  • I have some footage but I'm not sure you'd want me to link you to it because It's my Falcon and Falco from around early June after a Month of playing the game when I was still getting it down. I kinda play like crap and roll alot and stuff lol.
Well the thing is it's easy to be good with fox to a 7.3 level anyways. Once you get the AT's down with Fox and learn to control him you kinda start off at 7.0. However Moving past that point is difficult as HELL!!! It's taken me about 2 months from 7.0 to 7.3. So....yeah You see where I'm getting lol. At this rate I'll be at like 7.9 or 8.1 by the time pound comes around. So I basically I'll make it out of pools, Maybe win in round 1 or 2 depending on who I face off against and then I'll get matched with a Good player and they'll use me for Combo video footage :( LOL. Good thing is Melee looks like it's gonna be around for awhile so by the time Genesis 2 comes around I should be pretty **** good by then ;)
    Interesting I'd say I'm about a 6
7.3 with fox 6.9 with Marth and a 7.2 with Falcon. Under pressure I'm at LEAST 10.0 lower with all though. Also once you get the Basics with the characters I use it's easy to be good up to a certain point. The problem I'm having is pushing my Characters to level 8-10. I mean 10 Being M2K/Ken/Azen, Jman/Colbol/Lucky, SS/Darkrain/Scar.... I mean the names are hard enough to live up to let alone the skill level. But If I keep playing it's not like I can get worse! lol. All I want is to place top 20 at a Major tournament. Basically I'm not Aiming to hold the crown. I just want to be in the room with the guy wearing the crown.
No JOHNS!!!!!!!!! lol Jk. I've been to maybe 3 but there aren't really any Official tourneys because DE's community is kinda dead/never existed. So there were only like 10 people. I lost to my brother in Finals and won the other and a friend of ours won the other so...idk. We are kinda the only semi good Melee players that showed. I did run into some other pretty good players at a Brawl tourney but my Melee Skills where dead by then. I hadn't played in months and I could barely wavedash or L Cancel because I wasn't use to having to. I didn't let it bother me though because at the time I had quite. There aren't really any tourneys locally anymore sense I started playing Melee so. We've kinda had are own with Just friends. Honestly I've been honing my skills because I just don't want to show up as a Mediocre/Less than Mediocre player and just get ****ed up. To be honest my biggest weakness is nerves. If there 2 people watching me I get nervous. So Having 15-30-60-100+ People watching me I'm pretty sure I'd forget the buttons or something LOL. However once I've moved passed my stage fright I'm a decent player but still not good yet IMO. I'd say right now I could compete at a top level in 05 maybe. When there was only a handful of great players. Nowadays there are good player on every corner.
nothing out of state. I was going to go to an out of state tournament but...Had to cancel. I was bummed. It was going to get a chance to test myself against some high level players like Jman, Scar, Cactus...etc. Ah well.
Nobody really. Except some friends. I'm not new to smash but I am new to the tourney scene.
My Fox is doing pretty good. I can do all the basic fox stuff so I'm a pretty standard fox right now. I probably wouldn't go Fox against you though. I played a good Mewtwo before so I know what they can do to fox's if the get a grab LOL. Where you from bro?
Yeah practice with them as much as you can!

As for on guardin the edge F-smash or F-tilt, I NEVER use F-smash.. for some odd reason.. i just h8 the move... I don't exactly know why,, but i just do.. so you'll never see me use it.. On guarding the illusion tho, F-tilt is just easier to time

DJC shadowclaws, I tap X twice, then Fair.... as for the C-stick not being responsive..no it actually makes many moves easier to do.. it's just I play single player alot.. in single player you don't get a C-stick so I just adapted.. as for using it... I've never actually tried either... XD

Yeah i'm sure you can help, i mean w/enough practice anyone can.. I mean us m2 players as a whole, should all want that goal! :)

The quote he gave me is in Future Sight! at the beginning!
LOL, me and Taj both know Mewtwo dittos, are actually EXTREMELY ********... lol

Tech skill does come with practice, as for fighing the fast characters, that's something that only time, experience can really teach you. Hopefully someone in your area has a really solid, Fox, Falco, Falcon, With Mewtwo in battle you will probably, be Waveshiedling MORE THAN ANYTHING, in battle, this is just so you are able to move, w/o waveshielding "effective" movement would probably be impossible, Teleporting is key and very vital, Mewtwo's teleport is a gift, that no other has, with it's speed, and effectiveness, However, It's the only Up-B in game that deals no damage regardless, kinda like Mewtwo's D-smash (only character that goes in one direction) =/

Umm as for the ledge teleport, any stage w/a solid surface, that you can't go thru. so all the tournament legal random matches are fine for this, just it'll take practice to get down..

