Looks like wanting to main him is a good idea.
Every Smasher is maining him, lol. Also, all he has to is land a c.LP and he can FADC combo into Ultra1 from anywhere on the screen.

Don't know much about Dudley. I was reading SRK, and Emblem Lord was saying that he think Dudley will have at least 10 bad matchups. Grapplers and anyone that can out-footsie him (Cody being one perhaps).

I dont see how he has that many bad MU's. even someone like Dan could hold his own to some point in SF4.

my stick makes this little squeaky sound every time I move to the left and sometimes up. The movements work fine but its kind of annoying having to hear it all the time. Looks like ima have to open this thing up(once I figure out exactly what to do). Some say I just need to rotate the plate while some say grease is needed. ughghgh.

Opening up the stick voids the warranty.

I think it would take me at least 700+ hours of training to get decent at SSF4. Gotta learn game mechanics and matchups too.

700+ hours?

Jesus Christ. Put that time into Diddy Kong or Melee Fox and you'll be winning everything.

I think you're exaggerating just a bit there Ether. I'll agree if someone has no traditional FG experience it'll take them at least 700 hours but I don't think it'll take that long if they have some traditional FG experience.

I don't think someone who has played ST for instance, for 10 years would take 700 hours to get decent at SSF4.

Not that crazy, really. Melee took lots of practice, and I actually did used to put a lot of time into Melee Fox. 0-700 hours from scratch wouldn't be enough for a new player to win a lot in Melee. That averages out to less than two hours of practice a day in over the course of a year. Not enough.

Can't sleep. Some people on the Cody boards think that Cody will end up a mid-tier. Time to jump ship!

@Spam the giant ********:

Reaper micro vs 'toss only takes about 80 APM, and vs terrans only 60 APM. And that's if the other player performs perfectly with gatherer harass and still pumps out marines / zealots.

SC2 isn't really based on having ridiculous APM like SC1 is. It's far more a scout and counter game and less a micro everything game.

How the hell could Cody be mid tier with that ridiculous list of pros you came up with?

Either way, I still think he's really cool. If Guy ends up being better than him, then I'll main Guy instead, but Cody is definitely my first pick.

When do people actually say their characters are good? Meta and Sagat mains.

Everyone else just complains about what their character doesn't have and what they wish they have. Look at Brawl, everyone who wants Meta gone usually sucks or never played another game before.

Cody has a bad wakeup, but that's about it from what I've seen(haven't really played that much of him). Alot of his moves are + on block and his specials are generally safe, oh yeah his damage is ******** too.

Wakeups are really important in this game though. I dont think I really need to go over that. I really hate getting knocked down by someone because my options after that are terrible. His specials arent really that safe either, but its not a big deal.

Yeah, a lot of people are complaining about what their characters lack. It's dumb. Blocking, grab teching and Bingo are good enough wakeup options imo. Most characters reversals aren't that good anyway.

if u really want a good story, amazing cutscenes, broken but interesting gameplay play 8 if u want an overall better game play 6, also depends on ur tolerance to aged graphics/gameplay

Grats.

Chun-li is probably good. She was 7thish in SF4. With nerfs to the top and buffs of her own, she should be good to go in SSF4.

Alot of people are saying Bison, Guile, Boxer, Abel, and Chun all got alot better, oh and Sim aswell. Everyone got buffed, but Boxer, with all the nerfs to the top tier nothing changed about him so he's still beast.

Yeah, I agree. All those characters look really good so far. People are saying Akuma might be top too.

Marn lost to a Chun-Li last week. Footsie characters are a lot better now.

I think Akuma got better. His HK loop is harder to do now, but he has a way to combo into ultra now. Ibuki is ****ing nuts, 300-400 dmg combos, with 600-700 stun WTF. Land a combo(best one: lp mp hp, lk spin kicks, lp mp neck breaker) then kunai cross up hit them twice stun, after do a combo and you win lol.

This game is gonna have like 1-2 top tier, 3-4 high tier then like 22-25 mid tier, then what ever else is left low. This game is crazy balanced and is all matched up based now, instead of Sagat being GOD, and Ryu, Akuma, and Rufus being behind him.
