MK you also know from highschool that the pythagorean theorem holds, that isn't a proof.

so you guys are really denying that 1/3 = .333...?

You guys know how to do division manually right?

Better yet, do you understand what the concept of division is?

How does 1/3 NOT equal 0.3333...?

By long division, 1/3 can be represented as .3333...

By long division, 2/3 can be represented as .6666...

By long division, 3/3 can be represented as 1.

oops. LOGIC FAIL

The limit of the infinite series representing .999.. converges to 1, but that juvenile "proof" has nothing to do with it.

1/3 IS 0.333..., just like 1 IS 0.999..., but we're discussing the proof of that here, not the fact.

and eighteenspikes, 0.9... does not converge to anything since it is a NUMBER, not a series.

holy **** this thread is still going.

Alright, given the plane G by this equation -3x -6y + 7z = 83. I want you to find me the equation of a line intesecting this plane with the plane N that is modeled by the equation 3x - 2z = 5

hmm its been a while but ill give it a shot:

maybe find normal vectors of each plane first cuz the line should be orhgognal to both normal vectors and ill take the cross product of the normal vecotrs:

-3i -6j + 7k = normal to G
3i -2k = normal for N

cross product normal to both: 12i - 15j - 18k (if my math was rithg, it usually isnt)

so that should be the right line slopewise but i need to find an actual spot to stick it: aka where the planes intersect:

look at where x = 0 for example then solve the sysem:

-6y +7z = 83
0y - 2z = 5

z= -5/2 = a

y= (83 + (35/2))*(-1/6) = b i dont have calculatort

but yeah x = 0 and those coordinates should work

then f(t) = { 12t, b - 15t, a - 18t} should be equation of the line where 0 and a and b are coordinates i dound

i took this class last semseter
