Ok so now 4 cars from Dallas are coming. That's about 16 people total. And that's amazing. So for all our efforts, can we get some respectable rules? You know, so wins and losses in the tournament will actually mean something to people?

The sad part is for all those Dallas people going, our 3 best players won't be there so our crew won't be representative at all. Unless you'd like to help us out, DREW!!!

So I just checked the rules on the first page and theres nothing against geting a percentage lead and just wall bomb at the bottom of the stage, or camp up B invincibility on the ledge till time runs out and win the match! I'm taking this tourney guys!
Here's the plan, match starts, throw a needle, grab ledge, win =)

I love tourneys that don't use MLG rules =]

You cant really tell when someone has the intention to infinite ledge stall with Marth, Sheik etc...they use it as a defensive strategy.

If a Peach goes below the stage and starts to wall bomb its obvious what the player is trying to do, waste time.

Update on rules:

STAGE STRIKES: Both players can strike any one stage a piece, but your opponent can use his stage strike to unstrike it.

Stall tactics such as Rising Pound and Peach Wall bomber are banned, unless they are for recovery purposes.

This is gonna be great.
Ex: Sethlon vs a peach,
Seth: I'm banning Dreamland
peach player: Lol, no.
Dreamland randoms first stage, Peach barely wins
Seth counter picks and ***** ugly
Dreamland counterpick and peach barely wins again
=)

Did I mention I'm modding my Control stick and getting the l-cancel mod and short hop mod, my fox/falco is gonna be crazy guys!

so if our opponent strikes our striked stage, can we strike a different stage? and can you pick the same stage you won on if it was the random stage?

The stage strike cancellation is righteous. Why has it come so late?

pootTheBox will be attending with Gigi and possibly Rage. Might be riding with Runningbrave, Leapinghare, and Geo. 6 is a little full though if we are bringing setups.

What is the housing situation?

edit: lolrzpop. Right when I was praising the ruleset it gets dissed twice. Why no like?

So everyone can stop complaining......

DAVE'S STUPID RULE IS ON.

NO STAGES STRIKES. I TRIED TO BALANCE THEM BUT OH WELL. TOO BAD.

AND WOBBLING IS BANNED.

And anything that I didn't cover? Consider MLG.

Now enough bout the **** rules. Let's get back on track.

I've heard various things on the topic of modded controllers, so I'm not sure what exactly is the case, but they do exist at least. Jordan's right though I'd still lose =P meanie
I was just trying to get you to say MLG rules =)

Ok serious question this time just in case you are keeping the rule like this. For the stage striking if they ask me what I'm banning and I say battlefield for instance and then they ban jungle japes can I then say no I want to unban Japes with my ban after I've already said what I'm banning?

dang... ya got me there. I guess it could go down to a double blind pick......

Here's what I thought would happen....

Bluezaft: I ban FD
SOS: Well I unban FD
Bluezaft: oh well, no stage strikes.

Because SOS complained that there is no one in Texas that wouldn't strike FD against him. Just look at the first reply to this thread.

Because people will just squabble for whoever gets to strike second...

How about DSR but no strikes?

Kyle, actually, that's a good idea. I like the idea of stage strike canceling, but there's more in depth strategy with DSR only than having Stage Striking only.

I LOL'ed really hard at the comment you made Kyle saying how everyone in TX would ban FD against SOS.

XD

Stage cancelling: ********. It would all depend on who gets to ban 2nd, as DoH said.

Just do what MLG does and have bans only for nonrandom stages.

Boooo! Well if no strikes why no random resets? Starting on Yoshi Story with Bluezaft or Dreamland 64 with DoH is quite disheartening.

Housing anyone? 2 maybe 3 people.
oh wow, like no one ever gets the first round NOT in their favor. Boo hoo. Quit crying. If you don't want to play it, ask your opponent if he cares.

As for housing, talk to Bluezaft. I thought he had it all figured out for the Dallas players.

Lock-in was voted against, since it would have to have a much higher entry fee.
If there's no lock-in, more people need to offer housing. There are 17-19 from Dallas coming now, and only 12 have a place to stay.

And thanks SOS for offering housing, I sent Rawr a private message to send you all his stuff.

Stage strikes for nonrandom stages and/or random resets! Drew says he might go if the rules aren't stupid! We're so close now!

Bluk
teh pope that pwnz

that leaves 4 people let me know by sending me a pm with your name and cell # etc thank you. becuz if not your **** out of luck. :p

and yes lets just do this mlg style stage strikes for non random level's only and random reset's 1 per player for the 1st stage on random (unless both players agree on a level) i now have a 0% chance of winning but if itll make everyone happy then so be it :)
