A national tourney idea

How about make it that you can't use the character you WON with more than once. This all made me think of Custom Robo, and then I thought that. That way people would still have to guess a little more. So that would mean if you BEAT their marth, then they could COME back with marth...

Many Falcos mains also have a Fox backup (Shiz, Zhu, etc), but most Fox mains don't use Falco (Jman, Lucky, Colbol, etc).

I smell a plot for M2K to get the Jiggs and Peach mains not to play their character so that he can prevail.

How would you know the "randoms" main character? I mean I'm pretty sure anyone could walk into such a tourney and be like... Yeah I second Marth. Or I second Peach. There will be so much dishonesty going around.

Just replace "You can't play your main" with another character ban, so each player gets 2 character bans. "You can't play your main" can't possibly be enforced.

that's why i suggested character ban in the first place. i mean if you can beat someone's "main", but they have a secondary that gives you trouble, then you'd be able to ban that. or if you're just really bad against a certain character, then ban them everywhere you go. i think it would bring out the depth of people's true skill at the game.

btw if this tournament ever happens, i main fox, just so you all know.

True, although people might lie about their mains anyways. : D Although you are right, I have only spent time on my Doc, tournament wise. I practice a bit with others just in case.

I like number 2 with the exception that the loser has the option of staying the same char if they want.

both players having to switch kinda defeats the purpose.

But yeah, I like banning a character, because that way it forces the opponent, and us, to use a new character in a tournament. I stick to doc like glue for tournies, no joke. I can't get off him. Why? I suck with everyone else. LOL Bout time I try a secondary.

Also, having to change a character, would probably mean we'd still fight the char we don't want to, but only once... Unless, people can still play with a char they lost with. that way there is still char mind games.