As for the edge, you might be there for a while to be effective, but Mewtwo to me, is actually a pretty decent edgeguarder, I use F-tilt and D-smash for the edgeguard, to hopefully set up for wall of pain B-airs or a simple teleport to edge, Mewtwo's tilt to me is nothing short of amazing! =D

Always, always, always try to have a full charged shadowball, it's an awesome projectile, kills at fairly low damage, and is hard to judge, since it waves up and down. =p As for shadowclaws, I recommend DJC shadowclaws.. so much more smooth, and effective that way, however timing also becomes more difficult too because of the small hitbox it has... As for recommendations of C-stick or not, I can't help you there, because I don't use the C-stick, (but to me, analog and a button is your winner) so I wouldn't know the benefits w/it or not.. =/

I guess you could say i'm his apprentice... =p and when he leaves, yeah He told me he's counting on me to continue what he'll be leaving behind... Nah, I don't have one yet, I just try and help as many people as I can to get better with Mewtwo, Taj and I both have the same goals, and that's to get Mewtwo to Low Tier, I just knew someone had to step up because Taj, can't bring Mewtwo to low Tier on his own, he needs some help, so I came in, and (hopefully other soon too) Cuz if the M2 were only Taj, he'd be considered "the exception" you know.. so yeah! n n
Yeah we both live(d) in AZ, but when we were both there, we were on opposite sides, He was in Phoenix somewhere, and I was in a town named Sierra Vista (SV) so we never really played each other, I played him at AZOneTwoStep, last time which was more than a year ago, but neither of us played M2

No videos huh? hmm well you can gimme an idea, of what trouble you're having, and I can work wit ya... =]

As for advice Taj, gave me, man, he gave me alot, but probably the most helpful/useful, is that he had faith in me, To boost my confidence he gave me a quote to use in my combo video directly from him... and it definetely boosted my confidence, and for him to put trust in me to be the Mewtwo man once he leaves, if he leaves...
    Hey, Sean what's up?

Umm do you have some videos I can watch of you or something, I'll be able to tell what you can work on based off of what you already know how to do...

Also: in terms of "hands on training" Taj didn't teach me anything with Mewtwo. I was just like everyone else going to the "Taj is the best Mewtwo Thread" and of course watching his videos, but kinda creating my own style... He never really sat down and had training sessions with me, just awesome words of advice on AIM. <3 that guy

So yeah gimme a video, or an idea where you're at, or post in the Mewtwo thread so i can get a good understanding! =D
Me? awesomeness? lol, I hope so, just slowly getting my name out there, but probably because Taj, is uplifing me alot. I REALLY impressed him, so now others I guess are startin to see, but Idk.. lol i'm too humble to know... umm Videos of what? exactly?

    Umm - Future Sight (My combo Video) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sai5GpioDL0 i'd love a comment ^^:

    and uhh - http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=244308
Any matches of me vs the Cape are new, The Cape's good! n n and yeah that's it for the most part?

anyway whats up w/you How are you doin?
Dreamland is a very good Mewtwo stage against certain characters. It's big with a high ceiling with lots of room, which all Mewtwo players need. Against people whom you reley on an U-Throw for your kills (*looks at Samus*) Dreamland is a nightmare because of the high ceiling, but there is pleanty of side room off the stage to gimp characters with recoveries that are gimpable, which for Mewtwo is just about everyone lol...

Kongo 64 is an amazing Mewtwo stage, seeing as how he can jump through it. It's big with room, and shallow sides for B-Throw and D-Smash K.O.s

Kongo Jungle the counter-pick is actually a good stage for Mewtwo if you play with a brain lol.

Mute City is another one I like, but only against characters like Mario or even Marth, who usually need an edge to recover onto because of the lag time on their third jumps. Peach is much better on that stage for instance.

    anything else? :bee:
As for vids, look in the Mewtwo video thread in the Mewtwo boards lol.

    Counter-picks... hmmm.

My favorite Mewtwo stage is Pokefloats, but that doesn't help against fox, just to warn you.

    FD is really good too.
I'm not sure yet. Depending on how well I do, I'll be retiring anyway. So I'd like to advance as far as possible, and I may need to play Marth to do that. If I feel like I've fell off too far, then I'll probably play more M2.
Lol I stopped posting completely in the Jigglypuff boards. Hate that ****hole. And I essentially created everything as well there...
