I think it's fun as a Smash community exclusive term, but go anywhere outside of that small circle and try to use the word "4th party" and no one will know what you're talking about.

The terms “second party” and “third party” aren’t used correctly either. Technically you could say smash was a series with three parties involved in it ever since the first game.

But even than Characters like my Videospiel-Man are in a really weird position!
I mean i already Wrote his first two Books yet his current incarnation was completly designed for the use in a videogame (thats also his Name: Videogame-MAn)

Wouldn't fourth party characters be technically third party characters since, like third party gaming characters, they are not from the same company as Nintendo? Just a thought I wanted to share.
