Did you try fastfalling while doing a bair?

Cause it could've been the fastfalling from the dair that made you live so long.

but lol @ luigi's mansion, awesome.

yeah, I fastfell the dair. as long as you don't hold down on the control stick the c-stick should automatcally fast fall for you. some people need to know that holding down on the control stick when being hit straight up DOES NOTHING!

always hold left or right and mash down on the c-stick

What about holding left or right to di then mashing back on the c stick and down on the joystick to fastfall?

the results won't be the same, unless you think you can bair and then react to the beginning frame of bair and fast fall using a different buttons within 1-3 frames of each other every single time. the odds are that you'll die earlier because you're not guaranteed the fast fall starting the same frame of the attack

2 Questions:
1. I thought you should bair+ff and then upB momentum cancel to live to the highest % but you didnt. Do we only need to upB???
2. So at LM the best strategy is to DI up if we sent horizontaly??? to hit the stage, then the floor and then upB right?

1. bair+ff is the best way too live in general yes, but I was showing what to do if hit straight up by an attack.

oh now I get what you're saying, I guess I wasn't thinking when I made this. bair + ff+up-b brake is probably the best, but like I said you have to react pretty darn fast to when bair starts.

if you ask me, I don't thinks its worth it, you may miss it and die earlier.

2. yeah, mash up-b

I guess the charging punch thing didn't work :(

Oh well I guess it prompted you to make this thread.

The Luigi's thing is really cool, pretty pointless but really cool.

Pretty pointless? O_o
It seems pretty useful as it should be one of your main stage CPs.
Yeah the bad thing is it is banned on some tourneys =/

Hmm... I always mash the controlstick down to fast fall during the aerial, so I don't think I'd miss it.

I never use bair to react faster after hitstun. I use uair... because somtimes I face the wrong direction and use fair instead of bair and that sucks...

If they don't hit you off two walls to kill you...

I have played luigis a few times and not in one of them did i hit two walls before dying.

Plus it is usually banned.

But, it is still my first CP if its allowed.

on the mansion bit, teching does pretty much the same thing for all characters, except they don't wind up helpless
But the teching in this game is so bad your almost just as helpless.

I still dont know why they made teching so bad in Brawl.

but this gave me an idea

on japes, DI down, hit the platform and upb so that you can cancel it on the ledge
you have to hit 2 surfaces, not just 1. and you can't di it to the ledge, remember...

I did this on Japes once. It wasn't too long ago either. It made me lost my singles match as well. :(

I got spiked on the right side of Japes, on the platform. Bounced up slightly and i guess i hit up b, and i couldn't move. I was just rising with the up b, which lead me to get hit and die.

I didnt remember this until Bigfoot mentioned it.

I've always felt like air dodging with DI slowed me down a bit after getting smashed but I've never tested it out. Any truth to this or should I just start trying these other tactics?

welcome to the SWF DK Forum minford^^
Yeah it´s known that air dodging slows you down,
but a fast falled aerial that ends fast is the better idea.

cyphus's favs list:

Yoshis (close death walls, but UpB invincibility spam, plus due to the slight curved ground people tend to overlook DK's DownB more)
Pictochat (close death walls + Invinci-UpB Spam)
Battlefield for projectile spammers
FD for swordsmen

i dont play on japes, brinstar, or mansion...but i would pick Mansion if it was 'accepted'

There's basically no stage I hate with DK. Among my favorites are Yoshi's, BF, Delfino, PS1, Pictochat... Basically all the non-banned stages.
