Okay I think I have a bold new idea for my control scheme for my platfighter
A is neutral attacks
B is special attacks
Y is Shield/Meter (In this game there is a meter mechanic to both enhance specials and cast your shield, by pressing Y and a special attack input at the same time you can perform an enhanced version of that special attack.)
X is jump, if you jump with the joystick while pressing X you always do a short hop no matter what, you can even do short hop aerials by pressing X plus A.
Shoulder buttons are the grab buttons.
Triggers are the dodge buttons, you can use this button whike dashing to perform a dodge roll, and by crouching and dodging you perform a wavedash.
How does this control scheme work, I feel it works in the context of my game, does it feel natural. I also think it's distinct from Smash Bros while still feeling comfortable.
