Critique time! Sorry I'm overdue.
DK vs Diddy (losing match):
0:06- You Ftilt and he throws a naner at you. It's a common Diddy move, and despite your Ftilt's range, it was obviously a poor choice of option. Instead, you could have SH'd a Bair or simply shielded. Try to counter what he might do without stretching your neck out ok?
0:09- ............
right after that-0:15- just some bad decisions made that allowed him to combo you. Don't drop your shield when he's pressuring unless he starts to run at you cuz that'll probably be a grab. Watch him as you fall so he doesn't get under you like that. DK being right above someone is bad. Don't Fair before you hit the ground....
0:19- try to watch him more closely alright? He shouldn't be THAT close to you when your move starts.
0:20- DI'ing towards Diddy like that is bad. You wanna get back onto the ground. You're asking to get hit, which you did.
0:32- I'm starting to see something here. Either you're really tired, or not very observant. Double Ftilt is almost always a bad idea anyway. If the first Ftilt misses, usually your opponent reacts, so see what he does and react to him. In this case, Bair or Uair him (depending on reaction time).
0:45- I'm no DK expert, but a move with so little horizontal range and a bit of startup time shouldn't be used for getting on top of the stage. Just focus on getting back, and hit him as a bonus sometimes.
0:49-0:56- You just....run around sluggishly and chase him. That doesn't work in Brawl. =p Either make sure you hit him (much harder/riskier) or box him in to give him less options, and a greater liklihood of punishing. For example, why did you try for a pivot grab past him when you could've shield grabbed, SH Baired/double Bair, or SH Bair to forward B, or some delayed aerial tactics even?
1:05- Don't fall towards Diddy as DK. Not good. He knew you'd attack and just sat in his shield. Even if you didn't see him shielding beforehand, you should know that a still Diddy is about to either PS or glidetoss somewhere. As said before, try to get down.
1:12- Why were you just jabbing, and then why did YOU roll way from him? You must've gotten into his head to make him roll, so press your advantage. Watch his movements.
1:17-1:18- Rofl rofl rofl
1:26-1:27- Why are you just walking away? If you're gonna go for walking tricks, at least be ready to shield! He's too close for that anyway, so I'd suggest...Dtilt probably. Not spammed of course.
1:34- You have this bad habit of holding your shield and then dropping it half a second later this match. DUB has picked at it quite a bit too. After once or twice of being punished like that, you need to evaluate what's going wrong, and try to fix it rather than get ***** by the same trick the whole match.
2:21- It's not working.
2:30-2:32- Why do you do that? You run away as he gets close to you? DK has close range punishers and gtfo moves, don't run away! It looks stupid anyway...=p Dsmash, up-B on the ground, retreating Bairs, spaced Dtilt/Ftilt, all of these moves can help you. In the particular situation, grab or Utilt would also have been nice.
vs Olimar:
0:07- Lucky down-B. Had he started to side-B or Fair, you would've gotten some ****. You predicted correctly though, so he'll probably quit approaching and camp more now. I hope you were thinking some of this too.
0:09- Don't ever assume. Watch his roll.
0:11- If you see the shield after the first Bair, side-B if you're close, or do nothing if you're farther away. He can't grab you then.
0:16- Olimar's grabs are ****, so try getting in on him a little. Actually, Olimar is pretty slow in the air, so maybe down-B from afar isn't so bad after all. I also assume that DUB, like most opponents, needs to be punished for the same approach a few times a match to realize he's doing something wrong before he changes his style. KNOW make sure you know this. Moar down-B is the call right now.
0:20- You're lucky he didn't wait for your get up, or you'd have been hurting. Good hit though.
0:23- That was pretty gay.
0:28-0:30- I liked and disliked. Why did you tech towards him? Nice grab spotdodge, but then why roll away? He spotdodged after you did, so Dsmash or something. I did like the down-B afterwards to prevent follow-ups though. He's gonna spam now probably though, so know that you'll have to start chasing the camper when you condition him to approach less. This matchup is lookin really gay for DK I gotta say.
0:33-0:39- That's a losing battle, you do nothing to him and take damage. Bad. You wanna approach here to hurt him while he has less Pikmin (I think it's a good idea anyway) because I'm pretty sure Olimar players are very conscious of their strength in numbers, and you charging them there would apply some pressure. On more experienced Oli's it might not work (Bill?) but it's good pressure anyway imo.
0:41- Oli is campy, so try to presume he won't Usmash your approach and throw out some Bairs. You have to quit using Ftilt or you'll keep getting grabbed.
1:04- If he'd AD'd, that would've been aight, but he hasn't had to worry aerially all game, so don't assume. Go for a dash into shield grab to be safer. Test his reactions.
1:15- I addressed this in the Diddy match, but I'll say it again one more time. Don't fall towards your opponent as DK. Bad idea. Olimar is great at following up too.
1:22- I lol'd. I dunno if you could've made a move before him if you had done the move just a little earlier, but I still think there were other options to use on a shielding Olimar. Maybe forward-B, maybe grab, maybe land to cross-up Bair.
1:25-1:26- DK's spotdodge isn't that great, try retreating Bairs out of shield. I dunno what else to tell ya, DK's options OOS are pretty much retreating Bair from that side lol.
1:34-137- You had a good thing goin, but then you just start throwin crap out there and hoping he'll run into it. BIG nono. If you hit someone, they're not going to just run crazily back at you to get hit again (except me cuz no one does it....not the point), so chase him! He even friggin jumped, which is what you want so badly, so Bairs, Nairs, and dash shield grabs all have their place there. When he lands, quit Ftilting! Try to get a grab, or walk into Dtilt when he stops shielding, just don't sit there flailing at him.
Hmmm, up-B on the ground ***** shields AND Pikmin? Good idea, just try to get his shield slightly dimished before using, and don't spam the move. It's bad if you miss.
2:10-2:11- You rolloed away when he used Usmash the wrong way twice. Free Dsmash/Dtilt to grab/forward-B/Bair on shield to forward B anyone? You Ftilted before you died again...hmm...
2:48- I think Bair to reset the situation would've been better. Olimar sucks horribly off of the stage.
Here: Ftilt apparently gets you *****, and so does not following up/watching your opponent, which was your main problem in the match that you lost, too. Learn what moves are the safest, and what your punishments should do to your opponent, and then combine that with prior knowledge based on how they're reacted before and during the current match.
