear glasses for almost every second that I am awake because I'm basically blind as a bat without them and I can barely do anything without having them on.

Glasses all the time. I don't mind though. I like my glasses, so wearing them isn't a bother to me. The idea of contacts weirds me out a little, but since I like glasses, it's not even a question for me to consider changing. Don't know how bad my eyes are in terms of numbers anymore, and it's been a while since I've seen an eye doctor. My old one retired, and we haven't found a new one. Maybe next summer.

my eyes are not bad but without glasses i need to scwint my eyes or tilt my head to see

I wear glasses and contacts. Wore glasses up until about...sophomore year of high school. Then switched to contacts. I still wear my glasses most of the time. Contacts are a freakin' pain to put in sometimes. x__x And can be time consuming.

It's funny. I get a lot of people who say I look better with contacts and I thought that too for a long time, but I think the style of my glasses suits me well. I'm just weird.

Glasses all the time, never realize it sometimes, heck almost take a shower with them sometimes. Without them, can't read jack **** if it was like, ten, maybe 5 feet away. Want Contacts though.

I've worn glasses since I was three. I still have my first pair. I can't wear contacts because they don't make them my perscription . But I love my glasses. They change constantly (almost every year) and keep up with my personality..

unfortunately. -some- people claim (that's there's a wooooman to blame.. nah) that I look better in them, but after being called 4-eyes and the like for my whole childhood basically, I definitely developed a self-conscious streak about them, and would prefer contacts, though last time I wore those, I was driving and they rolled up like a window shade when I blinked and I almost crashed my car doing 80 on I-70. Never have worn them since. One day I may get surgery, but my uncorrected vision is really bad, like 20/150 in the right and 20/200 in the left... dunno if surgery would even help.

I alternate between glasses and contacts, it depends on how I feel that day. Right now I'm wearing glasses. I'm legally blind without them, and I'm slightly astigmatic.
