    Kids movies and comedy movies are the only two things American animated movies are allowed to be, what's up with that?

    The term "kids movie" should be thought of as an entire genre of movies rather than movies a certain age group is "supposed" to watch. This way adults will feel just as welcome to watch kids movies as the kids are.

    what you got to remember is that there are child friendly movies that are made so anyone can enjoy them and there are movies made solely for kids

    Yeah, the makers of these films probably want everyone to watch them regardless of how old they are, the films just have to be aimed at kids because they'll make more money that way.

    Take the Cars movies for example, Cars' director possibly wants people of all ages to watch the Cars movies, but the very concept of Cars is so silly that the movies would perform the best if they were aimed at children.

    Modern Paper Mario has a vastly different tone and setup than classic Paper Mario. Sticker Star, Color Splash and Origami King are not part of the same series as 64, TTYD and Super Paper Mario. They are not even in the same ballpark. If they were, you'd think they'd bring up the events of the first 3 games at least once. And the Paper Mario in the modern games probably isn't the same Paper Mario as the one in the first 3 games.

    Most people probably believe Xenoblade X will be a Switch original game and you can't blame them. The original came out 10 years ago on a system no one bought and Xenoblade was still not very well known of an IP at the time.

    I dont really see it especially with Xenoblade X having the reputation of being the one really good, big game stuck on Wii U for a few years.

    Maybe in the distant future but even then i think that would depend on the quanitity & value of the two versions when people decide to go through the series & look for it.

    No one likes being disrespected, putting up with unfair nonsense or being in a bad situation, but the way you react to these things is what makes a difference. If you get mad at the perpetrators or give them attitude, they'll feel just as much contempt for you as you feel for them. But if you absolutely must be angry or have an attitude, go where no one is around to hear it or witness it and then do it. What they don't know won't bother them. As long as they believe you're a nice person, that's all that matters.

    It's a shame that not every Mario character will be in every Mario game, but the characters only appear in the games if they have a purpose to be in them. Luigi's not in Super Mario Sunshine because what would he do in the game? Jump higher and run faster than Mario like in Galaxy? Those abilities would be overshadowed by the Rocket and Turbo Nozzles anyway.

    Brothership has tons of OCs and Toad appearances are kept to a very bare minimum. By today's Mario RPG standards, you don't know how much of a blessing that is.

    Of course they count. They're legitimate releases that contributed to the Mario RPG discourse coming to an end. And said discourse was always annoying as hell as is. Please don't try to resurrect it.

    The only reason they didn't replace all the OCs in SMRPG and TTYD with Toads in the remakes is because if they did, that would change too much about the games. Brothership is an original Mario RPG with minimal Toads and at least a hundred OCs. We haven't had an original Mario RPG like that in over 10 years. Also, this post is not meant to resurrect the Toad problem so I have no idea why you would think that.

    There's another problem with modern Paper Mario that no one seems to bring up. It's straight up not the same series as classic Paper Mario. The modern games feel like they have no connection to the classic games since the rules of their worlds works differently than the world of the classic games and the characters and events of the classic games are never brought up in the modern games.

    Just because a game isn't aimed at you doesn't mean the devs don't want you to play it. It's just that a game needs a target audience so it'll sell more copies.

    Think of it like this, a game that's supposed to aim at one specific age group will end up appealing to everyone, while a game that's supposed to aim at everyone will end up appealing to no one.

    Let's think of a cool word or term to put in the title of the next Splatoon game instead of the number 4. And no meme responses.

    It could be Splatoon: City of Color, or Splatoon: A Fresh Coat of Ink for some examples.

    DKC Tropical Freeze only has 7 worlds and 6 bosses while Returns had 9 worlds and 8 bosses, but that's OK because each of Tropical Freeze's 6 worlds has more levels than all the Returns worlds, and Returns essentially only has 6 bosses too. Thugly is just a reskin of Mugly and the Pinchin' Pirates are just glorified generic enemy crabs.

    Star Fox is no longer the major Nintendo staple it once was, so I can see it being cut down to one rep in Smash 6. Plus Falco and Wolf were just clones anyway.

    I'm gonna assume switch 1 and 2 will share nso libraries honestly, there's 0 reason to stop supporting switch 1 nso immediately after switch 2 comes out. This'll probably be a long lasting overlap period. If switch 2 gets exclusive nso games, they'll be for whole consoles not present on switch 1.

