who did you see play???
It was just two bands.

The Have Nots, (a punk, hardcore, indie and alternative band) and a new upcoming local Ska band called Blaming Sydney.

I learned to Skank. :D
And I got blisters all over my toes. D:

I don't get it. xD Would it have anything to do with the beginning of the match?
I would think so. All he did was a pivotgrab, now that I think about it some more. I'll try to experiment with this some.

Agreed^. It's a forward smash that sends people almost straight up, lasts forever, and is super strong.

That's just asking to be used to punish landings, and to catch people off guard as far as DI goes. If you use it to space, you're doing it wrong.

That's someone ridiculous if you ask me.

As grammatically incorrect as that was, it's how I speak. I'm sure no one speaks like this.

Doesn't it just give you a rush Fino?
Finding his mistakes is one of my favorite aspects of the Olimar boards!

Alright, once again lol. Infractions/Warnings have been given to those trolling, spamming, replying to spam/trolls, etc. It's not as strict in the social room, but tone it down a bit.

has anyone actually chose olimar here because they liked his games? i didn't lol, he just fits my style, i'm just curious about you guys though.
The only reason I still use Olimar ever is because I enjoyed his games so much.

I don't like the direction his game plan is going though, so I've picked up Meta Knight and the ICs, and I'm experimenting with Wolf.

what kind of direction do you think he is going? explain? I'm interested :0

okay, I've been meaning to say this but i get the vibe from the olimar boards that if someone post something people tend to jump all over it and challenge them, it's kinda irritating. I wish we let each other communicate our ideas more, we are all creative and powerful in our olimars and I'd wish to learn more about olimar threw everyone's opinions. :)

I chose to main Olimar because of his games,

I told myself if he was a character, i'd main him, and that's how everything worked out :3

Even the most aggressive Olimar players are being forced to play really, really campy nowadays. It's not so much the campy part I hate, but that fact that we have to run away the whole match with a character that's not meant to run away well. (Bad rolls and he suffers from Zelda Syndrome)

Things aren't as safe as they use to be, as well. Some characters can even bypass Olimar's grab by reacting to the sound he makes and then rolling behind him as the pikmin gets near. Some people are catching on to that... <___<

At least, this is what has been happening to me lately. I'm not exactly a top player. >.>

that is how we roll.

also, i used to be an EXTREMELY aggressive olimar, never sideb at all always in your face doing stuff. i can't anymore, and have reverted to half campy half aggressive, which seems to be working really well for me. i've learned that if i short hop whistle as i approach i can aggressively approach nearly every time.

Meh, I wouldn't say that the whole boards in general is incredibly hostile to new ideas and new members to the Oli boards. Just a couple of users. Which is disappointing since that stunts the growth of new developments for Olimar.

About how I picked Oli. Well, I used to main G&W. Three things happened at the same time which led to me switching to Oli.

First, at the last tourney I went to, I played against Fearless with G&W. The first two rounds he went mk, and the third round was him Oli and my G&W. While playing against Fearless, I admired how Oli just flowed between the side B spam, aerials, smashes and grabs. Well, I lost that match, which led me to study the G&W Oli matchup in depth. I checked both of the boards discussions, both their new and older ones. I also sought as many videos as I could of the matchup. I came across Leepuff playing against Rich Brown. Seeing another Olimar play increased the fascination that I had acquired while playing against Fearless. I really liked how Oli played, and it looked like how I wanted to play. The day that I studied the oli GW matchup, my friend called me and asked me who my main would be if I dropped G&W, and I told him "Olimar." This alone didn't make me drop G&W though.

At about the same time, the new tier list for brawl came out. G&W fell down the list unfortunately. I knew this was because of his lack of metagame development.G&W was a dying character, and I hated his playstyle and Moveset. It became increasingly difficult to play against higher level players since it was so difficult to land a kill move on them.

Then there was the G&W boards. I never felt too welcome there. It's not like they were horrible or anything, just pretty boring. What disappointed me the most was that the boards let a thread die that had at least some benefit of helping G&W's metagame. I did my best to keep it alive, but since no one else posted in it it died.

These things led me to drop G&W and go to Oli.

Also, I have two main styles with Oli. I enjoy playing them both, and which one I play depends on the matchup. The first one is incredibly defensive, which I just sit there and stop all approaches through a combination of shield, grab, and fsmash. I love playing like a fortress. The second one is that when my opponent approaches, I kind of evade their approaches and punish they're openings and mistakes. I jump a lot using this style, and nair is used a lot.

Being the most hated
so im not the only one that thinks olimar needs to be streamlined in his strategy to have a chance to win, but is also just becoming unviable because everyone has started to really figure him out >_>
