  • this school stuff is taking longer than expected...i still want to go tonight but if its too late i could stay at your place and we could go tomorrow morning. your call.

    the schedule...
    6:30 now
    7:00 begin test
    8:00 end test
    8:30 at your place
I think he's going to stay at THOs house until Thursday because his parents are out of town and both of us have to be in Raleigh, then on Thursday we'll probably take him to the apartment. If you guys want to come down one day this week we could probably play at THOs because his house is huge.
"If you're flying into RDU I can pick you up and you can stay at my apartment in Chapel Hill until HERB. I might be able to pick you up if you fly into Greensboro, but it depends on the date/time."---Karn in HERB thread

dont let karn steal m2k from sp...pm the guy and get him here
Alright, I'll start off with the 1st match of you vs Shady( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q94m7VJtIwI&feature=channel_page ):

0:08- waiting for the Dtilt was a bad idea because Snake being on the ground for a low sweeping move can just Ftilt you(which he did) or PS it. A better option would be to grab Snake or try for another down B I guess. Anything that pops Snake back into the air is good.

0:11- Why another down B when Snake is tripped? That was arguably a Dsmash(unless you like those fresh) or a grab. Grabs vs Snake seem so good with DK imo because you can throw him offstage or into the air, which are the two places Snake does NOT want to be in at all(excluding the edge).

0:13- Make sure you're watching your opponent before starting up more Bairs. Mix up your spacing on them too. Sometimes you should aim for his shield every time, and sometimes try to weave into his shield and then back out in case he rolls.

0:16- It would've been flashy as all to get that Dair, but again you could've netted a Dsmash or even a Uair(which would've been a percent to start at too) off of the forward B and instead got nothing.

0:18- Okay, so now you know he's ready to AD early, so just use empty SHs and/or FJs that follow his trajectory to bait his ADs so you can punish them. From SHs you could probably Do a Utilt, Dsmash, grab, down B, Dtilt maybe, Donkey Punch I think, and Bair I guess. From FJs you could either Uair or Bair depending on Snake's height when he jumps and how long you wait for him.

0:19- Snake won't usually jump up and hit you, and since DK is weak from the bottom your main goal when launched is to get back quickly. Mixing in aerials to hit your opponent is fine if it was someone like Marth, but Snake won't jump and hit you too often, so just focus on getting back down without eating many Utilts.

0:25/26- Jumping towards Snake in the air as DK facing forward is a bad idea. Go back towards the edge. It'll save you damage, though you will still be contained a little. I'm not saying always jump back, but in this situation that was the best idea. Also, you can Smash DI all of Snake's Nair hits up to avoid at least the last one.

0:30- Don't try attacking though Snake's rapid attacks. That doesn't work. DI away from Snake on the ground because you can get out of his jabs(and sometimes the second hit of the Ftilt) that way.

    0:38- was that...a Uair?

0:42- I never understood why you did that. Far too risky. You have aerial then DI down to stop your momentum or even DJ as a last resort but I wouldn't think using your up-B saves you in the long run.

0:50- you held the Dsmash too long. It would've worked though.

0:57- First of all, dash grab sucks horribly. Either walk up and grab or dash to shieldgrab. Secondly, you weren't in range for that at all. Ftilt, maybe Dtilt, and I guess down B (oh yeah Bair probably too) would've all been effective here I think.

1:05- Try and judge those better if you can. If you can't get it then there's nothing wrong with a free Bair/Uair.

1:31- I know I pointed this out already, but Utilt just seems like such a bad idea all around at that time. Not enough stun at that percent, somewhat laggy for DK, and you're getting hit with a rapid move.

1:35-37- Looked like it was programmed into your memory. If he had shielded the Dtilts then maybe that would've been a good idea. You have to adjust your patterns to what your opponent does. If he gets hit by Dtilt one(AND trips!), then a second Dtilt won't do much good. Also, the up-B is good shield pressure, but Snake seems to be able to hit you harder out of it than you can hit him.

