In that case I'd likely come to you so I can yell at Nike in person.

Also, I thought you were against receiving money/things like that? At least that's the reaction you gave when you said you weren't going to WHOBO and people offered to start a donation for you.

Hello again everyone, and hello scare! sorry I missed your first greeting.

I was just wondering, if at my tournament I only play Marth, will I be in trouble? Am I gonna get counter-picked all the time? I don't think there is a character that counter Marth, or maybe there is? MK is banned tho. Being countered is actually the only thing im afraid of, so I think I should focus on it while I still can!

Marth has one of the safest match-up spreads in the game, he's a very safe solo main.

His only worrisome difficult match-ups are Diddy, Dedede and Ice Climbers. They all require very calculated, patient play, and experience with the match-up.

He's one of the best characters to run solo. Most Marth players only play Marth, with occasional pocket MK. (Zex/Mike)

So no, you cannot really hard-counterpick Marth.

Arxis, as raziek said above, the worst ,MUs for marth are diddy, dedede and ics, you need a lot of patience, baiting and perfect spacing (and item control with diddy).

for stages, marth doesn't have mayor problems with any, so practice and get familiar with those stages you dislike or those you don't have too much experience, so work on those stages to make them comfortable for you

Marth is very easy to play on almost all stages in a conservative environment. The ones that take the most getting used to are YI and Frigate, somewhat Lylat.

Ahh thats great! Cause I don't feel like playing/mastering another character xD Marth is just too awesome!

And for the stage, i've set the stage available at the tournament and play them on random since monday. Frigate is the only one I really suck at. But I like both YI so no problem there xD

Thanks everyone for the quick replies!

How do you not mention metaknight?!?

Literally every top Marth main in NA uses a pocket MK.

Your god Killock has no pocket MK.

HOW DO YA LIKE THAT

other than that it's true

NEO's pocket MK is probably the best out of them all.

That.
The more stages, (specially if moving/tilting or lacking ledges (dear god, how badly he is hurted by the lack of ledges)), the harder it is for Marth to play.
He has still one of the best spacing games in the game, if it's not the best. It at least is the most rewarding one if played correctly.

Literally every top Marth main in NA uses a pocket MK.
Is Mexico NA?
Anyway, I am not a Marth main with a pocket MK.
i am a MK main that had to move to Marth/DDD/ZSS.
So I'm pretty sure Diddy Kong is still a bad matchup for all of them, lol.

I have always said that the problem is not MK, but that people use to exaggerate.
Oh, and the stagelists.
Nope- Marth will lose to MK on any stagelist.

i don't mind playing diddy on smashville, and mk and marth on neutrals is even. only on cp does **** get gay

:phone:
Nope, Marth loses to MK on every stage. It's close on a lot of them, but he still loses on them all.

marth/d3 is so gay. I have to change my entire play style and when i mess up, I'm taking like 30% across the stage.
D3 vs Marth is fun :c

nope, there neutrals
mr mk main :)

:phone:
Him playing MK is irrelevant.
They're not neutrals.

They're also neutrals

:phone:
They can't be neutrals because no stage in the game is neutral. Every stage affects every MU in some way. The best you can hope for is a median of bias.

Why keep a bad habit?

They can't be neutrals because no stage in the game is neutral. Every stage affects every MU in some way. The best you can hope for is a median of bias.
Neutrality isn't by necessity defined by character advantages or disadvantages. In fact, a neutral stage would be impossible simply due to matchups. Rather, the concept of neutrality can be dissected into properties of the stage. Therefore, those stages are in fact neutrals. By analyzing and defining those properties, one can systematically rule out all the stage that don't conform to those criteria. One might say that such an approach cannot be considered neutral, as the criteria are defined subjectively. However, neutrality as a concept differs according to the situation in which it is used. And thus, by applying it in this context, we can conclude those stages are neutral.

The idea that neutrality can only be approached from one angle is simply flawed.
