It would be amazing if you could get to play as an Animal Crossing person. Clothes change could also be gender.

The symbol is there, there is most likely a character to represent it.

There has never been an icon only represented by items or stages.
I would usually agree with that, but Animal Crossing is a very widely recognised Nintendo series with no easy option as far as characters are concerned. Also the AC symbol is quite well known too. I think that's the reason items from other series' in Melee didn't have symbols (i.e. Lip's Stick) because they weren't recognised. Still, maybe there will be a character, though that suggests there will be a DS character, which I DO NOT WANT. :dizzy:

I personally think that Tom Nook would be the best candidate. Either him or KKSlider.

Still, an AC Boy/Girl/Ragdoll/Scarecrow/Human/Child/Thing/Potatoe would be an acceptable representative.

If the AC human is in, the female would be one of it's alts, no question.

But as a couple of you said; an AC human does just look too generic and it'd probably bug the hell out of a lot of smashers. Either way, it'd be a nice addition. 24th's almost here. :D

Well could be like Wario and when you do a costume change it would completely change and become a girl too.

I say the chances of it being true are...60% But how the **** would you use a fishing rod as a weapon O_o? Tether recovery? I doubt it...
Every played jump ultimate stars? Gon from hunterxhunter uses a fishing rod in the game and it pulls the enemies towards you so that you can continue beating on them

I don't know why everyone thinks that it would be cool to have an Animal Crossing character playable at all. Especially the humans from the game, they just seem so generic. If anyone was to get in from the Animal Crossing games I would hope that it would be a more original character like Tom Nook or something, but he is a trophy in that new commercial so he can't be playable.

Anyways, it just seems like way to bland of a character. I hope that it's not true. If it is, at least I'll have one more character in the game to despise and attack only because I would rather kill them than anybody else.

I love it too, I was addicted for like 3 months, especially to droids.
I'm just saying that no one from Animal Crossing should be fighting. It's just not a violent game. Plus, there really isn't enough information that could be used to develop more than maybe 4-5 attacks.

Oh, I'll bet there's enough for a decent AC moveset. Fishing rod, axe, slingshot, butterfly net, shovel, gyroids, dinosaur bones... maybe work a watering can in there somehow? Point is, if Sakurai can make a fighter out of the crazy, mostly non-violent Game&Watch games, I don't see how he wouldn't be able to make one for the just as random AC series.

I love how he said this yet, he probably worked his butt off on that Mr. Game and Watch moveset...

In all honesty, I think Animal Crossing is the only game that I wanted PC representation from (Ridley would've been nice though too).

This roster thing is a drag on a lot of fronts.

The lack of AC reps is my biggest gripe with the roster. Sakurai says he was too hard to implement, yet there's many Animal Crosser movesets, colours, etc flying about?

Then where the hell did that whole thing come up from where the guy said he's in the game?! WTF?! Who keeps lying out there?

At this point, it matters not. All liars are now labeled as such, and we need to move on. The roster is well known, and we have our approvals, our disappointments, and our gripes, but there's nothing further we can do about it now.

(On a side note: I'd rather have an AC rep than ROB.)

but who would we have??? Totakeke and Tom Nook seemed to be the most popular ones and they were practically out of the picture when they were confirmed as part of the Smashville stage...no im not saying they would be awful, im just saying who could we use?

Tom Nook would have been awesome. Doesn't matter that he's in the background of the stage. If they had not put him there in the first place he would have been ideal.

Funny though, how Sakurai had said from the start that he didn't feel AC characters were worthy of being fighters. If he told us that we could have saved a TON of pointless speculation.
