I thought Tangled was a worthy entry into the Disney canon, but I enjoyed The Princess and the Frog more. I'm a huge fan of the artstyle in Tangled--the usage of 3D to make the world LOOK 2D was really refreshing and unique. I also love Pascal and Maximus. They're just brilliantly animated and are a joy to watch.
I thought the romance was just a touch on the forced side, the villain didn't strike me as much as major classic Disney villains, and the songs were all pretty much forgettable. The lyrics just hit the nail on the head way too often, literally saying word for word characters' goals, dreams, and aspirations. While it's true that other films do this, there's usually a bit more flair added to the lyrics.