    I don't understand why people are so confident about calling good G or PG films kids movies. The term kids movie implies that the makers of the film don't want adults to watch it by themselves without their kids watching it with them. Think of a G or PG movie you feel very passionate about. How would you feel if you found out the director of that movie didn't want you to watch it?

    A lot of MA rated animes have very good animation, so why can't western MA cartoons like Rick & Morty, South Park, etc have good animation?

    Smash 6 should prioritize new 3rd parties over returning ones. We can already use returning ones in Ultimate and NSO will be on the Switch 2, so we can keep playing Ultimate online. Plus you have to understand how impossible it is for Sakurai to bring back all 18 3rd parties and also add 10 more.

    There's a ton of 1 player, 2 player and 4 player games, but what about 3 player games? There should at least be a 4 player game where there's a main story mode and a mode where you play minigames. The minigame mode can be for up to 4 players while the main story mode would be for up to 3 players. Why? Because the 4 player minigames would be appear in the story mode and as long as one of the 3 players wins, all 3 players would get credit.

    Multiversus beats out NASB 2 at everything...except the most important thing of all, the gameplay. Each NASB 2 character has a lot more abilities than every Multiversus character.

    ...I think there's some problems with both games, to be fair, but I'm agreed with you on MVS movesets being a little... underbaked. There's some issues in both games, though, and I'm not sure I'd say MVS outright beats NASB2 in everything else (case in point, MVS's live-service model being a big point of contention in the genre)

    I'm worried about the Switch 2's logo. The 2 is next to the Switch symbol, but it's also above the words Nintendo Switch, so it makes it seem like it says Nintendo Switch 2 Nintendo Switch. Is this going to give people the wrong idea about the console?

    3DS can be considered a transformed DS

    PS5 can be considered a transformed PS4, which in of itself can be considered a transformed PS3

    Xbox Series X can be considered a transformed Xbox One which in of itself can be considered a transformed Xbox 360

    All of those are still new systems and anyone can tell that they are. The only people who try to claim they aren’t are those who are grasping at straws trying to find something to complain about.

    A lot of people aren't happy about Toy Story 5, but I am. Because it's more Toy Story and there's a chance Woody will go back with Buzz and the gang and stay with them by the end. That would go against the purpose of Toy Story 4, but Toy Story 4 goes against the purpose of Toy Story.

    Spoilers for Origami King if you still care, but


    Olivia's sacrifice is some of the worst writing in any Paper Mario game. She gets to make a wish and she wishes all that all origami made by King Olly would be undone, but that includes her, so she could have easily said all origami except for her instead. And she gives no indication that she wants to be unfolded, so it just feels like she accidentally gets herself unfolded. Why did this need to happen? To get some feels out of the player? The first 3 games got feels out of the player by putting effort into their writing.

    That’s a good question actually. I guess it would depend on what the movie has in it to make it PG-13.

    But we already have a few T rated Zelda games as is so that rating could work. R would definitely be too high but PG-13 might be passable.

    One issue with Luigi's Mansion 3 is that it's the THIRD game that's about rescuing Mario from a painting and beating King Boo. They should do something new in Luigi's Mansion 4.

    In a fighting game, it's OK if all the attacks each character has all have the same effect, as long as they each have a different function. This does not work the other way around. As proven by ARMS. Every character's attack in ARMS is functionally the same and the game thinks different status effects can make up for it.

    I wouldn’t say every attack is the same in ARMS; some gloves have pretty distinct uses. Dragon and Ice Dragon produce an extremely lingering laser beam instead of flying toward the enemy (they’re very different from how they work in Smash,) the Guardian and Clapback stall in midair before extending the rest of the way in order to act as shields, and some gloves attack from the sides (changing the way they’re dodged and meaning that they won’t clank with gloves that are fired straight toward the enemy.) Plus, big heavy gloves feel way different to use from small, light ones.

    I think the issue is more so just that you’re stuck with having just 2 gloves at a time. The more specialized gloves don’t really get to shine since you miss out on having conventional attacks alongside them. If you could switch gloves mid-match like Smash’s Min-Min does, you’d have a lot more options and mixups. Big heavy gloves are kinda lacking since you lose out on being able to do any fast attacks with that limb, but if you could switch to them at will, they‘d probably have more uses. Imagine playing Smash MinMin but down special only works while standing on the respawn platform. You get either RamRam or Megawatt each stock, not both.

    When I say they all function the same, I mean they're all punches that reach from afar and can be bent left, right or forward. Meanwhile you can do so much more than throw bendable punches in every other fighting game.