    1:47- Accidental jump?

1:53- Be sure you're watching your opponent. A quick angled Ftilt could've taken care of that easily. Free grab right there.

1:57- That FJ puts you in a bad position. Snake rolled into you, so you don't have to worry about shieldgrabs or Ftilts(sort of). If you want to FJ to pressure, do it when he's farther away and you're in the middle of the stage imo.

1:58- Shouldn't have attacked at that range when Snake has Ftilt. You need to shield or roll in that situation. You might have been able to get away with a jump.

2:14- If he had spotdodged you would've been okay, but a Dtilt seems like a the safest option here since you can hit him (maybe), have time for another after the spotdodge, or have time to hit him out of his roll with a Dsmash or grab or whatever.

2:19- Usmash at that time doesn't make much sense to me. It looked like it almost hit there(since he PS'd it) so I guess I'll leave that one alone.

2:31- You noticed how much he started to dodge in the last minute of the match, right? Well, you can either sit in your shield longer to bait the spotdodge (or Ftilt sadly), and get the grab, or mix in turnaround jump Bairs or even shield drop walk away Dtilts or shield drop Dsmashes. Get creative. He's gonna dodge, so you should learn his patterns.

    2:34- Uair would've been better.

The roll getup is usually bad vs Snake because he can Ftilt/Utilt you so easily.

Alright, and now there's you vs Mits ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zws8zAChePA&feature=channel_page ):

So far he's just throwing out stuff and your slower baits are getting Fsmashed or Bair'd. Walk into shield more so Wolf will have to get close and grab and then you can nail him when he tries to go in.

0:31- second Utilt was a bad idea. Grab or retreating Bair shenanigans would've been good.

0:37- as before, falling into the opponent is not usually the best idea.

0:46- as hard as it is, you can't stand there. You have the range to deal with Wolf, but you have to make him come to you just a bit to hit him. Throw some more Bairs out to stay moving, and be sure to mix in tilts to screw with hsi Fsmashes.

1:22- Multiple Dtilts(even on shield) is a bad idea. No more than two are necessary because the point is to use a fast move that will force the opponent to do something OOS. In this case, you could've gotten a Dsmash out of it.

2:01- When up close after using Bairs well, don't try for something long ranged and sorta laggy like Ftilt(it's laggy up close). The grab might have worked, but chances are Mits would have rolled even if you did nothing. Dtilt or a grab or just some walking/jumping tricks would've been fine here I think. If you walked back half a step and then Ftilted I think you would've gotten the hit.

2:50- It's generally not a good idea to use a blocked/barely stopped attack twice in a row because the opponent is assuming you will try it again. Bairs all dai.

2:52- Kinda desperate looking. Keep your cool, walk up and PS that ish til you get close.

2:54- Bad DK move imo. Ftilt or run up to retreating Bairs would be good here I think.

3:03- When close, you don't need to walk up and PS. You have to start Bair'ing or down B'ing or whatever DK tricks you have up your sleeve.

Now then, I skipped a lot of the same stuff in both matches, so put great weight into the parts I did mention. In general I see you relying too much on patterns and not enough on mixing your game up based on your opponent, and I don't see you watching your opponent to react/change your strategy either.

Hope this helps! Sorry again for the lateness.
I'm so sorry I didn't get those critiques to you yesterday. A whole lot of stuff came up.

Today is a different story though. I'll get them to you asap(after I wake up =p).
i was thinking you might be able to get a brawl teammate/alot of money for housing m2k

dude....you **** in doubles and DK plus mk is a good team....but it wouldnt matter because it is ****ing m2k
Yo, you should bring SP to my house on Friday night for pre-foxy's smashfest. We'll have melee and brawl, and pp and stingers and yay will be there. You're welcome to spend the night.
You're going to have to explain this one to me.

    No exit=not a city?

So then, SP is a general area?

So then, you guys live in a city that is not called Southern Pines?

What would the name of that city be?
