also, another good one, reverse facing grenade pull stops a lot of stuff, very useful especially against tornado.
Oh and DACUS is also handy for punishing MK nearly anywhere after he ends tornado. Just watch out for the timing, and it's pretty nice for just when he retreats and is about to land.

ditto to underload on cooking grenades with DACUS.
you can literally turn around -> grenade pull -> shield drop grenade -> turn around and DACUS with the grenade and it'll be primed pretty quickly.
I think hitting with the mortar hitbox makes it easier for you to hit with the actual projectile? Iunno, I've never really looked at it indepth. Just remember that DACUS is a better zoning tool than an offensive move. Snake isn't about flying across the stage scoring all these janky hits.
The one bad habit I had early on was not ****ing cooking grenades. Don't get caught in that habit, it's hard to break. Make sure proper cooking and good grenade / C4 set ups are one of the first things you learn and master.
Definitely the hit of the dash attack.
I'd recommend that you only DACUS when you need to get a lot of space between you and your opponent after hitting him. So, like, probably at lower percents. Just use a dash attack otherwise.
Oooh, and while I'm at it, I'll just say that DACUS is good for cooking nades. Probably its best use, really.
